4 - Hey Laz,
Thanks for the hot beef injection.
Yours,
Syd.
Stars!

Christine Bell is one of those authors whose books that when you pick up too read, you know you aren't going to be disappointed.

"Tonight I'm going to be wild. Because that's how you make me feel."

She always to manages to give you characters, that no matter how dark and damaged, or just plain middle of the road they are, you fall in love with them, you want to know more about them, and you want them to get the happily ever afters that they deserve.

I think it is mainly because from whatever walk of life they come from, she makes them approachable, she get's you get into their heads, gives you the story that they deserve, and brings a whole lot of feelings and emotions to each and every one of their journeys.

I liked Laz's vulnerability, even though he was world famous, and known to everyone, he still just wanted to be liked/loved for the man he was and not the persona he portrayed. Syd was the perfect woman for the man behind Rockstar.

"I like you, Syd. And I'm a little like a teenage boy right now because all I keep thinking is that I hope you like me, too."

Reforming the Rockstar ticks all of the boxes and then some for this reader. I can't recommend it highly enough. I hope the next book in the Head Over Heels series is of the same standard.

My Reforming the Rock Star Review ...

Ok, So here is the scoop. I got asked to review this book and I was all yeah!!! Rockstar then as I was reading it and I was like 'what am I reading why does it feel like I am missing something vital?'  So, I went on the hunt on Goodreads to find this book but I couldn't find it until it was under a different Christine Bell which confused me, then I went to the Entangled page and that Christine Bell was the same as the one on GR without this title under her so I was 'Ok, whatever'  about that but then, I couldn't find the first book.  After I read the book did I finally find out that book one was from a different author Ally Blake and the book was called Resisting the Musician.  I feel like this book would have been way better with reading this first book first.

Now to the actual book.... Hmmm it was a very quick paced love story but not very memorable.  There was a rock star named Laz who was once burnt so in turn didn't want a relationship.  There was a chef who had no self value and a shitty past so she didn't think she deserved anything good.  Blah Blah! You get it.  But once they meet. Boom! They both a turn a new leaf and have a very quickly escalating can't live without you relationship.

It had all the elements of insecurities, angst, friendship, doubt, passion and love but it was just a meh for me.  It was too quick paced and I didn't feel the connection or bond between characters not having read the first book.

For me, it was sweet but meh!

Sydney Metcalf, is just starting out with her new catering business. When her closest friend gets engaged, her friend asks her to be the caterer. At first Sydney, refuses, but knowing that this would be a great opportunity to get her name out there. She knows that she will have to step up and show the wedding party and guest that her catering is the best of the best, and then she ends up working with Lazlo Stone, the best man, and rock star. After cooking a feast for the bachelor party, she ends up sprawled out of the window right in front of Laz's feet. Lazlo Stone, is a rock star, and loves music and his band. When his close friend and band member ends up engaged, he is more than ready to escape city life for a time and get some freedom from the reporters. When he meets Sydney, he finds himself intrigued. She isn't his normal woman, but he sees beneath her exterior, and sees a woman that is passionate and loving. As their romance blossoms, Sydney wonders if its too good to be true? Will she be able to trust in the man that adores her above everything else, or will her doubts get in the way of a future together?

After reading this, I kept saying to myself...how is this the first time I have read this author? Lately I have been getting into the rock star romances, and I really loved this one. There was something so real and vivid about the story that instantly pulls you in. This would probably be one of my favorites from this style of contemporary romance. There were so many moments that just had me laughing, these two were a hoot!! I just couldn't get enough of them. Lazlo, is one sexy hero...I mean he is sweet yet dangerous, tender and fierce, and a deeply sensual man. Who wouldn't love him right? Well he also has something else going for him...Sydney. I adored the way he was with her. Here we have this sexy and hot rock star, and the one woman he picks, is someone that doesn't care about hair or makeup, one who is imperfect, doubts herself, impeccable chef, and a woman in need of love more than anyone. He sees beneath her plain Jane exterior, and sees the beauty within. That was probably one of my favorite aspects. In so many stories, the heroine is just perfect body, and gorgeous looks, but I loved how in this story that wasn't the case. The characters seemed so much more realistic in the story, seemed like normal people, who have struggles but still try to make a good life for themselves...what couldn't you love right? Sydney...well she has flaws, but she was so easy to relate with, and my heart just went out to her. She struggles with self doubt, and I enjoyed seeing her really flourish in the story. In the beginning you wonder if she is your typical heroine, that just has superficial issues. However as you delve deeper in the story, you begin to see her past, and why she is the way she is. I loved seeing her turn from a shy, reserved, woman who constantly doesn't feel worthy of anyone...into a strong and independent woman willing to fight for herself and the man she loves.

There was such a sense of warmth and realism that just provokes the reader for more!! A page turner, and a story that I guarantee will make you fall at its feet!! A romance to cheer for!! A Unique and Unforgettable story!!! BRILLIANT TALENT!!

Reforming the Rock Star is another great addition to Christine Bell's repertoire and left me grinning like a fool.

Lazlo Stone...what an unexpected treat he was! Our 6'3" brute of a rock god is a bit of a softie. Underneath a chest that dreams are made of (I have a great imagination), lies a huge heart and I loved every protective, sweet, dirty, witty ounce of him. And when he meets the chef for his band mate and best friends wedding (also the brides BFF), I'm not the only one that did some swooning, because Sydney Metcalf is a bit smitten too. But why would someone as hot and popular as Laz look twice at Syd - happiest creating culinary delights in her sweats?

"What to do you say Syd? Want to come back to the house? We can get you out of that tight skirt, I'll feed you, and then we can see if we can cook together?"

Sexy, witty and heartfelt, the actual storyline didn't hold any huge surprises but Laz and Syd's personalities, traits and feelings did and there was nothing not to love about either. As I have found with all Christine's novels, the dry humour and chemistry shines and yes, it's a little tamer than some of her offerings, but what passion we do get sizzles. And the epilogue...as a complete epilogue junkie I boarded the train to Happy-land (still grinning like a fool).

All in all Reforming the Rock Star was an enjoyable entertaining read. It's worth mentioning that it follows on from Resisting the Musician written by Ally Blake but can be easily read as a standalone. In all honesty, Christine has saved the characters that appeared in the first book as they didn't particularly endear themselves to me and I can't wait to see what Robin Covington brings to the table with Rocky and Lita's story.

Callie, her sister Lori, and Sydney grew up at Shady Maples trailer park, Fairbanks, Montana —in dilapidated double-wides (had to look up the term) with nothing to eat.
During that period of her life sharing impoverished circumstances with friends made life seem just a little less desperate.

She recognised that she wanted to make a career of making food to make others happy.

Unwillingly, she agreed to attend Callie’s rehearsal dinner and wedding at Fairbanks, out of love and loyalty, promising to organise their menus.

A place riddled with bad memories and people. Sydney is incapable of handling the bevy of women vying for his attention and seemed intent on keeping her emotions intact.

This was less on the wedding and more about Sydney and Laz. Mediocre story.

Reforming the Rock Star? should have been called Reforming the Plain Jane... To me, Sydney seemed to have a lot more to deal with & overcome than Laz did. He was in it from the start while she was holding back & dwelling on the past.

a good fun read!!

Favorite quotes: “If you’re not sure, Syd, you can sleep on it. Think it through. But I wanted you to know that I’m sold on the idea, hook, line, and sinker. And I haven’t stopped wanting to do this since the second I saw you climbing out that window.”
Thoughts: I love Christine Bell and her Entangles titles! Lazlo is a different from the average rockstar, and Sydney isn’t your average Plain Jane – which makes this a better than average romance with two interesting and intriguing characters! There’s just enough misunderstandings and craziness to keep you intrigued and reading, and just enough sweet and poignant moments to give you that feel-good romance. Just a fun, fun read!

This book was good. I liked it but didn’t love it I think there was something slightly lacking in the characters. They weren’t either quite likable or unlikable just part of the story. Wish it had been just a bit spicier.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. In no way did this sway my review or my rating!

Christine Bell is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors to read. With two of her adult books and one of her YA books under my belt, I feel confident that if I buy a book with her name on it, it's going to suck me in, it's going to be fun, and I'm going to love it. It's been true three times now and I can't wait to buy and read more.

I instantly liked Sydney. In the kitchen she's confident and alive, strong and talented. Outside of the kitchen she's a bit awkward and a whole lot of no self worth. She doubts herself in all areas in life stemming from how her and her two best friends grew up, the type of childhood they had. She puts on a smile and tries fool everyone but really she only fools herself. She hides behind, what she views, as being plain, baggy clothes, no makeup, that sort of thing. Her transformation made me smile.

Laz was all sorts of sexy. When I think rock star I always expect the guy to be cocky, maybe a bit of a jerk and of course a huge male slut. Sure Laz is confident and sure of himself but he's also sweet and protective and caring. With everyone. He thinks about everyone's feelings before he acts including his friends and band mates. There wasn't an ounce of jerk in him and he really wasn't even a slut. It was just a case of due to a really bad past experience he felt like his career and lifestyle just didn't work with relationships. He hadn't and didn't think he ever would meet a woman that would make it worth the risk. I really, really liked this guy.

There was a slight bit of...well I guess I can't really say all out insta-love, but these two did fall fast. I feel like a week was just too quick. Granted they were hauled up at an estate for two weeks so during that week they were around each other a lot. There was time to get to know each other a bit but I felt like a lot of the alone time was spent hooking up, not all of it just a chunk. Don't get me wrong the romance between these two was seriously sweet and it had me giving happy little sighs more often than not, my only complaint would be how quick it got from 'this will just be a fun hookup' to 'I love you' you know?

This book was funny and sweet and very hot and steamy. I couldn't put it down once I cracked it open. I'm not sure how I feel about reading the other books in the series since each book in the trilogy is by a different author. I'm definitely intrigued by the other characters they're going to be about but I just don't know. Had they all been by Christine Bell I'd have been right on top of it. I definitely recommend this one for those of you looking for a quick and steamy read. Sure they fall fast but it's totally worth the read.

Thank you Entangled for approving this book for me!

Fledgling caterer Sydney Metcalf can’t say no when her best friend asks her to cater her lavish wedding, even though the idea of returning to her hometown is less than appealing. Her devotion wins out, and things seem to be going well when best man and sexy rock star Lazlo Stone calls with a request to provide food for the bachelor party too. Syd is consumed with thoughts of making everything just right, but Laz is intrigued by the sweet and sexy voice on the other end of the line. When a mix-up occurs that has Laz thinking Syd is the stripper, the two are thrown together. After a drunken kiss, Laz can’t stop thinking about Syd, and will go to any lengths to be near her. Things get intense as Syd’s past and Laz’s rock star present collide, and Syd must decide if she can handle a relationship with a superstar.

Although the actual storyline didn’t hold any great twists or turns, with a fairly straightforward famous-man-falls-for-hometown-girl plot, the beauty in this delightful novel is in the characters.

I absolutely fell in love with Sydney, who is not only whip smart and determined to make a life for herself, but also just the right amount of fumbling and unsure of herself. Her backstory was what made her such a compelling character, with her determination to make a better life for herself after a rough childhood. Going back home to face the people and situations of her tortured past was a challenge, and I loved seeing her overcome.

I also loved the wonderful friendship between Sydney and her best friend Callie. It is refreshing to see a strong female friendship in a romance novel, and this one does an excellent job of supporting the plot and moving the story forward. Some of the sweetest moments of the book are recollections of their childhood together, and I loved how Callie stood by Sydney with all of the confidence in the world in both her catering abilities as well as her chances at love.

Speaking of love….Laz….holy heck! Lazlo Stone is everything you could possibly ask for in a romantic lead. He’s 6’3” of rock god beauty, and has a sweet heart to boot. The author has done a wonderful job of showing both sides to this man, from his initial interactions with his band mates, showing his manly side, to his sweet infatuation with Sydney, showing that tender heart. The chemistry between Sydney and Laz is immediate and sizzling, with one of the hottest moments in the book being when they share a bed, but have no sex. The buildup to their first sexual encounter is a slow burn, leading up to a smoldering love affair.

I totally swooned with the ending of this book, as Laz comes up with the perfect solution for keeping his sweet Sydney by his side, despite the demands of a music tour.

The rock star hero is one of my favorite tropes in romance literature, and Christine Bell has done a wonderful job of delivering compelling characters within the rock and roll world. Equal parts sexy and sweet, Reforming the Rock Star has something for everyone.

Laz doesn't do relationships. His last one was disaster from the minute the band made it big. Her lack of trust in him drove her to harm. Not only did he lose the first girl he'd fallen in love with, he lost any confidence he had that a long-distance relationship with another woman would ever work. Meeting Sydney, his librarian stripper nurse (his words, not mine, lol), changed his perspective. Convincing her they'd work out... Well, that was going to take a little bit of time and a whole lot of effort. But she was worth it.

Sydney doesn't understand Laz at all. He's a rock for Pete's sake and could have any woman he wanted. She's plain, average, and a caterer. Her past wasn't the greatest. The emotional and mental scars she has show how much she dealt with growing up, and how they affect her still. None of that could hardly be considered attractive. So why was he so interested in her?

Ms. Bell wrote this story so Syd is seen from different angles: her own and Laz's. The views couldn't have been more different. Through Laz's eyes, I saw a woman who was beautiful because she was herself, who was confident in her job, who possessed a wicked sense of humor and a healthy dose of intelligence. But I also saw a woman who would slip into the skin of an insecure and unsure little girl. The smiles and wisecracks and confidence would literally disappear right before my eyes. More than once I wondered, "Where the hell'd she go?" Laz saw all of this and his attraction to her never lessened.

From Syd's standpoint, I got to know a woman who was passionate about her work and her business. The enthusiasm she displayed just when talking menus made me smile. So those moments when she was small and felt uncertain or inadequate really tore me apart. I didn't like that person because it's not the woman I grew to like.

I love how Laz and Syd worked through their issues, coming to terms with their respective pasts and understanding they don't have to affect their futures. And I really appreciated Laz's resolve to wait for Syd after a misunderstanding caused them to separate for a bit. The belief that he wasn't meant for a long-distance relationship dissolved when Sydney became the center of his world. Any insecurity she felt about being with him melted when he proved how far he would go to be with her.

I enjoyed every page of this story. It wasn't what I was expecting at all. I thought I'd be reading a much darker rock star romance. Instead, I got a sweet and sexy rock-star-girl-next-door romance that kept my attention and had me falling in love with its memorable characters.

"Reforming the Rock Star" is the second book in the "Head Over Heels" series from Entangled Indulgence and was written by bestselling author Christine Bell. The book can be read as a standalone but if you're like me and you prefer reading all the books in a series and in the correct order, go ahead and check out book one, "Resisting the Musician" by Ally Blake. ^.^

Sydney Metcalf has always wanted to escape her past, filled with memories of being bullied in school and living in less than desirable conditions in a trailer park. She's slowly but surely building her catering business, A Lil' Taste of Heaven, and while she's initially apprehensive at being asked by her best friend, Callie Hanover, to cater not just her wedding reception but the numerous events leading up to the nuptials, Sydney decides to take the task on, knowing it will help drum up business for her. What she doesn't count on is meeting Lazlo Stone.

Laz Stone leads a pretty charmed life as part of The Rift, a world famous rock band. He has money, fame, and women. The one thing he shies away from is getting into a long-term commitment with just one woman, having experienced first-hand what his life as a musician can do to someone in his life. When he first meets Sydney Metcalf, he's taken in by her sexy librarian look and immediately thinks she's a stripper for his best friend's bachelor party. When he gets to know her better, he realizes just how beautiful she is on the inside as well.

I loved Sydney and Laz's story! Sydney has her fair share of insecurities, no thanks to the rotten childhood she had, but Laz's encouragement to make her realize what a beautiful woman and talented chef she is showed that this rock star is a good looking guy with an exceptionally good heart. They have that chemistry that's needed by romantic pairings in any medium, making their coming together as a couple more realistic and believable.

The story speaks to me, what with Sydney having to overcome her own fears and doubts to go after what she wants and Laz being able to forgive himself for what happened in the past and realizing that history doesn't necessarily have to repeat itself. This book was about two people afraid to take certain risks but needing to do so to find the happiness that they've been searching for in their lives. It was an enjoyable and satisfying read. "Reforming the Rock Star" gets four stars out of five! ♥

What do you do when you feel obligated to go back to the one place you couldn't wait to leave? How do you face and deal with the past you never asked to have? These are a couple of the questions that the heroine, Sydney, asks of herself. She agrees to stand up with and cater her best friend's wedding to a rock star. She figures she needs the exposure for her business that this wedding will give her. The only catch is that she'll have to go back to her hometown. The hometown where she was the trailer park girl with the horrible clothes and the drunk whore of a mother. The girl who was always hungry but always a fighter.

Lazlo is part of the rock band that is part of the wedding. His best friend is the groom. The band itself is going through some rough issues and there's talk of a break up. Lazlo is thrilled that they will all be together for these couple of weeks for the wedding. It will give them time to bond again and relax. Imagine his surprise when a girl that he thinks is a stripper falls out of a window and into his life.

This wasn't a bad book, but for me, it just didn't work well enough. I like my rock stars to actually need reforming. I never felt Lazlo was in need of being reformed. He was a pretty good guy. He had a bad thing happen to him early on in his career but he wasn't harden by it. If anything, he handled it amazingly well. Sydney was a great heroine. She was emotionally scarred with awful self image problems that plagued her throughout the book. But she never lost her endearing nature. I even cried for her more than once.

Now my next issue that made me not love this book was the sex in the beginning. Their first sex scene was rushed and honestly, boring. I thought to myself that if this was as good as it gets, I was gonna be pissed. The sex did get better but by that time my view was tainted. Maybe that's unfair but I call them like I see them. I've read a lot of rock star romance and I know what I feel works. This for me was not it. If you like rock star romance lite, you might like it.

Syd agrees to cater some of her BFF Callie’s wedding back in their hometown, which brings some bad memories for shy and slightly frumpy Syd. During the bachelor party, Laz Stone, guitarist for the band The Drift, meets Syd, and mistakes her for a stripper when she’s climbing out of a window. Then, romance.

The Good
-Rocker romances are an easy sell for me: Laz and the boys of the Drift were enough to draw me in.
-Syd and Laz have good chemistry: when Syd relaxes, there is good chemistry between them.
-Laz is awesomely protective of Syd: his defense of Syd, and his genuine attraction to her helped sell the romance. I loved that he was cautious but he didn’t let his past stop him from getting closer to Syd.
-foodie details: yes, I watched Chopped and other cooking shows, so some of the dishes Syd was making made me want to get up and start cooking.
-Part of a series: It’s not a cliffy, and there is a HEA.

The Bad and Everything In Between
-Part of a series: But I think it would have helped me appreciate the story more reading the earlier book.
-Predictable: as soon as the bombshell batshyte crazy “friend” of the band shows up, it was very clear where the big Mis was coming from. There are no surprises.
-Syd’s insecurity can overwhelm the narrative at times: my biggest issue with Syd is her lack of faith in herself. For a woman who has started her own business, friends who love her and she spent alot of time beating herself up. Considering how litte she loved herself, it’s hard to see Laz falling for her. When their relationship and connection could have been fleshed out, it was told to me not shown. For example, there was an important conversation with Laz where she discusses her past treatment by mean girls, treatment that’s led to her feelings of inadequacy. It would have been nice to read Sydney verbalizing her past and the things that had happened, but I was only told about it.
-if suffers from rocker romance comparisons: reminds me of Kylie Scott’s series, but it’s not as solid.

The Bottom Line
I liked it, even if I wasn’t blown away by it. I’d read the other books in this series.

I was given a copy of Reforming The Rock Star by Entangled in exchange for an honest review.

It's more 3.5 than 4, but I didn't think it needed to be rounded down.

Reforming The Rock Star has everything I love in a good romance, a hot hero, a relatable heroine, humor and a fun story. Sydney Metcalf's best friend is getting married and wants nothing more than for Sydney to be apart of her big day. Originally meant to be a bridesmaid, Sydney made a deal with her friend to cater the event instead. Thinking she can stay in the kitchen for the two-week event, she isn't prepared for the persistence of the best man, rock guitarist Lazlo Stone.

Laz doesn't do relationships. He's not entirely against them, but he knows his life style and career choices are not conducive to building a strong relationship. But when he meets Syd, he's drawn to her like a moth to flame. He thinks about her nonstop and just wants to be around her. She brings something out in him that hasn't been there for some time and makes him realize that he wants something more out of his life.

Reforming The Rock Star is a rather quick read. Between the banter and the awkwardness that is Syd, I kept turning the pages just to see what happened next. Rock Star is just a fun read. Yes, it has its seriously moments, but they don't detract from the overall feel of the book. In fact, I think it adds more to the story because you get to know Laz takes his life more seriously than the stereotypical rock star. He's not a bad boy, if anything, he's a good guy. Syd is very relatable for readers. She's insecure because of her upbringing, but is able to get past that. She's in love with her career and will do anything for her friends.

Overall, I really enjoyed Rock Star. If you're down for a fun, sexy read, it's definitely for you.

I received this book from Net Galley for an honest review.

I love rocker books and when I was actually on Net Galley getting a different book to read, I saw this one. I clicked on it and asked for a copy because it seemed cute and prolly funny. Well I was right. Laz and Sydney are really funny characters. I was laughing really hard at the begining of the story with her falling out of the kitchen window and him thinking she is a stripping, cat burglar, TMZ reporter....uhm yeah he was a might bit drunk!! But beer goggles aside, Laz knew that Syd was a hottie. He even admits it, much to her shock, when he is being hauled to his room by her.

Laz goes all in after just a few meetings with Syd. He doesn't want love but he is really liking and digging Syd. She doesn't care that he is a rocker but defo gets a smidge nervous at how people perceive her and him being together. There were a few times I got really annoyed by her lack of confidence but I loved Laz and how he stepped up to try and show her she was the one he wanted to be with.

I am not sure if this book is part of a series. I kinda think it may have been because of somments that were made had me believing there may be. However, I didnt feel out of the story at all If there are other books before thsi one. it actually makes me want to research and find out. I love Callie and Jake plus would love to see the rest of The Rift band members stories.

I'm a huge fan of Christine Bell and will read anything she writes. She knows how to write sexy romance stories and has a way of capturing my attention right from the beginning. I really enjoyed reading Reforming the Rock Star and totally adored Laz Stone, the sexy rock star musician. I loved that he did not come off as your typical arrogant, high maintenance rock star; instead he displayed a soft, tender and protective side when it came to Sydney Metcalf. Sydney is back in her hometown catering her best friend's wedding but is having a difficult time forgetting her childhood memories. I liked Sydney and understood why she acted the way she did but her mental insecurities at times was a little too much because she let them rule her every move. She needed to lighten up a bit and enjoy life more. Laz and Sydney were total opposites but they had great chemistry together. I couldn't help but smile in the scenes where they first meet and that had me wanting to see where their relationship was headed since Laz didn't "do relationship" due to his own bad experience. What I did like about Sydney was that she did have a strong, tough backbone despite what she'd been through and could be the woman to help Laz overcome his fear of being in a relationship. Another great story by one of my favorite authors.

Rock stars and romance can be quite a volatile combination. Long hours on the road, adoring and obsessive fans, these can all lead to trust issues. Laz knows this all too well and he has sworn off relationships because of it. But as his band mates and friends begin to fall in love and get married - well, he may just have to re-think his stance on love.

His first meeting the Syd was priceless - it was humorous and sexy and I don't think either will ever forget it. It gets them off to an interesting start to say the least. When he finds out she's actually the best friend of the bride and an amazing caterer to boot - he tries valiantly to resist the attraction. But his band mates think differently and they would love to see the pair hook up for a lifetime.

What I loved most about this story was the lack of unnecessary drama. There was some judgement errors and incorrect assumptions, but most of the issues were about overcoming your past and not letting it rule your future. It was so much fun to watch these two connect and re-gain their confidence and decide to take a risk on themselves and each other.

Stereotypical

Apart from the usual rock star fare, this book has a heroine at the extreme end of doubtful significant other for the rock star. Syd's inferiority complex was so annoying, I started skipping on her self deprecation. We also have the usual tenacious woman who gets into the bed of the hero while he was sleeping, and of course the heroine came in at the inopportune time. Anyways this book is a lot of cliches about the usual rock star book, but not in a good way. Nothing stands out to make this a good read, it is not even an average read. The heroine whines so much, and puts herself down constantly. Syd did not develop a backbone until 93% of the book. Laz is okay, but he is also the usual rock star, described to be swoon worthy, but I didn't feel it. There was no notable musical scene, except for tinny biddy one. No tours, no concerts. The setting was a wedding prep for a member of the band and of course the best friend of the heroine.

In essence what am saying is, their so called romance is hard for me to grasp. It is not believable. They did not have too much playing ground. Mind you at the back of my mind are some of the awesome epic rock star books out there. I did not say follow the plot but make this unique, or more 'authentic'. It's just so so for me.

I’m torn about this book, as there were many things that I liked and some that I didn’t.

To begin with, this book is part of a trilogy, written by three different authors, and following the love lives of three friends. This is not the first title in the series, a fact that is made apparent from the very beginning when you are thrown—a bit abruptly—into a conversation with the heroine and her best friend. Though the book was meant to be a stand-alone, it does not really work as one, and I was left feeling like I was playing catch-up through a great deal of the story.

The initial interactions between our hero Laz, and heroine Syd were entertaining, amusing and even a bit arousing. I loved Syd’s inner monologue, self deprecating though it might be. But I felt that her growth and transformation was odd, as nothing much happened to facilitate it. And I have to say, I do feel that the title of the book is somewhat misleading as, over the course of the novel, Laz did not change anywhere near as much as Syd did.

For the sake of full disclosure it must be stated that I received this book, free of charge, from Netgalley.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun mostly light read with just the right amount of steam. This appears to be book three in a series but can be read as a standalone (I know I did) but your reading experience might be enhanced by reading the earlier books. I enjoyed this one so much that I will be on the lookout for them now.
I loved the chemistry between Laz and Syd. I also loved his single minded pursuit of her, even when he wasn’t sure what else he wanted he knew he wanted her. They both had plenty of baggage they had to sort through but they managed it. I really want to know what Elyse’s deal was and how she managed to keep her place with the band as long as she seemed to have, I mean she was coo-coo for cocoa puffs if you know what I mean. I loved all the friends and secondary characters and I really want to know all their stories.
This was a great read, easily read in an afternoon or evening. I’m very much looking forward to more. I received an ARC from the publisher through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

Christine Bell is a really talented author and once again she delights us with a really awesome story.

This one is about Sydney and Laz. Syd is a caterer and is asked by her best friend to cater at her wedding. At first Sydney is not sure how she feels about this, because the thought of going back to her home town leaves a bitter taste in her mouth....although the exposure from catering at the wedding will do great for her business.

Laz is excited to host the bachelor party for his friend and fellow rock star. When he gets around to meeting the caterer he is even more surprised. Especially when he catches her climbing out the kitchen window.

The attraction is immediate and the chemistry between the two is off the charts and what transpires is a hot little book that will leave you with a perma grin on your face as they two discover the road to love is not always a easy and smooth one...

Highly Recommend!!!!

Sydney Metcalf reluctantly agreed to cater her friend Callie's wedding, in a town she thought she left behind long ago. Callie is marrying a member of the rock band, The Rift. Laz Stone, also a member of the band, calls Syd to arrange food for the bachelor party and as soon as they hear each others voices, the fantasies start rolling. When they finally meet in person, he's drunk and she helps him to bed without having sex with him and they get along from there. A casual fling is sometimes a good thing...right? At least until the feelings stop being casual. Can Syd live with Laz and his rock star life style?

Great characters! I love the rags to riches story of the female characters. They guys in the band are NOT the stereotypical flaky, drug and alcohol abusers. The story has great flow and is an all around feel good romance. I loved it! Thank you Christine Bell for another fantastic read.

I will admit that I really liked Sydney in this book. She was just the perfect, classic beauty that wasn’t too sure if she was beautiful or not. It is something that every girl might struggle with at some point in her life. I think that moment when I realized what a great character Sydney was is when she jumped out of the kitchen window because she didn’t want to run into all the rock star guys and then ends up running into the main guy that she was trying to stay away from, Lazlo.

I will say that while the title states, “Reforming the Rock Star” I do believe that it is the exact opposite. Lazlo really didn’t need to be reformed in my eyes; the reforming that was needed was for Sydney. Lazlo really brought out a different side in Sydney than what the reader was presented in the beginning of the book. They really were a beautiful couple.~BookWhisperer Reviewer MC~

Edit review (ARC provided for an honest review)

Sydney is a young carterer who is forced by her friend Callie to take care of meals for her marriage. Callie and Sydney have been friends since childhood. The wedding takes place in the city of their childhood and it brings up bad memories for Syd. On this occasion Syd will meet Laz, guitarist of The Rift. Syd and Laz are very attracted to each other but it's not so simple for Syd, haunted by his past ...

I really enjoyed reading this book, the characters are very endearing! Syd is strong and Laz is cute :)) but something missing for me, maybe it's a little to short.. I don't really know but I'm gonna read the next book for sure :))

biiig ++++ for the epilogue wooow

We have a Rock god that is Lazlo Stone and a very insecure chef Sydney Metcalf.

I loved how Laz perceived Syd from the beginning and helped to make herself feel more secure in who she was. The guy was nothing but honest from the beginning and the guys backed that up when they needed to.

Syd had many insecure feelings about herself, never thinking she was good enough for anyone in looks or anything, so to have the really good looking Laz after her did kinda confuse her when there are so many nice looking people out there.

A man who would give up everything for you? A man to keep. The epilogue was precious.

This did feel like it should have been part of a series, but its still good as a stand alone.

Syd is catering her best friend's wedding and meets Laz late at night after the bachelor party. There is some serious chemistry going on between them from the very first moment they meet. I loved the sweet kiss he gives her that night right before he goes to sleep and what he says to her afterwards.

Syd has self esteem issues because of what she went through as a child and Laz has commitment issues due to a relationship gone wrong. Even with those challenges they can't help falling for each other as they spend more time together.

I loved that so much of their time was spent in the kitchen where Syd was most comfortable being herself. The flour fight was adorable. Laz makes her feel beautiful and gives her a confidence that she's never had before. Their love story was sweet and sexy.

I give Reforming the Rockstar 4 hearts!

Reforming the rock star is a story about a rock star and a caterer. Interesting right? For Sydney life was never easy. She lived in a trailer and had her two best friends. thats how she made it through. Now her best friend is getting married and is getting married in their hometown. For Sydney returning isn't high on her list. With a lot of insecurities how will she manage?

Laz is part of The Rift. He loves being part of the band but feels its all falling apart. He doesn't know what to do without his music. Being the best man at his friends wedding should be what they need to work out the problems. What he doesn't expect is Syd.

It's a fun read but a little depressing when you deal with insecurities, but it all works out in the end.

Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

So this is the first of the series that I'm reading, and I was definitely aware of that fact. I understand with series that authors have to ride a fine line between not boring fans and not ostracizing new readers, but I felt like I got thrown into this band without any sort of background information. Yes, Laz was gorgeous and kind and yes, Sydney was sweet and librarian-esque, but I had no clue what was going on in the band's dynamics. Likewise, I wasn't even fully sure what her past was like. I just needed more information about everything in general, which is disappointing because I feel like that hasn't been the case with previous books I've read by Bell.
