An imaginative tale of a man who didn't just see the future-he lived it. College student Paul Vance has no idea what he's letting himself in for when he signs up for extra help in his physics class with the mysterious professor Nazar Trobik, a man who seems to be a genus but with skeletons in his closet.

Nicola Tesla...Mark Twain...and a plot so believable = excellent reading!
The Tutor is so well written that you find yourself wishing you could somehow put yourself into the action. This novel has it all - history, science, intrigue, and twists in the plot that keep you hardly able to put it down!
Recently finished reading this fascinating story, The Tutor. It's greatest attribute is that it is unique! It encompasses so many genres: time-travel, science fiction, history, international intrigue, action-packed mystery; and Mr. Buckner has accomplished all of this in a novel with heart. The details in the story are diverse yet are blended as intrinsic to the tale. The author even surprised me by the introduction of a delicious Portuguese tea from Sao Miguel, as well as details of period dress, language, and locales. The portrayal of the environment and political drama in Washington D.C. is spot-on. This is a novel that keeps one on the edge of their seat to the very end, with colorful history and even more colorful characters, including the point of view from young Paul Vance. A novel that should be on the shelves of every bookstore. No spoiler here, but the ending is perfection.
The Tutor is a good book on time travel. There is enough suspense to keep you turning the pages and wanting to find out "what's next". The characters are believable and there's just enough information about them that you realize you don't know everything. The plot leads you in one direction until you get to the twist at the end. The book ends with a wonderful climax that doesn't leave you drifting but wondering what the characters may do in their future. I would highly recommend this book.
