Milo Foster’s The AI Workshop is an outstanding resource for anyone curious about artificial intelligence but unsure where to begin. This guide stands out for its clear, accessible language and practical approach, making AI understandable and approachable, even with no technical background or coding experience.
What I appreciate most about this book is how it strips away the confusing jargon and overwhelming theory that often accompany AI topics. Instead, Foster uses real-world examples and straightforward explanations to show how AI can be a powerful tool in everyday life, work, and business. Whether you are a student, small business owner, or simply someone who wants to stay up to date with today’s technology, this book offers a step-by-step roadmap that builds confidence and skills.
Overall, the AI Workshop is an excellent, empowering introduction to artificial intelligence. It demystifies the technology and inspires readers to confidently integrate AI into their personal and professional lives. I highly recommend it to anyone ready to move from AI curiosity to practical mastery.

The AI Workshop: The Complete Beginner's Guide to AI is exactly what the title promises—a thorough yet accessible introduction to artificial intelligence for anyone curious about the field.

What I enjoyed most is how it blends history, real-world applications, and ethical considerations in a way that’s easy to follow. The book explains not only what AI can do but also what it can’t do, which is refreshing in a world full of hype. I especially appreciated the sections on common misconceptions, ethical challenges like algorithmic bias, and practical tips for using AI responsibly.

The hands-on exercises—like trying out Google’s Quick, Draw!—make the learning process interactive and fun, while the “Ethical Spotlight” boxes encourage readers to think critically about the technology’s impact. The no-code AI chapter is a highlight for beginners, showing how you can start building AI solutions without writing a single line of code.

The explanations are clear, the examples are relatable, and the tone makes you feel like you’re learning alongside a knowledgeable friend.

This book does a fantastic job breaking down AI concepts for complete beginners without getting bogged down in technical jargon. The step-by-step approach makes it easy to follow along, and the real-world examples help clarify how AI can actually be useful in daily life. The "Try It Yourself" activities are particularly valuable for building confidence with different AI tools.

What stands out most is how practical everything is - from using ChatGPT effectively to automating simple tasks in Gmail. The sections on ethics and privacy are thoughtful additions that many beginner guides skip. The companion resources like the prompt library and mini-course add real value beyond just the book content.

Some of the examples feel a bit repetitive across different chapters, covering similar ground in slightly different contexts. That said, the overall structure is solid and the writing style makes complex topics feel accessible and manageable for anyone wanting to get started with AI.

I really liked that this book explains AI in a way that’s easy to understand, especially if you’re just starting out and don’t have a tech background. The “Try It Yourself” sections were cool because they actually get you doing stuff, which made the whole thing feel less like boring theory. Plus, the author covers a good range of tools and even talks about ethics, which is something I hadn’t seen much before in beginner guides.

That said, I did feel like some parts dragged a bit, and sometimes it didn’t go as deep as I wanted, AI is moving so fast, and this book felt a little behind in spots. Also, I was hoping for more real-life stories or creative ideas to keep things exciting. Overall, it’s a decent intro, but if you’re looking for something super detailed or inspiring, this might not be the one.

I was really excited to dive into this book because it promised a complete beginner’s guide to mastering AI without any coding. The language is simple and the hands-on exercises are a nice touch for those new to AI. It’s definitely a friendly introduction, especially if you want to understand some basics and how AI fits into everyday life.

That said, the book doesn’t quite deliver on all it promises. While it covers the fundamentals, it feels a bit light and sometimes doesn’t go as deep or practical as I hoped. Some chapters skim over topics quickly, and the real “mastering” part feels like it’s missing. If you want a solid overview without too much detail, this could work, but don’t expect to become an AI expert after reading it.

I’ve read a few “intro to AI” books, but this one is the first that actually made me feel like I could start using AI right away. The writing is clear and friendly, and the examples are things I could actually see myself doing, such as streamlining email, brainstorming creative ideas or automating repetitive tasks. The “Try It Yourself” sections are short and surprisingly effective at building confidence.

What I liked most is that it doesn’t assume you want to become a tech expert—it’s more about fitting AI into everyday life. The tips on ethics and privacy were a nice touch, and the prompt library is something I’ve already started using. If you’re curious about AI but not sure where to start, this is an approachable first step.

For someone who has been fearful of technology and how it changes our world, this book has been a good insight into how AI functions- how it can help vs. hurt. Real life examples from experience in implementing AI technology for everyday problems. I appreciate the kindle version with direct links to explore and try out different AI "activities". Interactivity with the content was an awesome feature that you don't get with a lot of topics or books in general. Applying AI in our daily lives can help make us more productive, efficient, solve problems and improve daily tasks.
This book was easy to understand and follow to learn more about AI at a beginner level but with some more complex concepts to grasp.

A Good Starting Point for Learning About AI

This book gave a clear overview of what AI is and how it can be used in everyday life, business, education, and even health. I liked that it also touched on some of the weaknesses and limitations of AI, which made it feel more balanced. The prompt exercises were a nice touch and helped me think of ways to try AI myself. That said, I wish it had included more practical, step-by-step guidance, especially for creating art or using AI for marketing. Overall, it’s a good starting point for beginners who want a general understanding of AI.

I got this book for my 73 year old mother, who as far as she knew had never touched AI before (she does in fact have a smartphone...!). It was spot on. The explanations are clear and down-to-earth, and the little “Try It Yourself” activities gave her the confidence to actually give things like ChatGPT a go. A great first step for anyone who’s curious but doesn’t know where to start.

I bought The AI Workshop: The Complete Beginner's Guide to AI: Your A-Z Guide to Mastering Artificial Intelligence for Life, Work, and Business—No Coding Required hoping to learn more about AI. This book was a let down. I really don't need to know how to get AI to see my hand wave. I tried to like it, but it was honestly disappointing.

I’ve read a few “AI for beginners” books, and most left me more confused than when I started. This one showed me how to use AI in ways that matter day-to-day. The “Try It Yourself” exercises were short and sweet to fit in my coffee break. The prompt library is very good, and the mini-course made me see new possibilities for my work. I closed the book understanding AI better, using it too.

I think what sets this apart from other AI books are the exercises given after each lesson. The follow along activities helps you remember better, which is nice. There are also website with examples you can click on as well if you use the Kindle version.
