This wasn’t a good story like we get a bunch of random freaky info from a variety of characters that had nothing and did nothing for the story. Idk why authors are so locked in on a time skip MULTIPLE TIMES but insist on giving us child porn. Like if you can skip a total of 11 years why are we getting vivid descriptions of two teens hunching ????
We got Multiple POVs that went no where and did nothing for the story. Like why are we reading about the FMCs daddy having phone sex? Lmao we got a chapter from a predator apologist that didn’t add to the story. Why we hearing from Claudia? Like what was the point of Donte’s scene. Idk this felt like the author wanted to give erotica but it fell flat VERY FLAT. Then to end on a cliff hanger lmao like girl the story barely went anywhere what are we hanging on the cliff for. This was def one I should’ve DNF’d but I really wanted to know where it was going and baby it was a dead end

Loved this DOWN
Everyone is not meant to be parents! We don’t get to pick who our parents are in life. No child should ever be missed treated because it didn’t work out with the parents. Let’s chat!!
Kimmie, had to deal with things that no child should have to deal with. Dealing with the anger from her mom regarding her father was unfair to her! I feel every child should know what going on with their parent to a certain - hearing both sides and not just one side! Dealing with the absence of her father and her mother new husband Todd, my girl was going through it. She had one friend only and that was Darius! He was there when no one else was 🥰!Even with having feelings for him, she treasured their friendship more. With dealing with similar issues regarding their parents, it only made their bond stronger, until one tragic moment caused a separation 😔!
Darius, was a ladies man, but honestly his heart was only for one woman. However his reason was the same as hers - Kimmie aka KK, they treasured their friendship more than anything. He is also dealing with issues with his parents especially his mom. Seems as if mom was getting her groove back but going about it the wrong way v🤣! Papa wasn’t a rolling stone but listen mama was 🤣! Darius and Kimmie had that friendship that everyone was jealous of and thought they were more than friends. After a tragic event it caused a separation but they vowed to always be friends.
Kimmie mother and new husband Todd worked my everlasting nerves. The mother had me hot. As for Kimmie father, so far I’m on his side as he stepped up when it was needed. He always wanted to be there for Kimmie, but a bitter woman can change all of that.
Listen, this read was soft but not real soft if that makes sense. Kimmie grew up knowing what she would allow and would not allow, but no one ever gave her that connection she got from Darius. Definitely excited to see what book 2 is hitting for.

One thing Loryn knows how to do is grab your attention from the first page and keep it through the entire book. This was a little heavy, hearing what KK experienced and to not have support from the one person (her mother) who was supposed to protect you is crazy. I love the way Darius did what needed to be done for my girl. The only thing I didn’t like were the different point of views from certain characters I felt it wasn’t needed and pointless.

While I definitely enjoyed this read and the two main characters, I took off a star for all the singing. Is this a musical book👀🤣 No, frfr. Singing along to the lyrics is coo, but singing to each other in every scene is a bit much🤭 I will be reading part 2 but pls leave that part out😬

Girllll you played us with that ending! I knew Mr. Limp Noodle was playing games at its finest. Not that Mr. Limpy gave his fiancé the car that he had repossessed from her😆! I knew it was going to be Jaysun or Darius’s engagement party. I need the next book ASAP!
I’m hoping that Dee & KK can figure it out together.

Wait, I need part 2 ASAP!
Kimmie's childhood was crazy! Dealing with a strict, moody mother & crazy for real stepdaughter, I was shocked she didn't runaway. Once she crossed the line with her best friend & then he left town, I was praying life would change for the better. That cliffhanger got me hoping the best is yet to come. Good book Author Loryn!

Whew Child
KK & Darius were best friends before anything! I was annoyed that KK believed her one nighter who was a bust when it came to Darius! KK was dealt a tough hand though, given her upbringing! I enjoyed Claudia as well and hoping that Ermias truly is her soulmate! I'm hoping that KK reconnection to Radius bring her what she's been looking for all along, love!

Great story line!!
This story started out deep but kept getting better and better!!! The ending had me screaming! KK deserves all things good I'm so glad her dad had her back!! Im rooting for her and Darius!!
