Warborn: Part Two - Painted Red: A LitRPG Novella

Jeb has been chosen as a Contestant for the Crucible of War and he refuses to leave his two-year old Cane Corso, Bose, behind. Whatever they face, they will face together.
They were supposed to go to a Tutorial where everything would be challenging but fair. Like everything else in his life, it went to shit and he got sucked into the Endless Dungeon with beasts far far stronger than what he was supposed to face but through the grit gained as a retired Master Sergeant and the courage of his pooch, Bose, they survived. Even through the crippling effects of his PTSD, he pushed through for himself, for Bose, for the man he used to be.
They make it out of the Endless Dungeon and into the City of Blood, one of the eight cities that make up the Crucible of War though far earlier than the rest of humanity. Within the first steps into the city they are confronted by a posse of Greenskins, members of the infamous Skull and Bones, one of the four violent races and gangs that ran the City. They wanted to take everything from Jeb and Bose, including their lives.
They would learn the hard way what a Master Sergeant of the United States Army could do, retired or not. Jeb had spent his entire life dancing with Death and even with his PTSD sending spikes of memory to shatter his sanity, he would teach them what it meant to face someone birthed in War, and their very own close up look at his Benelli m-4, Vladimere. Good ole' Vlad, Jeb's bane and boon. His road was strewn with corpses, what was a few more.

J.D. Glasscock started as a slam poet on national teams in 1990. Six years later, he moved on to be the singer/songwriter/frontman of a blues rock band called Sofa King, which lasted ten years. Though he still writes both lyrics and poetry, in 2005, he moved on to studying film writing and directing with a special emphasis on lighting, specifically, noir lighting. He moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to finally pursue those aspirations. He is the Alan Bailey Award winner for Excellence in the Craft of Filmmaking - Noir, at the Action on Film Festival 2015. He currently has 16 short films to his name and has won numerous awards as a filmmaker at large festivals. His current goals include his two TV series, Celestial Moon, and The Mysfits, as well as his first feature, A God Among Sheep -- The Rise of Maria Salvatore. He has four other feature film scripts written in different genres -- Western, Sci-Fi, Post-Apocalyptic, and Suspense Thriller. He and his company Stormcrow Productions also have an Adult Visual Novel Video Game – A Crown of Thorns – based on the IP of his feature film script Blade n Blood which already has a store page on Steam. You will need to have your parental settings turned off to access it. Comes out on August 12th. He has been hired four times to write other people's film scripts. He moved to Denton, Texas in 2017 to be near and help his family, and to bring his style of film to North Texas. He is currently focused on his burgeoning career as a LitRPG Novelist. His GrimDark LitRPG series Blood Brothers is now out with its first five books. The first two books of his new series, the Dream, is also out. A Post Apocalyptic Litrpg. Book one of his new series Embers & Ash just released as well. Get your Superhero on. Superhero LitRPG.
