A short, fun chapter book ideal for children age 4-8. Good for new chapter readers.Someone has been stealing Adam's underwear. He knows exactly who- a blue, furry monster! The monster then begins stealing other things. Adam knows the monster must be stopped. But how do you trap a monster that can appear and disappear in an instant? It doesn't quite end how Adam thinks it will!
The mother made the same rule I did with my kids. Loved the story. It would be a good introduction to chapter books. For younger kids, the mystery provides plenty of interest to read the next chapter the next day. As it gets closer to the end kids are coming up with a wide variety of answers to the mystery. For third and fourth grade readers it's a good book to start reading a chapter every night on Thursday. I pretty much guarantee it will be finished before the weekend is over.
My children are 5&6 and all their books have pictures to help them visualise the word but as this have no pictures I thought they may struggle but to my surprise they had no issues with their imagination with this book. They keep their concentration solely on my voice and I saw them laugh, gasp and smile all the way through. A great author which I will be keeping my eye on for new ebooks.
A fun read! I really enjoyed the originality of the story ie it conveys the imagination of children and it depicts a subject to which we can all relate. I really preferred the monster ripping homework as opposed to "my dog eating it." Wonderful illustrations of the monster. I would recommend this story to children aged 4-6years who are comfortable with the idea of monsters in the bedroom.
When I asked my little girl t choose a book from her bed time story she chose this one so deliberately read her a chapter every night she she loved and was intrigued to discover what happened in the end . She's wasn't disappointed i would recommend this book very entertaining.

Loved this book! My six year old son sat and listened to it all the way through and it didn’t have many pictures, usually he would become uninterested but not with this book. He sat with much anticipation, he wanted to know how to solve the no socks and underwear problem. A problem that he has often!
This was the first chapter book my kid has let us read to him and he was so excited about it. He kept telling me how he would catch the monster. Love it.
This book was a joy to read to my son. He enjoyed it and thought maybe the blue monster was taking his socks and underwear. LOL. A great book for kids.
This is a great story to introduce a toddler to book with less pictures. Also write less than our putting up socks and underwear. Lots of good laughs and a delight to read
The complexity yet innocence found within a children's book will always amaze me. This read was quick and easy, but utterly powerful at the same time. I love reading to my children, especially when it's something meaningful and worthwhile.
I like how the monster did funny things and how we learned about putting our clothes in the hamper for mom. This was our first long story that we finished. It held my 6 years olds interested and we definitely be reading another one tomorrow.
It’s a good lesson for listening. If he had listened to his mom he would have known that he wasn’t doing what he needed to have his underwear washed!im glad he thought the monster was cute and funny!
