Alex Thompson is working on her third master's degree, she has three *very* protective older brothers, and she's never thought of herself as the "hot friend." Oh yeah, and her brother's best friend is Knox Carter, an NFL quarterback and the Sexiest Man Alive. She and Knox have always hated each other, but has that conflict been hiding deeper feelings?
I can’t find the book on Amazon, it’s been removed from Wattpad, now only on Galatea, which when you’re a speed reader sucks having to wait hours on end to get 1 chapter unlocked. I refuse to pay for 3rd party apps!
Read this on Wattpad when it first came out, and decided to re-read it again. And yeah, my opinion on this book hasn’t changed one bit. This MMC didn’t need to have sex with the other woman for weeks and months on end, he could’ve just got his lawyers on it immediately or the damn police. The author had such a good story on their hands and then fumbled it all with that stupid ass betrayal. And the brother is one of the most annoying characters in this story, because of his “don’t have sex” attitude with the MFC but he can whore around 24/7 without any issues. And the fact that she didn’t have sex with anyone in the the entire story, while her brother and the MMC just have sex left and right, is one of the dumbest things about this whole book. This book would’ve truly been a 5/5 or 3/5 for me, had the author actually made the characters smart and made the MFC have some self respect, because a love confession on tv means jackshit when you’ve been screwing a woman who hates her after just having sex with the MFC cause of a little private confession of your own prior, all because she has MFC naked pictures. Which again, MMC could’ve gotten the damn police involved and the lawyers, and actually told MFC about the pictures, but NOOOOOOOOoooo, lets have him fucking his ex right in front of MFC for months on end. This book is a joke and it seems that the author couldn’t put an actual good written out betrayal between the MMC and the MFC that actually made any sense, especially given how stupid the fast forgiveness happens when that betrayal shouldn’t even have been forgiven for possibly years on end. The brother, the MMC, hell even the MFC, etc. just dumb, misogynistic, manwhores, need self respect, need a crime law degree.
The smut and chemistry were good, but Alex was a huge pick me. Her attitude of “i’m not like other girls” is extremely annoying. She often shamed other girls for having sex, but never said a thing when her sisters and friends did the same exact thing. The only reason this is getting a 3/5 stars is because the author did a good jobs of writing the chemistry between Alex and Know.
You can definitely tell this book was written by an amateur, maybe even a teenager. It was all over the place, the flow was inconsistent, and there were points that didn’t even make sense. But for some reason, it was like a bad car accident and I couldn’t turn away. I think the idea of what it could have been was there, the execution just was off
I cant put into words how much i love this book. Ive read it about 20 times and i never get bored of it. Sure the writing is kinda cringey but its wattpad, what do you expect. The writing actually improves alot about halfway through and so does the plot. Classic love triangle but the main obv like one more than the other but theyre both good picks UGH 😩 we have the football player trope, the guy is a player trope, one bed trope, love triangle trope, childhood friends trope, rich guy trope, enemies to lovers, i mean it’s literally a work of art. I live for this book no joke. 100000❤️❤️❤️❤️💋/10 ily knox
So like, it’s not written well. Alex is annoying. Don’t get me wrong I was definitely team Alex and Knox but holy MOLY she’s so pick me but SO NAIVE at the same time. The way that he was so OBVIOUSLY in love with her and literally every single person that she knew told her to her face and she was like “nah. definitely not me” LIKE BITCH COME ON QUIT LYING. I thought I was gonna be team Wes for a hot minute and then Knox really came out of nowhere. Absolutely hated him at first but warmed up to him pretty quickly. Despite my complaints, I binge read this shit, as fast as I could at least considering I had to wait for new chapters every 6 hours (fuck you galatea). The story line is fun. I love a good football star/hometown normie romance. Also the plot twists were crazy as fuck. I forgot about the whole situation with her dad until he got out of jail and showed up to kill her. Also the fact that she was being blackmailed by that Lauren bitch who happened to be the girl that her ex cheated on her with. The way the ex gave her nudes he took of Alex while she was asleep that she literally didn’t know about? Not it whatsoever. Fuck that man he’s an asshole. But the fact that Lauren was using them to get Knox to date her instead was WHACK. Especially because it happened right after they got back from NYC oaks their super romantic date where he literally confessed his love for her and then hours later she’s watching him dick down Lauren like WHAT HAPPENED KNOOOOX. That shot had my jaw on da FLOOR. So yeah the book itself was entertaining and has a happy ending and all the cutie little sappy moments with Alex and Knox was lovely if you want to put it that way. They had some good enemy sexual tension for a hot minute and then it evolved to her FINALLY ADMITTING that she liked him and that he liked her. And then he went and fucked it all up to save her nudes (again, that she didn’t know about) from being leaked. I’m giving this bitch 2 stars because again it was entertaining but by no means was it a good book if you’re catching my drift. I’d give it a solid OK. Probably wouldn’t read it again, but it was fun while it lasted. Now onto some actual good books🫡🫡🫡

I thought it was a really nice book with a pretty interesting plot. It’s a cliché romantic plot but it had some good twists and turns. I laughed, cried, and smiled because of this book. The few things I would change are the mistakes in the text, adding an epilogue to make the ending feel less rushed, and how Kyle finds out about the relationship. Im my opinion Kyle should have been part of the reason why Alex decides to trust and take back Knox. It would show his character growth and adds depth to not only Kyle’s character but Alex’s as well. But that’s just my opinion. If this was ever turned into a movie I would 1000% watch.

This is the first time I’m actually writing out a review because I’m so annoyed I spent a whole day reading it. I really wanted to like this book, but so much of it just didn’t work for me.
The main character, Alex, is supposed to be a really intelligent woman, two master’s degrees and working on a third at 23, but her constant back-and-forth over feelings about Knox were so obnoxious. The “he doesn’t like me/maybe he does” dragged on endlessly, even though literally everyone around her tells her the obvious.
I started to hate Knox’s obnoxious nickname for Alex, “babydoll,” got old fast and felt more cringe than anything. Their dynamic was just heavily repetitive miscommunication throughout the whole book.
The extreme “protective brothers and their friends” thing was wayyy over the top. It stopped feeling like family/friend concern and just became repetitive drama that weighed the story down.
What really did it for me though, was the way small children (ages 3–5) were written. The whole “boyfriend/girlfriend” thing might have been fine if it happened once, but it popped up every single time the kids were involved. And a 3 year old getting his “first kiss” from Alex, just came across as uncomfortable and bizarre. Granted it was a peck on the cheek, but felt very uncomfy. It didn’t add anything meaningful to the story and honestly pulled me out of it.
Overall, I gave it two stars because I did see potential at the start, but I was honestly more annoyed than entertained as the book went on.
No because what the helly was this and also why did I finish it??? It’s really my own fault honestly. When I tell you there were countless whole paragraphs where each! sentence! was! punctuated! with! an! exclamation! point!! AND if I had a dollar for every time the FMC said or thought “I’m not like other girls” (literally those exact words) or slut shamed other women I could have retired after chapter 5.
So, over all I really liked the book and was thinking about giving it 4 stars because I really loved the relationship development between Knox and Al, along with the character developments, the plot, and the relationships of most the characters… however, I had some issues with the book.
*Spoilers* 1. The grammar. I know I’m a teacher and love English and Phonics, but I kept finding mistakes in every chapter. I read the book on Galatea, so I’m not sure if it is published in hard back, if it is, I would expect those mistakes to be corrected.
2. The fact that she was cheated on by drew and then cheated on again by Knox, well if that isn’t my life… however, the fact that she was able to forgive him so quickly? Like I found the excuse to be bullshit. I don’t know why Knox didn’t tell his manager (who he supposedly tells everything to) in the first place and get a lawyer sooner than he did? I thought that was SO unbelievable… especially with him being a famous athlete, in which case, people have stuff like that in the field come up all the time with fans and have to get restraining orders, etc.
3. Finally, Alexa is this super brainy woman who is in the STEM field (go girl), yet, it took her what 12 years to realize that Knox liked her? Sorry- loved her. I found that to be unbelievable. I understand with high school and then not getting along and her thinking that he hated her… but after they made out multiple times, she couldn’t put two and two together… not to mention that everyone was telling her Knox liked her & she constantly saw Knox and Wes fighting (obviously over her)… I’m not sure how anyone with a good social life like she does doesn’t understand social cues and could be so oblivious.
However!!!
PROS:
Her writing is phenomenal with detail! The book made me feel like I actually got to learn who Alexa was in the book, I saw her character development, and I knew who all of her friends and family were without being confused and getting characters mixed up, which can be extremely difficult for lots of authors.
I also loved the relationship between Adam and Al, I thought it was so cute!!!
Over all rating 3.5, and despite my somewhat negative views on the book I TOTALLY would read again!

No saben respetar alv. Alex no sabe poner límites. A. QUIEN. SEA. 9. El PTSD de Alex. Tiene razones? Sí. Justifica sus acciones? No. Mándenla a terapia. 10. Is this queerbating or something? Che Alex me caes mal. (Lo podía incluir en el punto 1? Sí. Pero la escena me enoja) 15. Knox es un pesado. No sabe aceptar un no. No sabe respetar. Me cae mal. 16.
-5 estrellas.

This book would’ve gotten more stars, but there were sooooo many characters to keep track of. I finally got them all down by about 1/2-3/4 of the book.
It was a cute college romance type book. There was a decent plot line. The characters were both lovable and hated at all different parts. I was not waiting on the in depth spice in the book after the first half and in the end. I thought it was mild at first with mentions of sex but not detailed, and then everything changed! It was enjoyable though.
This is an independent writer, so there were some things that got missed in reviewing and publishing but nothing major. The biggest was the lack of fluidity from chapter to chapter. But overall great book.
I have read this book twice now and i will re-read it for the 3rd time! It is honestly my favorite book! i love so much, the plot, the characters, the writing, the smut, the chemistry. It is amazing! GO READ IT NOW!
I’m only giving it 3 stars for the tension between Alex and Knox but everything else was awful. I’m putting my thoughts in points below.
Alex is probably one of the most unlikeable main characters ever, she is the biggest pick me and so internally misogynistic it actually hurt to read.
The whole book is about sneaking around the brother so he doesn’t find out and his reaction at the end was so unbelievably underwhelming that they could of just told him in the beginning.
Idk I read this on some random website because I refused to wait on Galatea for a new chapter every 6 hours so I think some parts might have been cut and there were parts where the sentences were gibberish. As annoying as that was I don’t think anything I missed would have actually changed my opinion
Kyle’s attitude towards his sister having a one night stand or a sexual relationship with someone is actually concerning especially when she’s 23, he’s dating her best friend and before that was sleeping with a different girl every night
The outfits were atrocious. I wrote down one line because I actually had to put the book down from laughing ‘He looked irresistible. He had a dark grey jeans, a plain white tee and black vans’ THE MOST NORMAL OUTFIT I’VE EVER HEARD OF
I have to bring it back to Alex now again because this girl is 23, on her THIRD MASTERS and talks about how smart she is compared to other people but yet it’s so painfully obvious that Knox is in love with her for literally everyone around her but her. This man could of said ‘I love her’ while pointing and looking at Alex and she’ll think he’s talking about some random girl he slept with because he didn’t specifically say her name bro
Not cool of Knox to just be sleeping with and fucking around with all these girls just because he couldn’t have Alex either? As if these aren’t real people ? And Alex is just ok with all of it too, even calling all girls outside family and friends sluts

I could not put it down… until she walked in on him! I was heartbroken 💔 && after seeing that, she was around for a while before he stepped up and said why. I wanted more of the “them” together rather than dragging out the Lauren.

There are definitely some parts that are a bit choppy and read in a way that makes me think the author may have been moving some sections around to different places and didn’t blend the moved parts into their new places. Then there was the amount of “I’m not like other girls” like literally this exact phrase or near copies of it in different variations such as “I’m not like your other girls” and “I’m not like the girls you’re used to” which did in fact make me want to throw my phone at times.
However, overall I enjoyed this book. Right when I thought I knew exactly what was going to happen there were a couple solid plot twists that absolutely had me gripping my phone to keep reading. For an internet book, this has been one of my favorites so far- the quality and actual depth of the storyline really impressed me. I’m excited to see what else this authors writes!
Also, absolutely f*ck Lauren lmao author did a solid job making me hate her.
I loved this one by the end. At first, I found it extremely annoying that Alex didn’t recognize Knox loved her. She’s supposed to be super smart but couldn’t pick up on that? But throughout the book, when we learn more about her story, her lack of confidence and anxiety make total sense. I started to resonate with her and liked her character more by the end. And Knox, oh goodness is he hot. I loved the way he protected her and watched her. I didn’t find it to be possessive in a bad way. The book had a few twists and turns I ended up really liking that guided in each characters development. It’s a long one but has such a good slow burn. Ugh I love stories about hot people being in love with other hot people 😜
The book was enjoyable, but I wish we got more after the relationship was established, it may not be for everyone but I’d love to know where they take it. If Alex goes back to college, do they make it work? Does she bump into her ex? Does Lauren finally leave them alone or is there some other kind of plot she can come up with? It totally has potential for a sequel (if there is one already published, I can’t find it). Most of the book is centred when she’s back with her family, which is odd when you consider she is a college student and would be living away most of the time. I loved the amount of detail in the book, I found it easy to image people and places, and loved how some of the characters developed over time, even if I wasn’t keen on them at the start. The annoying part is it’s published on an app where you have to wait ages to read the next chapter, and they’re quite short chapters, or pay. Luckily I found that someone had reposted it elsewhere so I was able to read it quicker and whenever I had time.
Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. It could’ve been so amazing - but I think what made my stomach drop the most was that the fact Knox said he pretended to be with Lauren for show - but was f****** her across the hall from Alex for months IN HER FAMILY HOME. F*** Alex’s family for allowing that too. Pretend to be in a relationship and actually having s** are two different things.

Cute book but for the main character being as smart as she is, working on third master degree, she’s really dumb when it comes to knowing someone likes her and it got super annoying since this was thought process was basically thru every chapter except the last three. Wouldn’t recommend it to friends
First of all tell me why I could only read one chapter every 6 hours and why the girl is such a pick me. Like he is so obviously into you like stop it, at one point girl was so in denial she thought he was into her younger sister who is literally a kid like how is someone that dumb. It did my head in.
My only issue is Alex was such a pick me like she was a girls girl with her besties but yeah suck a pick me I don’t get it that’s the only thing I didn’t like
