Visually beautiful and luscious seasonal recipes. Black pepper with strawberries, a corncake with blueberries and fresh corn in it, black tea cupcakes - all are fantastic combinations. But the book and the writing are simple and accessible. The author's photography lured me into her rural life of appreciating what's around. There are so many other things I'd still like to try like the sweet potato sage cake with maple glaze, whiskey pear and maple cheesecake, and blood orange olive oil cake. I absolutely can't wait until next spring so that I can gather a cup's worth of honeysuckle for the simple syrup that makes the breeze cake. I already envision decorating the top with a sprig of fresh honeysuckle and inviting a friend over.

This baking recipe book is not just beautiful but contains really great recipes. I bought it online on a whim without taking a peek inside and was decently nervous for what I would wind up getting - “seasonal baking? What am I getting myself into”. But all of the recipes sound delicious, possible, and unique without being weird.

This book has the most amazing honey cream cheese frosting. Best frosting I have ever tasted. Seriously. It’s a beautiful book. The carrot cupcakes were really good too. If you only buy it for that recipe alone, it’s still worth it.

This book was forgettable. I didn't find anything that I would make for myself. There were maybe a few things that I would have eaten, but there were not alot of pictures in this book to make any kind of determination. This book was just one big disappointment.

Seasonal, simple, delicious desserts. And yet totally creative as well...why did I never think to pair black pepper with strawberries? How has this been missing from my life for so long?
