It’s perhaps easy to criticise the other religions but it’s too hard to criticise our own and bringing reform in it.

Karsandas Mulji, Gujarati journalist and social reformer, was boycotted from his house and community but still he fought against the hierarchy of the Telang Brahmins who were encouraging adultery and masquerading themselves as children of God.

Even after infamous libel case of 1862, he was not discouraged a bit. Finally, he won the case and became hero of Gujarati renaissance.

I read it in a single day in July of 2019. This documented historical novel is inspiring and Saurabh Shah took too much efforts in writing it.

This book is An original Document-Novel based on 'Maharaj Libel Case'(1860). This all started when Karsandas Mulji a journalist and Jadunath Maharaj, religious head of a Vaishnav haveli in Surat, came in front of each other.
With modern thinking and teachings of various modern social reformer Karsandas Mulji who want to make a reform and revolutionalies the society went with her fiance to Vaishnav Haveli for religious traditions and he came to know about Charan sewa and and what happened, he loose his temper as his fiance became the victim of physical and sexual assault and suicide after she got to know that worshipper is repeat offender she didn't take the news lightly and her engagement broke with Karsandas who try to make her understand earlier, she felt guilty, Karsandas was in deep thinking what to do when Religious guru before jadunath told him to stand and speak the truth against all enemy as It's the dharam of journalists and he started Satya Prakash magazine for the revolution.

But in small time he had backlash with jadunath maharaj who filed a case of defamation when Karsandas post about the criminal activities that are happening on the name of Charan sewa and how people watch that and what people have gone through as the case started many things came to light and eventually at the end of the case, Jadunath maharaj lost the battle against truth and it was end of Charan sewa tradition from demi god culture.
