Everything in my life is perfect. But I don’t remember my husband…

Evan is supposed to be the partner of my dreams. Kind and caring, he bought us this beautiful farmhouse. In our wedding photographs, my smile is radiant. But I’ve been told I had a terrible accident. I don’t recall Evan or anything about our lives. And in my heart, until I remember him, I’m not his wife.

What I do know is that something is very wrong in this home.

The woman who lived here first disappeared and left all her belongings behind. And one day, Evan’s Aunt Mary warns I’m in danger…

When I search the basement for clues about who I am, my stomach twists. We’re not alone here.

And either my husband has a terrible secret… or the person hiding something is me.

This utterly addictive thriller is packed with shocking twists you’ll never see coming. Perfect for fans of Gone Girl, Teresa Driscoll and Freida McFadden.

🔪 | thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this eArc!

This was my first book by L.G Davis and I really enjoyed it!

When I started this book, the total duration of this book said roughly 5 hours (if you read about 1 page or 1.5 pages per minute). I'm also a sucker for short chapters, which was delivered! Whenever I had time to sit down and read this, the pages flewwww by. It was such a quick read, highly recommend to someone who needs a quick binge. So refreshing from the 500 page books I typically read.

The plot, the twists, the characters> amazing. HOWEVER, the end felt a *tad* rushed. This probably would've been a 5 star read if it wasn't for the ending. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the ending and still realllllyy enjoyed this read BUT I wish we would've gotten *more* , especially now knowing what we know.

Anyway, Not His Wife is released on July 15th!👵🏻🌟☠️

This was just ok for me. It started out interesting enough, but the story dragged and most of it was really predictable. I’m giving it three stars just because I’ve DNF-ed so many books lately and I actually wanted to finish this one.

I just finished Not His Wife, and I am still reeling. L.G. Davis has crafted a truly fantastic psychological thriller that kept me guessing right up to the final pages. The pacing is a standout feature of this book; it's a constant, engaging build that never lets up, and I flew through the chapters. I initially connected with Mary so much—her story felt compelling and relatable—but the author pulls off a twist that completely changes everything. You'll understand exactly what I mean.

The real genius, however, is in the details. Every chapter felt like a piece of a larger jigsaw puzzle, and the "breadcrumbs" L.G. Davis left behind were so satisfying to connect. The ending is pure perfection and ties everything together in a way I didn't see coming. Highly, highly recommend!

“Not His Wife” by L.G. Davis is a twisty 4-star read! Cora Harrison is recovering from a fall that left her with amnesia. She doesn’t remember anything about her life before the accident, not even her husband, Evan. As she tries to piece together her past, things don’t always add up.

Much of the story is told from Cora’s perspective, giving readers a firsthand look at her struggle to remember who she is. Overall, this is a quick read. Some parts, especially in the first half, felt a bit slow. Just when you think there can’t possibly be any more surprises, the author throws in another twist, right up to the final page.

There were a few moments where I questioned what was going on, but those were explained by the end, and everything came together nicely. I’m looking forward to whatever L.G. Davis delivers next!

Thanks to Bookouture, L.G. Davis, and NetGalley for providing me with the opportunity to read this ARC and share my honest review.

Big thanks to Bookouture for a copy on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Not His Wife is a very good read.
A suspenseful, domestic drama with a thriller aura.
Cora wakes up and has lost her memory and doesn’t know who she is.
She is in a house with a man stating that he’s her husband.
Also living there is Aunt Mary, who has dementia.
Caring for them is Lina.
Then someone says to her “you are not his wife”.
Things begin to unravel as Cora investigates.
It’s sharp, clever and totally addictive.
I really liked the mystery, intrigue and the cloak and dagger.
Short chapters and lots of curiosity.

MY THOUGHTS:
I don’t even know where to start, I’m still in shock after finishing this book. This was a smart, twisty thriller that kept me hooked until the very last page.
It’s true that I haven’t read many thrillers in my life yet, but I feel like this one has definitely earned a spot on my favorites list. The twists were absolutely mind-blowing, and just when I thought I was starting to put the pieces together, a new twist would hit me and even my wildest theories didn’t come close to the truth.

I loved how the author went into detail about important things without ever overdoing it. The emotions of the characters were so vividly described that I could clearly picture them in my mind — sometimes so clearly it was a bit scary! I especially appreciated how the author didn’t overwhelm the reader. New characters and plot elements were introduced gradually, keeping every page engaging and making sure the story never felt rushed.

The characters were wonderfully portrayed and perfectly fit the tone of the story. The author also did an excellent job conveying body language, which really added depth to each scene. It was such a relief to finally read about a female protagonist who wasn’t overly dramatic, didn’t rely on anyone, but instead was driven, trusted her instincts, and boldly followed them. I also loved that she wasn’t afraid to dig deeper into things. her curiosity pushed her actions forward and uncovered every little detail.
Evan’s character was also very well written — he acted just as someone in his profession would, playing his cards carefully when dealing with Cora. It was fascinating to see how he handled different situations and tried to turn things to his advantage.

The story tied everything together beautifully, answering all of my questions. Even when I thought I understood something, the book always proved me wrong — either by showing that things weren’t possible the way I imagined, or by giving me a new perspective.

The only reason I took off half a star was because of the beginning. The first half felt a bit slow to me, with only a few intense moments, and the focus was mostly on the general setup and buildup.

However, from the halfway point, the story really got fast, and I was fully hooked. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, wondering how it would all turn out. I suspected the final twist, but the way it was executed still managed to surprise me — and that was a huge positive for me! It was nearly impossible to predict. Just when I thought everything had wrapped up and I was coming to terms with the ending, the real shock came — and the epilogue added an extra punch on top of that.

To be honest, the final outcome was a bit of a disappointment for me, but not because of the story itself. It was just a personal taste issue, so it didn’t affect my overall rating. I think it’s simply harder for me to adjust to this genre after reading so many romantic novels.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me this book in exchange for an honest review!

ÉRTÉKELÉS: 4,5 ⭐️

GONDOLATAIM:

L G Davis creates the most fast-paced, unpredictable, twisty-turny, psychological thrillers! This was the third book I have read by Davis, The Widow’s Cabin & The New Nanny, having been the others, and I was utterly absorbed as much with this one as I was the first. I was instantly hooked from the moment I started reading. Every time I had to put the book down I was already eager to get back to reading it again. It was that addicting.

I loved how Davis didn’t waste any time diving into the intricate inner lives of the characters. She immediately explored well-developed, complex, and relatable characters making this narrative gripping. As the story moved forward Davis skillfully delved into the characters fears, anxieties, motivations, and mental states. It was mind boggling how she kept me constantly pondering who to trust and who not to trust.

Aside from the extremely interesting and flawed characters, the plot twists and misdirections were skillfully crafted. There was an abundance of intrigue and surprising elements throughout. Even more, the story’s mood was filled with tension and unease. I loved the descriptive dialogue and symbolism throughout the story. It created a foreboding tone and reinforced the theme of mental illness and moral ambiguity.

Davis is an under the radar author in the psychological mystery- thriller genre. Having read three five star psychological thrillers by L G Davis to date, she is officially one of my favorite authors. Unquestionably, Davis has a talent for generating deeply immersive and unsettling psychological thrillers. Davis’s writing plays on the reader’s psychological vulnerabilities and engages them in the characters’ turmoil and the unraveling mystery of her novels. I highly recommend Not His Wife to those who love a fast paced, unpredictable, twisty-turny psychological thriller.

Not His Wife by L.G. Davis (Publication Date July 15)
5 stars!

OMG is all I can say. She is my new fav thriller author because wow. This is the second book I’ve read from her and I am blown away! Her writing is so easy to read and I never want to put the book down. I am always captivated from the first few pages. I finished it in about 2 days and I kid you not, it was all I thought about. This psychological thriller has SO many twists that I literally did not see coming. I was being hit with twists left and right.

It’s written in two different parts with two diff POV which I loved because we get to see both sides of the story. Since It’s a psychological thriller, I was second guessing myself about everything and at one point, I freaked myself out! The MMC was so well written that I literally could not tell if he was a good or bad guy. I kept switching up on him in every chapter. I also like the side characters because it all ties into the story very well. Overall I just loved it so much!

Pleaseeee add this to your TBR because I promise you are in for a ride. This is my type of thriller books!

The first half of the story is told through only Cora’s POV and the last half is told alternately through Cora and Gabrielle’s POV. Cora is Evan’s wife. Mary, Evan’s aunt with dementia, lives with them. Cora wakes up at their house with no memories of who she is or what happened to her. Cora begins to suspect Evan may not be as safe of a person as he claims after she discovers things throughout the house.

There were many highly unrealistic situations in this story such as the way her release from the hospital was handled, Cora ignoring sounds coming form the basement that is completely off limits, and the secrets that Evan was hiding that were later revealed towards the ending.

Even though it was very unrealistic I still liked the book. I thought the plot twist about Gabrielle was super interesting and surprising. I also loved when Lina’s secret was revealed. I really liked how it was difficult to know which character to trust.

Thank you so much to bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC of L.G. Davis’s brand new psychological thriller — releasing July 15th!

This gripping story follows Cora Harrison, who wakes up after a terrible accident… with no memory of her life. She’s introduced to Ewan, a charming man who says he’s her husband — but something just doesn’t feel right.

I truly felt for Cora the entire way through — the emotional depth of her character was so powerful. L.G. Davis did an amazing job building her up and making the reader feel everything right alongside her.

The book grabs you from the very first page — fast-paced, unpredictable, and filled with twist after twist. Every piece of the puzzle fit together so cleverly. Dark, intense, and completely addictive… I couldn’t stop reading.

Highly recommend to any thriller lover!

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and L.G Davis for the opportunity to read this as my very first ARC!!

This story follows the main character ‘Cora’ who loses her memory after a fall. She wakes up in a house with a man called Evan who tells her that he is her husband, but obviously she cannot remember anything about her past. Then you also have Mary, an Evan’s elderly aunt with dementia.

The twists and turns were like no other in this book- usually when reading a thriller I have a hunch as to what the twists are going to be but the twists in this book caught me off guard so much (in a good way).

Well written, good character development throughout. I really felt like I understood the characters and their emotions throughout.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of Not His Wife. This was a hard book to get into, took very long and I wanted to not finish a few times. Try to get through the first half because WOW then it really picks up speed and makes your head spin!!!! The twists and turns in the latter half of the book is soooooo good. The epilogue is a terrific twist too. Great plot when you understand how it all comes together.

This was a smart, twisty psychological thriller that kept me hooked until the very last page. Just when I thought I was piecing the story together, a new revelation would hit and even my wildest theories did not come close to the truth. The story follows a woman who wakes up after a terrible fall with no memory of her past. She is in an unfamiliar house, greeted by a man who claims to be her husband, but something feels off. As she struggles to recall anything about her life, her instincts tell her there is more to this than she is being told.

The tension builds gradually through vivid descriptions, emotional depth and well-crafted reveals. The female lead was such a breath of fresh air. She is strong, instinct-driven and unafraid to dig deeper for the truth. The male lead kept me guessing the entire time, and I could never decide if he was genuinely trying to help her or hiding something. The dual POV format worked perfectly, giving two sides of the same unsettling puzzle and keeping me invested from start to finish.

The first half focuses on setup and character development, drawing you in with an undercurrent of unease. The second half bursts with high-stakes twists, shocking reveals and moments that had me on the edge of my seat. I was second guessing every character and every motive, and just when I thought it was over, the epilogue delivered one final jaw-dropper.

This was my first book by her and I will definitely be reading more.

Introduction

From the very first page of Not His Wife, I was hooked by the eerie prologue: an unseen observer watches the aftermath of a crime scene - “This house used to be so lively,” the narrator whispers, as a black body bag is loaded into a white van - while a lone woman stares back, as if she knows exactly why the house went silent. That unsettling opener immediately sets the tone for a tense, page-turning thriller.

Something happened here

Amnesia

Cora Harrison wakes in a remote farmhouse she doesn’t recognize. A handsome man, Evan, hovers above her, brushing her cheek and saying, “Welcome home, darling. How are you feeling?” According to him, she spent two weeks in a coma (and four days drifting in and out of consciousness) after a fall down the stairs. Now, he claims, she’s his wife. The doctor warned of possible memory loss.

Yet everything feels off: the mismatched furniture in this isolated farmhouse, Evan’s calm insistence that she stay put, and “aunt” Mary’s urgent warning - “This isn’t your home. You need to get out now” - all trigger Cora’s instincts. She begins to question everything.

Homer WTF

Deception & Plot Twist

It turns out the woman we’ve been following - the one we thought was Cora - is actually Gabrielle, the housekeeper, suffering from dissociative amnesia.

The real Cora? A ruthless con artist who had been slowly poisoning Mary to inherit her estate. When Gabrielle began to suspect the truth and confronted her, Cora shoved her down the stairs.

Evan, believing he was protecting others from Cora’s cruelty, made a chilling decision: he manipulated Gabrielle into thinking she was Cora Harrison, fabricating an entire identity for her. Meanwhile, he locked the real Cora in the basement and kept her drugged and hidden - sealing her behind a freshly painted wall in a room he claimed was off-limits.

One night, Gabrielle explores the basement and discovers it isn’t abandoned or damaged - it’s immaculate. Behind a locked door, she finds the real Cora, who immediately escapes and warns, “I’m not safe here.”

Gabrielle’s unsteady memories continue to unravel when she finds a hidden USB. On it, a grainy video plays: someone suffocating Margaret. Off-screen, a voice cries out, “Cora, what are you doing?” - and when the woman in the video turns around, Gabrielle sees it isn’t herself.

It’s the real Cora. The one Evan kept imprisoned.

Cora? The world tilts as the woman turns around. It’s not me at all. It’s her. The woman Evan had kept locked in the basement. But if she’s Cora…

Spiderman point

The truth crashes down: Gabrielle never hurt Margaret - Cora did. But Evan, desperate to protect others and conceal what really happened, orchestrated the entire charade.

After the dust settles, Gabrielle visits Cora in prison. And in a final twist, we realize: Gabrielle learned a few things from Cora.

She remained by Mary’s side until her death - long enough to be written into her will. Why? Because Mary co-founded the insurance company that refused coverage for Gabrielle’s dying mother.

In the final scene, Gabrielle kneels at her mother’s grave and pulls out a piece of folded paper. On it is a short list of names. She takes a pen and crosses out Mary’s name - a mirror of the same ritual Evan and Cora followed with their victims.

Baby shocked

Final Thoughts

Not His Wife is a psychological thriller that thrives on its layers of deception and shifting identity. Sweeping, short chapters keep you off-balance and breathless, each lie unraveling just as a deeper truth takes its place.

By the time Gabrielle uncovers her true identity - and the twisted reality she’s been trapped inside - you’ll be questioning everything you thought you knew.

Overall Rating: 4.5★

If you love thrillers that play with memory, morality, and identity, Not His Wife delivers in spades. It’s dark, gripping, and uncomfortably plausible.

Not His Wife by LG Davis, when Cora wakes up from I assume coma she is greeted by a stranger who she soon learned is her husband Evan. Living in the home with her is his aunt Mary and soon there will be a housekeeper that also comes to the home but when she gets better and starts meeting the neighbors she learns their living in a woman named Margaret Tukes house and the people who tell her this insist Margaret would’ve never left her home. her husband Evan seems to be very loving and considerate but she finds certain things from journal entries to pictures to other things that caused her to believe her husband isn’t all he pretends to be. He’s a published psychiatric author who people say his practices are dangerous but Cora doesn’t know what to believe and by the time she learns the truth she will wish she would’ve kept all her suspicions to herself. two things I love or books by LG Davis and books about amnesiac victims and despite this one having a few holes in it such as why wasn’t Cora in the hospital but on the other hand I guess when you’re doing something devious and underhanded you wanna keep it contained to your house as much as possible. also I thought when Donna messaged her that that was going to be a game changer but you’ll have to read the book to find out what it actually was. it is so weird the way an author can write a book with plot holes and I will be so forgiving and like I still love the book it was still great such as this one but then other authors will write books with one misspoken quote or something Ithink inaccurate and I will dissect it like the coroner in front of a new murder victim. Having said that needless to say I absolutely loved this book then again I love all LG Davis’s books. They’re always so filled with twist OMG moments and this one is no exception. When they say in the tagline it is a gasp out loud ending they’re absolutely correct because I have to be honest and say when it ended that I was like wow!!!#NetGalley, #Bookouture, #TheBlindReviewer, #MyHonestReview, #LGDavis, #NotHisWife,

So much potential… but too many plot holes.

A woman wakes up from a coma — at home. Not in a hospital. Not under any kind of medical supervision. Just… in a bed, next to a man she doesn’t recognise, who calmly tells her he’s her husband. What hospital discharges someone who’s still in a coma?!

From there, the story demands a lot from the reader in terms of suspension of disbelief.

We soon learn this so-called “husband” is a psychologist who specialises in manipulating people’s sense of reality. Red flags, anyone? But instead of wondering if she’s been kidnapped or manipulated, the main character becomes obsessed with a journal entry from an elderly “relative” with dementia… about a missing sewing machine. That’s her clue something might be off. Not the total amnesia. Not the unfamiliar house. Not the random man claiming to be her spouse. The sewing machine. Sorry, TOO WEIRD!

Then there’s the “birds chirping” in the basement — which turns out SPOILER to be a woman whistling. While locked in a basement. Not screaming or shouting HELP. Just… cheerfully whistling like she’s freaking Snow White??? Sorry, not buying it!

The psychologist angle had the potential to be really dark and interesting, but the story doesn’t go there. Instead, it focuses on some pretty weird scattered breadcrumbs that never really add up. The logic continues to unravel — we’re supposed to believe a doctor went along with this plan, and that a building contractor overlooked a hidden basement, and somehow the whole town confuses Gabriella for Cora despite no clear resemblance being included in the narrative?

The premise was great, and I wanted to love this. But in the end, it felt like a thriller held together with loose threads. Too many plot holes. Too many “Wait, what?!” moments. All the ingredients were there for something chilling and clever — but for me, it just didn’t land.

When Cora Harrison woke up the first thing she sees is a handsome stranger dressed in blue and silver satin pajamas standing over her. He whispers “Welcome home darling. I’m Evan your husband.”
He tells her she had a fall and has been in a coma for two weeks and woke up but drifting in and out of consciousness. The Doctor says will probably experience temporary amnesia.
She currently doesn’t remember anything including her own name.

Cora kept me curious. I have no doubt she was also trying so hard to find something that is familiar ~ something – anything that she could remember!

I read a lot of thrillers so am suspicious of everyone.
In Ms. Davis’ “A Letter from Liz” she tells us that she hopes readers have a good time unraveling the secrets of ‘Not His Wife’.
This made laugh – Yes! I did enjoy it– however I didn’t exactly have it unraveled!!

This my fifth Liz Davis story. The other four were great earned 4+ or 5 Stars! They were all great page turners. She does not disappoint and just like in the past – she leaves me wanting to read her next story!

About the Author:
L.G. Davis (Liz Grace) creates fast-paced, unpredictable, twisty-turny, psychological thrillers set in small towns. She strives to create characters that feel so real that her readers would want to meet them in real life. She loves to set her thrillers in small towns that, at first sight, look picturesque, but upon closer inspection, dark secrets and dangerous minds threaten the residents.

One of the worst things a person can experience, in my opinion, is waking up and not being able to remember anything. You're completely dependent on the people around you because your mind feels like a dark room where someone locked the door and threw away the key. You're on edge, because you sense that something isn't quite right, yet you can't pinpoint what exactly is going on. What you do know is that you want to get to the bottom of the hornet’s nest you've landed in.
This is the situation Cora finds herself in at the beginning of this thrilling book. She has several pieces of the puzzle, but when she tries to put two and two together, the result is not four. Quite the opposite…

And just like that, I was drawn deeper and deeper into the story, as if I had stepped onto swampy ground. Cora finds clues, but, just like me, she couldn’t make heads or tails of them.

That someone belonged on my list of untrustworthy characters was obvious, but what this person’s goal was—I had no idea.

The only thing I could do was wait for the moment Cora would suddenly unlock the door to her memory and finally release us all from our suffering. ;)

If I had to answer the question of why I love reading books by this author, I wouldn't need to think twice. She always manages to sweep me along with her creativity and the effortless way she puts her ideas into words. Her stories move me, and her plot twists are to die for.

So for me, this is another bullseye in the five-star category.

Thank you

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy.

Cora wakes up from a coma and learns that she had an accident and suffers from amnesia. She’s surrounded by people she’s supposed to be close to but she doesn’t recognize any of them. There’s her husband so caring and patient (the pet names are nauseating), her husband’s aunt who suffers from dementia, and a caretaker. She’s uncomfortable and since we’re living through her point of view so are we.

I was a bit worried that this book would use the overused trope of « man kidnapped woman and is making everyone believe that she’s his wife », in a way it does use that trope, but with a twist. Several twists actually.

I liked Cora a lot, she’s sharp and caring. A bit too sharp sometimes because she keeps putting herself into risky situations. Evan, the husband was a red flag from the start (the men always are in domestic thrillers), so nice, too nice. He always has an answer for everything and he never leaves Cora alone for too long. Since we only see them through Cora’s point of view, I was suspicious of pretty much everyone we meet, rightfully so because in the end everyone had something to hide.

I’m gonna be honest, the first twist was disappointing, too easy and it left too many questions in the air. I like to suspend reality when reading a thriller, but not that much. Thankfully the following twists make up for it, it’s still a little bit too crazy to be realistic, but in a fun and satisfying way. I LOVED the ending. It was dark and unexpected.

When Cora wakes up after a terrible accident, all memory of her life before is gone. With amnesia, Cora must rely on a man who is telling her he is her husband Evan, but she doesn't recognize him. As Cora goes about exploring the farmhouse where she is told she lives, Cora finds another woman's things. When Evan tells her that they belong to the woman who lived in the farmhouse before, Cora begins to dig a bit deeper. Why would this other woman leave so much stuff behind, including a locket and some photos? As Cora continues to piece together who she is and what came before, Evan's Aunt drops a bombshell on Cora, telling her that she needs to get out because she's not his wife. But what happens when Cora's memories come back?

L.G. Davis is a highly underrated author in my opinion. This is the third or fourth book that I have read and they just keep getting better! From the first page, I was hooked! The good old smnesia trope can be overplayed, but with this story it felt original. As we start to unravel who Cora is and what happened, the tension and suspense build beautifully. One way that Davis excels in her thrillers is how she creates the stifling claustrophobia that stays with you. The twists are well executed and just when you believe you have a handle on what's going on, she pulls the rug out from underneath you! Overall, I would definitely recommend to readers who want to read a tight twist filled domestic thriller!

Thank you to NetGalley, L.G. Davis, and Bookouture this Arc! Publication date is July 15th 2025.

After a devastating accident, Cora has no recollection of her past life but her husband is so caring and fills in the gaps in her memory that she can’t help but trust him. With her husband’s elderly aunt Mary also living with them at their remote farmhouse, Cora feels that she must try her best to regain her memory so she can help with Mary’s care but then she starts to hear mysterious noises coming from the basement and pretty soon the tension really starts to creep up so that you are never really certain what is truth and what are cleverly constructed lies.

This is the type of book that you want to read in one sitting as the shocks, once they start, really do come thick and fast until you are almost afraid to turn the page for fear of what’s going to happen next. I thought all the characters in this complex plot were really well described, Cora comes across as a person who is so lost and alone and yet even though she suspects that there something going on, it’s just out of reach, and she can’t discover what is happening in this house of horrors ,until it’s too late.

Not His Wife is a suspenseful locked room thriller in which all the participants blur the boundaries in a compelling story which is clearly written by a writer who knows how to keep up the momentum of a complicated plot whilst revealing just enough clues to keep you turning the pages faster and faster.

A woman wakes up in a bedroom, with no recollection of who she actually is and why she ended up in the bedroom. A man sitting beside her, tells her that her name is Cora and that he is her husband Evan. Evan tells her that she had an accident and is suffering from amnesia which explained why she doesn't remember anything. As Cora is getting used to the surroundings, she couldn't help feel that something is wrong in the house. A woman claiming to be Evan's great-aunt tells Cora that she is not actually Evan's wife. And something is going down in the basement.

This was an interesting and fast paced thriller that you couldn't put the book down. You have Cora and then you have another character named Gabrielle who is struggling financially. We have another woman who seemingly disappeared mysteriously. And then we have a family, who claimed that the farmhouse belong to someone else. This was intriguing as well and the whole book was filled with twists and turns.

The ending was the biggest twist and the most unexpected one as a matter of fact. I didn't really expect that type of ending at all.

Overall this book is worth 4.5 stars.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

I wake up in a dark bedroom, gazing into a strangers amber eyes. He runs a hand down my cheek and whispers something that melts my heart "Welcome home darling, I'm your husband." My whole life until this moment is gone. I have amnesia after a terrible accident, and now I have to trust what my husband, Euan, says. But everything feels wrong, from the moment he gives me the name "Cora," to the home he says I loved. As I explore our sprawling old farmhouse, I find another woman's belongings, and Euan says they belonged to the woman who lived here before us. Then I hear something in the basement that sends a shiver down my spine.

When I picked this book up, I couldn't put it down again until the last page had been turned. It's a reasonably quick read. Most of the story is told from Cora's perspective. Some parts feel a bit slow. Everything was explained by the end of the book. The twists were good. There was another great twist in the epilogue. I enjoyed the plot.
