If I could give more than five stars, I would!

Right from the prologue, you're in. I seriously cried THE. WHOLE. TIME!

This book is about a second chance love and what it takes to get there. This journey between Sabrina and Mike, was beautiful. There were times I wanted to choke him. I understood why he would feel some what responsible for Sabrina's situation but when she tells him that she doesn't see things the way he does, BELIEVE HER MAN!

See, I don't know if I could feel the same as her and be as forgiving as she was with him but hey, all women are different. I envy this woman though. She's probably in the top five strongest women I have ever read about.

This book is really an emotional read. I think I cried the majority of the book. Thankfully, the HOT AS HELL sex scenes made up for it.. good lord.. steamy.. ok, let's get back on track ;)

This story is a steal for 99 cents. No! SERIOUSLY, if you bought this book for 99 pennies, you robbed this woman unknowingly because this book is worth so much more! I can't wait for book two. The other characters in this story, we will get more of and I'm super stoked!

Mayra, for a first book, bravo woman! I absolutely loved this book!

+++ 6 SECOND CHANCE STARS! +++

This story stole my breath, made me laugh & cry, & want to punch a hole in the wall! There wasn't a scene or a moment that I didn't cherish. When a story has the ability to make me cry it instantly becomes one of those books that will forever have a special place in my heart. This story was well written, although it had its errors along the way, it just didn't matter because this was one beautiful story! There were also amazing secondary characters that played important roles in the plot.

Sabrina is a widow of three kids who’s had a tragic start. She’s loses her husband to a drunk driver, & after that event, she’s been living through the motions. Four years later, fate brings her a second chance at love, when she bumps into Michael Crown; an attractive, sexy, & beautiful man with salt n’ pepper side burns *sigh*. Oh, & ladies he’s 40!

The attraction between Michael & Sabrina is strong even with the dark burden that Michael lives with; he can’t ignore that pull he feels towards her. As the time passes, their feelings for one another grows, but can the secret that Michael hides be the one thing that destroys their relationship? Hmm you will have to read it to find out ;).

‘Crown’s Chance at Love’ will have you in tears from the very first page. And let’s not forget to mention the very steamy & hot love making scenes *yum*. I hope to be as attractive & sexy as Sabrina Miller when I’m 36 *lol*. For a debut novel, Mayra Statham, I praise & bow down to you. I’m super excited and looking forward to the other books in the series.

Favorite quote:
“You made me feel again, see things in bright colors. Sean’s gone and I mourned him, but life goes on. He will always have a part of my heart, I can’t lie to you and tell you otherwise, but you are there, too.”

This has been one of the hardest reviews I have had to write. Not because the book sucked, in fact it was the total opposite, this book freaking rocks! It was just so hard for me because my emotions where all over the place after reading this story. I became emotionally attached to the characters in a way I have never been before. My heart is still going through the emotions of the book and it’s been 2 days! As I write this review, I feel every emotion all over again and remember the moments I laughed, cried, smiled, cried, needed spare panties (hehe), cried and wanted to drag one twatwaffle in particular after I cried…AGAIN! This is a very emotional read, you feel the things the characters felt as they feel them and you feel this way because the way the story is written. It is simply a beautiful story and I just want to share it with the world. Yes there are a few minor editing problems but nothing that will distract you from the characters and the meaning of this story. The concept of this story and series is based off the six degrees of separation. Mayra does not disappoint in bringing this concept into the story full force! I love connecting stories and characters so this is one series I can’t want to get my hands on completely.

I had to take a break from writing this because everything became real to me again. Now, that I have my emotions somewhat in check we can move on.

Rina as I like to call her, is everything I hope to be at her age.

Beautiful. Realistic. Forgiving. Motherly. Fierce. Sassy. Spitfire in the bed (WHAT? she is!) & Strong.

The strength she shows throughout this novel is unbelievable, she REFUSED to give in and break down no matter what the situation. At all times, you see her being the STRENGTH her kids need even when her world is CRASHING down around her.

Now, I have never been the one to want an older guy. I’m actually hiding a cougar inside of me but Michael Crown, my GOODNESS, Mike is everything I want no, everything I NEED! He is tall, dark with crystal blue eyes, body of a GOD, knows how to PLEASE & TEASE & freaking 40, YEP, 40! I am not ashamed to say that he is one 40 year old I wouldn’t mind taking a LIMO RIDE with <———- read the book and you will understand my reference! Even though Mike quickly made my book boyfriend list and I understood his personal demons he dealt with as well as certain situations that he caused himself and Rina to go through, I did NOT AGREE with one thing in particular. I was furious with him for putting me, I MEAN HER, putting her through that. But Mike is a man who can deliver an apology & boy does he deliver on that one!

The twatwaffle, if I ever see you again I will not be held responsible for my actions!

The kids, I loved them!

Secondary characters, boy does she know how to write them into a story. I loved how they didn’t have small parts but at the same time they didn’t over shadow the main characters! One secondary character in particular was the total opposite of what I first assumed and I ended up liking them just as much as the other characters I fell in love with. Twiddles thumbs as I wait for them to get their own stories!

This is truly a story that I will never forget because it went beyond making me feel something, it touched every part of me. It broke my heart into a million tiny little pieces and just when I felt like I couldn’t go on, it put me back together piece by piece.

I had a hard time on how to rate this book. I loved the storyline and really liked that the main characters were in their mid to late 30's and not mid 20's. However the editing and inconsistencies was hard to get past. I am not usually picky about editing issues but there was so many in this book it was hard to ignore. Also, the over use of certain words. When Mike and his friend are having a conversation they said dude every other word. Dude, It was ridiculous. Dude, intelligent men in their late 30's who run million dollar companies, dude, do not speak like this. Dude, I felt like I was reliving a scene from "Dude, where is my car". Also, how many times did we need to know she was carrying a huge purse. We get it, she is a single mom of three and has to carry a huge purse. Show me a mom who doesn't carry a large purse.
I also noticed a few inconsistencies in the story, one in particular is when Sabrina is trying to figure out if Mike is married she asks about Mrs. Edwards however Mikes last name is Crown. Edwards is the name of his company. I probably would have given this 5 stars if it had been cleaned up some.

This is a must-read romance!

I fell in love with Mike and Sabrina. They both fought their feelings for each other and tried to pretend they were just friends, but it was easy to tell that it was more. I liked how forgiving Sabrina was, even though she probably shouldn't have sometimes, and hated Mike at times, but I really enjoyed their journey. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. I hope Nick gets his story.

4.5 STEAMY STARS

This story seemed to leap right off my kindle. It makes you just want to crawl right into Mayra Statham's mind and demand to know what else she has planned for us.

This story follows Sabrina who is recently widowed with three children. She wakes up one day and realizes her life is no longer how she had planned. No more is the love of her life at her side. Everything going forward she must now face alone. Just going through the motions of sun up to sun down. That is until she runs into Mike Crown. At first you want to shout at her that he wasn't what he seemed but then you just couldn't help to get a little warm and tingly at his smooth talk and oh so smooth way of ravishing her with his attention.

When the secret comes out, Sabrina feels the ultimate of betrayals, but it is Mike who I found myself weeping for. I wanted him to get his chance at redemption and for Sabrina to just hear him out.

This book has everything; friendship, love, steam off the page hot sex and above all value. It shows you what the human heart can stand and live through and what it ultimately will not endure.

Kudos to Mayra Statham for an unbelievable first book. I myself am looking forward to the rest of the series and my newest book boyfriends.

Sabrina Miller is living the most beautiful life. She has a loving husband, beautiful children and devoted friends. That world is shattered on one fall morning when a tragic accident leaves her a widow. She is left broken and battered with her children. She is unable to face the life they had made together so she picks up and moves closer to her family.
Michael Crown has lived with the guilt of that fateful fall day. Could he have done something to prevent Sabrina's loss. He has made it his life's mission to watch over her until one day he knows he can no longer resist not knowing her.
Sabrina believes that the so called chance meeting has changed her life. This beautiful caring man is breaking down her walls and showing her how to live again. That all changes that day she finds out the ugly truth. Is it possible that two tragically broken people can rise out of the hurt and find love with each other after tragedy intertwines their lives.
This is such a beautiful tale how lies and tragedy may turn into the most beautiful thing imaginable !!

Newly introduced to Mayra and couldn't wait to read. Fell in love from the first page. So many emotions. Loved the fact that it was a complete story and wasn't left wondering and waiting for more. Sabrina is a strong character, fantastic mom, and a genuine person you could easily picture as being her best friend. Mike is a great fit for her. it was so easy to get lost in this story, and every time i had to put it down, I couldn't wait to start again. Looking forward to following Mayra and reading more.

**20++ Sexy, Amazing, Unbelievable Stars**

I'm not exaggerating when I say I have found my new favorite author. Mayra Statham's debut novel, Crown's Chance at Love is honestly exactly how I want a book to be done. I read a ton of books and I feel like they all are missing something.. But Crown's Chance at Love meets every single criteria I look for.

Sabrina is trying to over come a huge loss. The loss of her husband just 3 years ago. She has been numb for 3 long years and hasn't really lived her life. She's a busy mom of 3, while also working as an event coordinator. Every day she just goes through my motions until she literally runs into Mike Crown.

Mike is devastatingly handsome at almost 40 years old and Sabrina immediately feels a side of her awaken that hasn't since the death of her husband. Mike is drawn to Sabrina but he also has a huge secret. When they begin a hot and intense relationship, Mike knows his secret could make the one woman he truly cares about walk away. Will their love be enough?

__________________

Now let me tell you something. Not only Mike Crown smokin' hot.. he is every girl's fantasy. He is so incredibly sweet. The stolen touched and kisses through out the book gave me the shivers. It was so sexy!

Sabrina is so strong. I admire her strength to get up every day for her 3 kids after everything she has been through. I loved seeing her come out of her shell and get her spark back. She loved so fiercely. Not only her kids but her friends and family too.

Their relationship wasn't perfect but it felt so real. That is one major thing I loved about this book. It was much more mature. It wasn't about college kids falling in love. It was about adults who had family and careers to worry about. Their lives weren't simple.

Their intimacy was INSANE. I mean off the charts insane. That is the second major thing I loved about this book. I am a sucker for a good intimate scene however they always seems so boring and dry... not the way Mayra Statham wrote them. HECK NO. You need a dang cold shower. I mean, how could actually NOT doing the deed be so dang hot! Not to mention the stolen kisses and the sweet and tender touches. It was just all so perfect.

Favorite Quotes or Lines:

NADBB was asked to review Mayra Stratham's debut, Crown Chance at Love. This book had our
resident reviewer see sawing back and forth on a journey that might have made her sea sick, but somehow she still enjoyed the ride.

Synopsis:
Sabrina Miller has had a hard blow. She's suffering through the loss of her husband, while juggling the sole care of three children and moving on with her life. She finally starts to see the light at the end of a long dark tunnel, when she moves back home to be near family and friends.

Our hero Michael Crown, is everything a book boyfriend should be. Rich, good looking, successful and enough to make our hearts go pitter patter. When Sabrina bumps into (literally) our hero the sparks fly and attraction is instant. Sabrina is drawn to him in a way she hadn't been since her husband. Their connection is hot and steamy.

Review:

The Good:

There is a lot to like about this book.
1. The writer created characters that we could identify with and hurt for.
2. The way the story moves at a pace that never bores you is commendable. This book is over 400 pages and that's not always easy to do, especially by a new author.
3. Creating a hero that has secrets enough to keep us totally hooked and interested.

The Bad:

1. This is a hard one for us. We truly liked this book but it was in need of more editing. Some of the wording was difficult and didn't flow like it should.
2. There were typos and misspelling that detracted from our total enjoyment.

The Rating: Our reviewer loved this book. In fact she wanted the author to know that this would have been her first 5 star rating. Yet, the lack of a good editing held her back. Hopefully we got an early copy, and those changes were fixed. If not look us up and we'll give you some names--because seriously this book has great potential.

Our Rating: 4 stars

Reviewed by Dawn Vickers on behalf of Kindle Friends Forever

Sabrina Miller's world is turned upside down one morning when her husband is tragically killed on his way to work. Left with three children, she focuses on them to get her through each day. With the help of her friend Nick, she gets through it and moves on with her life. Four years later, her world changes again when she bumps into Mike who she instantly feels attracted to. And he to her, but he carries a secret that involves Sabrina. A secret that could destroy everything. They get to know each other, sparks fly between them and they start to fall in love. Sabrina is happy again with Mike by her side. He’s kind, caring, attentive, sexy and gets on well with her children…everything is perfect. However, when his secret comes out, she finds herself devastated all over again. Will she be able to forgive and both of them move forward, or will Mike lose his chance of love with Sabrina? I’m not going to say any more as it will give away the rest of the story!

I loved this book! It’s a story of lost love, loss, friendship and finding happiness again when you least expect it. But about forgiveness, too. The story is well written, and despite the fact that it’s a fairly long read, I never felt bored or had the need to skip pages. It was interesting as there was always enough going on within the story to keep it that way. There’s also an array of secondary characters I hope to see in future books since this is book one in a series. It’s an emotional read so get your tissues ready…. it will break your heart then put it back together again! It’s not all heartbreak though. These two steam things up quite a bit and the sex scenes are smoulderingly hot!!!

For a first book, Myra has done a fantastic job. I loved the way it dragged me through a mill of emotions and so glad I went on Sabrina and Mike’s journey!!! Looking forward to what Myra has planned next!!!

Living in Berkeley, CA with her husband and three children, Sabrina Miller lived a wonderful life. Always adventurous and shining bright with happiness, she lived her life to the fullest for her family. Until one morning in October, her world was turned upside down.

After the sudden death of her husband, Sean, Sabrina is left to pick up the pieces. Sabrina and her children moved back to Pasadena, CA where she has the support of her friends and family to help her get their lives back on track. It has been almost four years since her family was torn apart. In order to cope she has built up walls by throwing her self into her work and taking care of her children.

For almost four years, Michael Crown has lived with a guilt that haunts him every day. This particular haunting causes him to be a man that feels he deserves no happiness. The demons of guilt have driven him to be a shrewd businessman and cold individual.
One day Sabrina and Mike meet each other by chance. The immediate pull they have towards each is undeniably electric. This attraction brings the two of them wanting to explore more.

Sabrina is excited about feelings that once were lost, but feels that Mike is keeping something from her. Mike keeps telling himself that he needs to keep his distance and leave her alone, but he can’t seem to stay away. While building a relationship and opening new doors in their lives, will Sabrina be able to shake the feeling that Mike is hiding something? Will Mike’s past catch up to them and wreck the path their relationship is headed?

Mayra Statham has done a perfect job of bringing two people together after a tragic event. This is a story of love lost, forgiving ones self and second chances. I have enjoyed reading this book and experiencing every twist and turn of the characters. Thank you Mayra for bring a story where I cried, laughed and held my breath at times. Cheers to you for Crown’s Chance at Love. I highly recommend this book!

For me, this was a story about the journey the characters find themselves on as they discover each other and their feelings for each other. It is not an easy journey for either Sabrina or Michael although for different reasons. It is emotional yet at times full of fun and sweetness.

The story starts with profound grief as Sabrina lays to rest her husband who was killed by a drunk driver and contemplates the future for herself and her three children. Tissues needed as you understand the incredible strength Sabrina has in holding things together for the sake of her children. Fast forward three and a half years later, Sabrina is working as an Events Co-ordinator, providing for her family but still just getting through each day. Until she literally bumps into the sexy Michael Crown and sparks literally fly and she begins to see a future with happiness again. Michael, however, is carrying a secret and a lot of guilt that could drive a wedge between them before their relationship has a chance to develop.

Sabrina is a remarkable woman, with her ability to understand and respect others. She has an awe inspiring capacity to forgive and a strength that is just humbling to read. Michael gets a lot of credit for helping Sabrina to finally find peace for herself and to start to live again and he is incredibly sexy. At times though, he did come across as selfish and childish but as you come to understand more about the man, you come to understand the reasons that he acts the way that he does. He has a remarkable capacity to love and be happy if he can come to terms with the guilt that is eating away at him.

There were a few things mentioned that I would have liked to know more about but this was a fantastic debut. With the current trend for short novella series, it was a pleasant change to read a full length novel and be able to immerse myself fully in the characters and their story.

This book was not at all what I thought. When I read the blurb and started reading I thought it be a fun loving make you heart happy book. But was I wrong...

Sabrina is a widow mom of 3 who has a tragic story. She going thru the motions with no spark to her life. Then you meet Mike who has the weight on he shoulders scared by a burden. But there sparks from the beginning for these two. Sabrina brings fireworks and future to Mike life. Mike brings the spark back to her life and a thought of a true family again for her children.

There was Heartbreak, pain, love again, thoughts of dreamy man with sexy hot man. I could fill Sabrina heartbreak for her ex husband, I could feel Mike pain for carrying a burden that was not his to carry and I could feel there magic. I cried with them, I feel there love growing as I read but I also felt the frustration of there relationship.

I loved Mayra Dual POV but she also gave us a story from start to finish I read the story of their relationship from the beginning of sparks flying, to fights and to maybe a HEA.

There were points I thought it was over but then there was always a bang and more of this awesome story. I see this is a series I hope there more books to high light some of this book supporting character because a lot of Mike and Sabrina friends you just fall in love with and make you laugh.

I was given this book for an honest review
SO this book goes thru every emotion you can think of. Sabrina goes thru the ultimate tragedy, she loses her husband in a drunk driving accident. She is left to raise their three children, thankfully with the help of her family and friends, she get thru the 3 years with very little trouble. She has moved and found an amazing job. A chance run in changes her life, she runs into Mike and the sparks fly. He already knows who she is and pretty much everything about her, feels the sparks as well. It throws off his game completely, he knows he shouldn't go further with her but the pull is so strong. They start out as friends, hanging out and doing fun stuff with the kids. The secret he carries is suddenly starting to eat him alive and then soon her best friend learns the truth. He gives him a ultimatium but before he can carry it out, she finds out the truth. Will she be able to trust him and give her heart away to him or should she forget about him cause of it? This book really shows that no matter what happens or how your family act, you should look into your heart and find out what you really want. This book shows that the power of love is stronger than the mistakes you make. I highly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

This is a fantastic debut from new author Mayra Statham.

Follow the story of Sabrina and Mike Crown (whom the book is named after) and their pursuit of heartbreak, acceptance, happiness and love.

Sabrina loses her husband and father to her three children in a horrific car accident by a drunk driver. Left to pick up of the pieces of her and her children’s devastation, Sabrina finds herself moving through the everyday paces of life in a monotonous fashion. Then she meets Mike Crown.

Sabrina has found happiness once again until a secret being kept by Mike comes to light and she finds herself devastated all over again.

Can she forgive and move on from Mike’s secret to find happiness with him and will Mike finally get a chance at love with Sabrina or will the secret be enough to tear them apart and keep them apart for good?

I went through so many emotions with this book and honestly found myself at a crossroads when I put myself in Sabrina’s shoes when she discovers the secret. I still do not know now what I would have done in that situation.

This is an excellent start to a new Series and I’m looking forward to reading the next book when it releases.

This is the debut novel from Mayra Stratham and I really enjoyed it.

The story is about Sabrina and Michael (Mike). Sabrina is a window who’s husband died in a car accident three years. One day Sabrina bumps into Mike in a local coffee shop and there is an instant connection between them. Mike awakens something she hasn’t felt since her husband’s death. Mike however carries around with him a guilt which he has tried to forget . Will Mike’s guilt ruin the connect between Mike and Sabrina or will it make them stronger.

This story seems to have every with a bit of heartbreak, love and laughter. I will instantly sucked in to the story from the beginning. I loved both the main characters. Racheal was a great strong female lead. I liked that the book was told from dual POV as it really added to the story and the author did a really good job describing and putting across the emotions of the characters. I found myself tearing up at one point. The steamy scenes in this book were also particularly hot.

I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series. I hope we get to see more of Rachel and Mike in these books. Overall a emotional read which I would highly recommend reading.

*** Provided on behalf of the author for an honest review ***

Crowns chance at love is about Sabrina who loses her husband in a terrible tragedy…… Leaving behind a wife and 3 small children.

She bumps into what she thinks is by chance a man at Starbucks and they hit it off and learn to get to know each other. Little does Sabrina relies that Mike is keeping a really big secret from her and isn’t sure how to tell her.

It all comes to a head and they work things out and it becomes a happy ever after.

We were asked to review this book on behalf of the Author which sometimes can really suck and sometimes it can be great and fun. This one we found in the middle, we loved the story line of the book we liked the concept it just didn’t do it for us all the way.

After reading the first 4% we were in tears….. yes people in tears it was sad and we thought wow this is going to be a great read and it was a good read we just felt it was to much which we have never ever said before we just felt it was to over the top with explaining the emotion and started to really annoy us which we feel so bad in saying but we have to be honest and it is just our opinion

Okay, so get the tissues before you even start. This is one of the best books I have ever read. So emotional and so good! I was blown away here and am still feeling the emotions of this book. Just thinking about it I start to get teary eyed. I felt so many emotions with Sabrina. I think she is one of the most amazing characters I have ever read. I have no real words to explain just how powerful the emotions you will feel are. Mike is one sexy 40 year old. How can you not fall for this man. The big fault he has is his secret. The guilt he feels over this is huge and affects him and the plot in so many ways. Sabrina and Mikes chemistry is off the charts hot and I loved every second of them together. I don't think you can get better than this in a second chance love book. I don't think you can get better than this with most romance books. I hope that all readers out there pick this book up and give it a shot. I know several people I will be calling to get this book the moment I am done here!!!

Mayra Statham has a gift. She weilds her pen with beautiful use of language, emotion, character development and imagery. I was hooked after the first few pages and though I tried to take my time, the pages flew by.

I have never felt such a strong connection to any character, let alone multiple characters, in a single book. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to smack some people and punch out others. I felt myself rooting for the couple and hoping they would work it out already. She knew her characters very well and that was refreshing.

I throughly enjoyed the back and forth between perspectives...especially during a single event. The story never felt rushed or inconsistent.

The initimate scenes were...HOTT! I have read this particular genre since I was a teenager but I found myself blushing in some of the scenes. That may be because of the depth put into her characters.

This is definetly going in my favorites pile to read again!!!

I really hope she publishes again soon.

WOW!! Powerful love story!! For those of you needing an older couple to relate to instead of the twenty something characters that are so popular in romances today....This book I'd for YOU!!

Thirty six year old Sabrina Miller, a widowed mother of three, has been an empty shell since the death of her husband almost four years ago. Mike Crown, almost fourty, is VP of his father's company. Resently single after a ten year relationship, he's not sure where his life is headed. All he knows is that he can't stay away from the woman who's life he destroyed!
Months after purposely bumping into to her, Mike's world crashes when Sabrina finds out the truth. Trying to further protect her, Mike shatters Sabrina's heart with lies. Will the truth and love they feel for one another be enough to keep them together?
So many emotions....grab your tissues and favorite beverage. Cozy up with this fabulous well written story of grief, lies, love, and family!

DNF.

I came across this book on Amazon yesterday and LOVED the blurb and plot and I one clicked it. After reading last night and today at lunch, I was so frustrated with misspelled words, the change from first to third person and lack of editing that I couldn't finish it.

HOWEVER...I do think that with these things fixed this book could be excellent. It could be a wonderful story between two people. A second chance at life after things had gone so wrong. I loved the characters. I loved the plot, I loved that there were all kinds of things at play in this book. I think that what I read of this story was heartwarming, genuine and very real.

All this being said, I never want to take away from someone's creative vision or detract from their hard work. I know it takes a lot to write a book and I think that the author has a great story on her hands.
