Once again, Carl Weber brings together two literary divas to give readers what they’ve been asking for: empowering stories about big, beautiful women. Rayne creates beautiful works of art, but her personal life is a blank canvas, void of love and passion. With a life-changing showcase on the horizon, Rayne is completely content being alone. She has kept clear of distractions since her last breakup, five years earlier. Things are working in her favor, until an erotic dream shakes her to her core. As if things weren’t becoming complicated enough, a new co-worker seems to have stepped directly out of her dream, offering her the opportunity to experience pleasure with no strings attached. Rayne must decide whether to take a chance, or pass up the opportunity that her body is craving. Will this be a masterpiece in the making, or a catastrophe waiting to happen? Given the nickname Pooh Bear by her besties, Dakota Marie Smith is just as lovable, thick, cuddly, and soft spoken as a teddy bear. She’s known by family and friends as the good girl, a wallflower who can do no wrong;but she’s tired of being the bore in the bunch, so she flies to Las Vegas with plans of leaving her old self behind. Will Dakota be able to throw caution to the wind and explore the stranger within? Considering that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, she might be able to do just that . . . and then some.

Every now and then I take a break from reading "serious" books and look for something fun, easy, and entertaining. I picked this book up from the "black experience" section of my library and was drawn to it because it told a story from a full-figured woman perspective. I didn't know the protagonist of "lovers embrace" would be gay yet it didn't matter to me as long as it was a good story. And I liked the ambiguity of the ending...I think the ending made the story real. And I also think there were some "life lessons" (relationship lessons) embedded in the story too. The book does what it is supposed to do.
So the first story she is clearly not a real lesbian, because they’re no way in hell she would have let a man even come that close to her. That’s just impossible. A true lesbian would not have let any man just bed her that easily. Really analyzing the story. This guy was a pure manipulator that’s it. The fact that she called him charming like no, he’s a manipulator. He kept teasing her with samples to the point where she was begging him for sex. and then he was talking all this big stuff about how he can never get women to leave him alone after they have sex. he kept throwing that in her face until she was pleading. And then, when she did finally get common sense to walk away. He kept flipping it. why? because he is a toxic POS! He is a horrible person. He came to her art event with another woman. And rubbing that woman in her face because he is a heartless bastard. Some other comments a few people were kind of blaming her that he was upfront about everything he was. No he said he didn’t wanna relationship and she was trying to get a hold of that part. Even after her work friend said hey, he’s the office slut so stay away from him. and she was trying to pull back and he would get jealous. He would get in her face and flip it. Because why doesn’t care. And it literally ends with her asking him “why me?” and he just said “because” Because he didn’t f***kin care. I mean she tried to stand to him, and he made some stupid joke, and she laughed. She told him they need to end this and he tells her no because he wanted to keep her as a friend and he refuses to in that friendship, even though he’s toxic. Yet he’s the one bragging that he can’t get people to leave him alone, but he won’t leave her alone. This woman has absolutely no self-esteem, no self respect, no self confidence. Absolutely nothing. I see there’s a sequel, but I’m glad I read the comments first before I download it. Apparently it’s missed labeled so no one knows where the sequel is. I almost didn’t listen to the second story because of just how angry Lover’s Embrace? made me. For any woman in any real life situation like this, for the love of God grow a backbone. To blatantly stay with somebody who you know is just using you as a sex toy is the definition of pathetic.

The first story is not my type if story- too much "50 Shades of Grey" not enough substance without all the sex stuff but the second story, although a little unbelievable, was very entertaining. One could only hope that such things could really happen and the ending was great - I was left wanting to know how the story of Leon and Dakota will continue. Good writing in the 2nd story!
I didn't like or understand this book and storylines. The author is not Carl Webber? Looks like both stories were written by a woman from a lesbians interaction with having sex with a male & got sprung on his anatomy vs a females. Weird!
First story was ok. Second one was a slow read. Kept putting it down and picking it up looking for something to grab my attention. The way that it ended with there be a continuation...
