4⭐️ this book was amazing i loved seeing all the old characters from the original series and then all their kids and everything!! also i’m so freaking excited for the next book it looked so good!! also i’m so glad i read them in order bc i think i would be confused in the next book if i hadn’t. and those guys that poured acid on her and then came back again after lorne brought them back, they are awful, but lorne is even worse for bringing it all down to her multiple times

What a sweet, emotional, and heartwarming read🥹 This book was all about forgiveness, learning to love yourself and accept help, huge emphasis on the power of family, and some faith elements sprinkled in! There was one scene between Charlie and her mom that actually made me tear up, it was so sweet and healing❤️🩹
The way Cash so loyally loves Charlie is so incredible - he’s a perfect example of someone whose words are backed up by action; he doesn’t just SAY he loves her, he shows it in everything he does!
I loved Charlie’s redemptive story and the lessons she learned. It’s beautiful to watch a character bare their soul and self in the most vulnerable way to someone and for it to be received with utter adoration, acceptance, and love❤️🩹
I wish there would have been a little more expounding of the faith aspects; there was more early in the story, and I would have loved to see it grow, but otherwise a beautiful and quick read!!

Book 1 of the Seddledowne Two: Finding Home Series - The chemistry and teasing between Cash and Charlie is mind blowing. It is so clear that they have VERY strong feelings for one another even when Charlie *thinks* she’s just passionately annoyed by him. I honestly can’t talk about them without spoilers so IYKYK. Ahhhhh THE REUNION. My heart hurts for Cash. He is so head over heels. My heart hurts for Charlie and the pain she carries. JUST LET HIM LOVE YOU. That boat ride was a freaking disaster. lol the got caught red handed 😂🫠.
Susan has some hooked on all her books because they all have heart, humanity, and INSANE plot twists. Every book you read by Susan (Callie Mae Shaw) you get to read real people try to do their very best, but fail sometimes and see how they pick up the pieces. Throughout every book the family has an insane love for one another that is truly unconditional.
I loved all the growth you get to see from the family (now viewed as the parents). I’m so excited to get more of the kids’ books because I like seeing how the kids see their parents after we have been able to watch their parents fall in love. Children have unique views on their parents so it’s so so cool to see how all the previous MCs children view them.
I didn’t think Ford and Peyton could get any better but then we get to see them parent and now I love them even more. Peyton’s fierce love for her whole family but most her husband and children is inspiring. Ford trying to discipline is hilarious 😂 Ash and Tally rallying around Charlie (Theo too) made me tear up. The car ride and all the ensued (sorry no spoilers) was just, perfect. Honestly, no words. Charlie needed that. Also GO UNCLE HOLDEN on so many accounts.
Also all the cousins are hilarious and I so enjoyed their dynamic. Love Bowen and Charlie’s bond. I’ve been stalking my email for all the teasers Susan has been sending out for the next book 🤭

I loved this author’s Seddledowne Series, and was excited when I found out she was writing a new series about the next generation.
Sing Me Home was just as exceptional as I had hoped. The storyline is gripping and full of raw emotion, angst, humor, and passion—something that draws me to this author’s work. The characters were realistic and relatable, and they made me wish I was part of their family.
The love story between Cash and Charlie was beautiful and completely swept me away. His love for her was so pure, deep, protective, and intense that it made my heart melt. I loved Charlie and how strong and brave she was. I was cheering for her as she found her voice and her way ’home’ again.

This was my first book by this author coming into this second generation, Christian contemporary, emotional romance. Our main characters are ones who became step-cousins at some point when growing up but our MMC Cash has always been clear that they are not cousins. Having had a crush on Charlie forever, he was crushed when she came to a reunion married and then disappeared for years. He wrote all of her songs for her and she found them online and they were her lifeline. Once she renters his life, they have pesky exes to deal with. I enjoyed this romance and the strong amount of family that was included. I loved the music aspects. There were a few instances of swearing and there were also mentions of rear ends and the front tops of females. There was a faith element that was appreciated. With hints of suspense, this was a good read that kept me entertained and engaged for a lot of the story. I’m looking forward to reading more in this series and from this author. This was a fade-to-black, within marriage, romance. Intimacy: level 3. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

Cash is a superstar in the music industry but all he wants is his girl Charlie to come back home. After she got married and left, Cash hasn't been the same. He channels his feelings into his songs hoping his message will get to her and that one day her situation will change. When she does finally re enter his life, he is shocked to find out the ordeal she has been through and Charlie is determined to keep Cash at arm's length. Will the two be able to find their happy ever after?
What an emotional book this was! Cash was such a sweetheart with how much he felt towards Charlie, especially the way he displayed this emotion. I kept wondering what Charlie had endured. The author does not give us this information easily and we learn along with Cash, in small pieces just how bad her life was while she was away. This book was so well written and had me struggling to put it down once I started. You have to love the Dupree family! I can't wait to read more of this series, especially the other cousin's stories.

This is living rent free in my head! I loved my return to Sceddledowne. The concept was excellent and I loved that it focus on the Dupree siblings and Anna's kids.
The book is so beautifully written and flows perfectly. The descriptions are excellent and I think that Sceddledowne sounds like a beautiful place to live.
The characters are amazing. It's so nice seeing all the old faces back. I was so happy Granny and Gramps were there too! The story focuses on Cash (Ford and Peyton's son) and Charlie (Ashton and Tally's daughter - adopted by Ashton). I loved their story. It was so good how it unfolded.

After falling in love with the town of Seddledowne, and the characters who reside there, it was so nice to return with generation two! This book is all about Cash Dupree as he hits the music scene, following along in his father's footsteps but also making a name for himself.
While I enjoyed spending time with Cash, I was extra excited to meet Charlie and get lost in HER story. Poor girl has really gone through some stuff, and it was beautiful seeing her find herself back in the arms of her loving family.

Cash and Charlie have my heart along with the rest of the Dupree clan! I loved how profound Cash’s love was for Charlie no matter what time and distance did to drive them apart. Charlie went through so much, but I loved how she fought and eventually went home. Some of my favorite moments: their songs to each other, their chemistry and 🔥🔥🔥 kisses, the close-knit group of cousins. This book pulled every heartstring and gave me all the feels! All of Susan Henshaw/Callie May Shaw’s books are way more than 5 stars in my opinion! Can’t wait for more from her!

This was a cute book in so many ways. I enjoyed the idea of the romance and lots of moments they had. However, them being “cousins” even though they were not legit cousins was a little weird for me. Not enough to ruin it for me but enough for me to notice it.
I also struggled a little bit with the fact that almost every conflict was a huge conflict throughout the entire book. I wish we could’ve had a break from some of the external conflict and focus more on her internal conflict and her romance for a good chunk of the book.
Again, some very sweet things in this book and the family banter was great but not my favorite read. That all being said I could still see myself reading another one in this series.

Sing Me Home is book one in the new series, Seddledowne Two: Finding Home. It picks up a few years after the epilogue of It Was Nothing. And if you haven’t read the first series, do your self a favor, drop everything NOW and go read it. Because Cash and Charlie have a history, and that relationship deserves your full attention and understanding. If there is anyone who deserves some therapy and a HEA, it’s Charlie Dupree. That girl’s got issues and rightfully so. But Cash has loved her for nearly his whole life. He knows her, and there is nothing she can do to erase that love.
This childhood, unrequited love story is a wild, crazy roller coaster of emotions. There is smoldering romance, conflict and suspense, and unbreakable family bonds. As always, the Dupree family is top notch when it comes to love and forgiveness and support.
I can’t say enough about the Seddledowne books. They have become all time favorite contemporary romances. Callie Mae Shaw writes the most incredible tension and angst. And swoon that is off the charts.
I am so excited to see the rest of the cousins get there stories. I have very good idea of who is next and it’s going to be explosive!

Angst, intense emotions (and I mean INTENSE), banter/hilarious moments, a very involved family, and heart. I cried, I laughed, I swooned, and I cried (a lot) more.
Cash Dupree is a singer and the son of Ford Dupree, a Country music star from book 5 of the last series. He’s had a crush on Charlie since he was a teenager, and that has morphed into unrequited love/pining. They shared a passionate kiss once at 18, then nothing for 4 years 💋. Now that she’s back (and getting divorced), Cash thinks/hopes it’s finally his time to be with her. But Charlie has secrets and a lot of trauma to work through, and tells Cash she needs space and time, and a friend. Cash loves her no matter what but Charlie thinks she isn’t worth loving, that she isn’t inherently good because she has ‘bad’ blood running in her veins from her biological dad. 🥺 She thinks she doesn’t deserve love, and that she lets down everyone. I am not well after reading this book, but in the best way possible!! Anyone who has been following me for more than a hot minute knows that I have been obsessed with this author's books since I picked up her first Seddledowne book. The amount of raw angst and emotion that flow out of her stories is unreal and this newest book is no exception, not to mention the swoon. Cash and Charlie's achingly beautiful love story completely stole my heart!!
This is a story of homecoming, of second chances and secrets and soulmates, of a beautiful kind of love that accepts without judgement or shame. Cash is a walking green flag and Charlie is so incredibly brave; I love the way they heal each other! That chemistry is undeniable from the beginning and every page with them together is lit up like the fourth of July.
The Dupree family can adopt me anytime they want. There is so much relatability in the way they love and support each other and also in the ways they don't always get things right the first time. I legitimately sobbed during the race scene (#iykyk) and watching this second generation of Duprees find their happily ever afters is my new roman empire.
Reading this author's books is pure happiness and I will never, ever get enough. Pick this one up for the beautiful and swoony love story, stay for the family dynamics and the loyal friendships, the healing and forgiveness, the playful laugh out loud scenes and the sweet romantic ones, and the emotional moments that will heal your heart. 11/10, this will be a forever favorite!

While Sing Me Home is technically the first book of the series, this is a second-generation series--- meaning we're now getting the stories of the now grown kids of the characters we first met in the original Seddledown series. While you could probably enjoy this one as a standalone, you will definitely be getting some spoilers from the original series, and I think will ultimately appreciate it more when you have that full family backstory so I would definitely recommend reading the original series first.
I do not know what Susan Henshaw (Callie Mae Shaw) is putting in her books... but I am hooked and absolutely cannot get enough of them! I was so thrilled to have the chance to catch up with the next generation of Duprees... and it absolutely did not disappoint! This family is perhaps my favorite fictional family of all time. Yes, they have their fair share of drama (perhaps more than their fair share, if we're being honest), but more than that they also love big and truly just bring so much heart (and humor) to the table. I love seeing that family dynamic between them, and this story reflected that love so beautifully. And then there's the romance. We got a little preview of Cash and Charlie's story in the bonus scene of It Was Nothing. This story picks up at the same point, but this time we see things from Cash's perspective. The way he loves Charlie... Oh. My. Goodness! We saw hints of that crush in the original series but seeing them all grown up and how deep that love truly ran... well, it was beautiful and took me on an emotional roller coaster right along with them. Their story was one filled with so much heartbreak and so many twists and turns that you're absolutely going to want to experience for yourself! If you love an emotional romance with a hard fought happily ever after, this is one you won't want to miss! This is easily a favorite of the year so far for me... I can't wait to see what will happen next!

I do appreciate that the author included content or trigger warnings at the beginning and that helped but the story itself was a little triggering for me and that’s on me. It’s still beautifully written story as well as a love story but it just wasn’t for me.

Charlie and Cash had history and it was complicated but it was full of love. The characters draw you in and the story holds you captive. There was heartbreak and hurt but there is also love and redemption. I love the Dunpree family and their antics.
Charlie and Cash were step-cousins but they always knew that they weren’t related. They had been drawn together but they also feared that the other didn’t truly love them. I really enjoyed reading about their interactions and seeing how deeply they cared for each other. They had a lot of obstacles to overcome but they preserved.
Charlie had left home a couple of years ago and came home broken and scared, but Cash never gave up on her. I love how the family tried to support Charlie in the best way that they could while also cheering Cash on. Charlie and Cash had to figure out if love was worth the pain and suffering.
I really enjoyed this book and I would definitely recommend it. It is closed-door and deals with hard topics so I would say it is more PG-13. I would recommend it to those who are considered at least older teens. However the romance is sweet and the family scenes are a lot of fun. Sing Me Home is a closed door contemporary romance.

My Thoughts:
I loved the Dupree family in the first Seddledowne series and while this book starts the second generation, it felt like a continuation of the first series! I loved getting glimpses of the original Dupree couples and catching up with their stories! That said, Cash and Charlie’s love story fell flat for me. While it seemed that Cash was supposed to be caring and protective, he was obsessed with Charlie in a way that felt unhealthy. Charlie, while portrayed as stubborn and fiercely independent, showed very little growth and was very dependent on toxic relationships with the men in her life. I did appreciate the beautiful songs that were incorporated into the story!

I love the interconnecting web she has weaved full of gorgeous characters, relationships and a town I would love to live in.
Seddledowne continues to grow and I am here for it, I crave more and could indulge daily.
Charlie and Cash, the meaning of true love at first sight and proving that childhood crushes can become your happily ever after.
Susan has written this book so beautifully, giving a second chance to a first love and showing us all that if you take your time and nurture a connection that it can grow into something truly sublime and breathtaking.
This book explores the character journey of Charlie and Cash intertwined with the rest of the Dupree family, there’s a few surprises in there which I didn’t see coming and an ending which all of Seddledowne and I were hoping to come to fruition.
This closed door romance is very well written and I love how the subtle build up unfolds as the reader wants it to in their imagination.

I loved this book. I literally laughed out loud, cried, & swooned hard over Cash. I loved the nostalgic quotes, like the Mr. Collin’s quote from Pride & Prejudice & his boiled potatoes. I laughed out loud at that.
Cash’s little sister Addie was a riot. She was so confident that God was going to answer, even if it didn’t look like how she said it (ie the puppies). I wish I had her faith sometimes!
Loren was a tool. I despise him with every part of my being.
Cash was a total sweetheart. He had his eyes on Charlie from day one & nothing was changing his mind. He was so good with Charlie & each revelation she revealed. My heart broke for her. I also wanted to pop her upside her head because she had a wonderful family that would have been there & a man willing to take her anyway she is & she still stayed gone.
Last note, I wish my family was like the Dupree’s.
All in all, I truly love this series. Callie does an amazing job writing these books. She’s one of my favorite authors! I haven’t read one yet that I didn’t love. I enjoyed the first Seddledowne series and was delighted to discover this new series with the progeny from the first. (Definitely read the first series first.) This story follows Cash (Ford's son) and Charlie (Ashton's adopted daughter). These two were the oldest of the Dupree cousins. Although Charlie isn't technically blood-related. (Which is important!)
In this story, Cash is just starting his music career. Charlie left home several years earlier under circumstances that strained her relationship with Cash and her family, and eventually, they lost contact with her.
This story gives "prodigal son" vibes. Yes, it is about Cash and Charlie's love story, but it is also about family being willing to love and welcome back one who lost their way. It's about being willing to forgive yourself and see your worth.
I sometimes found Cash's impatience to wait for Charlie to heal to be a bit annoying. I understand he was excited to love her and wanted her to be on the same page, but the girl had some serious trauma to work through.
Overall, this was another sweet (and clean--only some swoony kisses) Seddledowne story. I'm hoping to read more about some of the other cousins!

You really can’t get better than a story with redemption, forgiveness, and growth. Well, through in a family that loves you no matter what… and yeah, it’s a thousand times better, and it shows you just how Christians should act.
I adore Charlie and Cash. I will admit, the whole cousin thing was weird at first, but it really works. (For those who are wondering Charlie’s mom married Cash’s uncle when Charlie was a child) I love how Cash won’t give up, once Charlie is back and single. *insert little bit about Addie, because she’s adorable. Her prayer in ch 2 just tickled me!
I absolutely love the redemption theme in this story, and watching Charlie work through her issues and letting her family love her, and realizing that her experiences didn’t make her unloveable. I loved what they all did to open her eyes and see that no matter what they loved her.
And now, I need a Bowen story since I was teased with it so much through this one 🤭

Where to start, I was so honored to read this book. The premise sounded fun. But here's the thing, you abosloutly need to read the first series. This second gen series had so many people I couldn't keep up. ANd the map at the front of the book helped 0%. There's so much nuance and call backs in the book that I missed so much of what was happening or the magnitude of what they were saying.
On top of that, I felt like these people were in high school. Not post college. I forgot that Charlie was married at multiple points throughout the story. It was all... weird.
I would have given this book 2 stars, because dialogue was weird, the relationships were weird, i was confused most of the time, drama happened that didn't need happening. But it was 3 because there was a point that got me crying. It's 300 pages and I felt like it was a chore to get through. Which is a big ole bummer because I was excited about this one. Oh well. Next time.

Firstly, I had no idea this was a second generation spinoff book when I picked this up. I reccomend reading the previous books before diving into this one because I was sort of lost. There are so many secondary characters (family members) and it was made to seem like I should already be aware of who they were and their individual stories!! There were so many uncles/aunts and cousins and I couldn't keep track of who was with whom.
Secondly, I wasn't not aware this was going to be so religious. I don't know if that's the right word. The family was very religious and spoke about God a lot and while I didn't hate it, it would have been nice to have it stated somewhere in the blurb. My first thought when I read Rockstar romance was not that the mmc would be a virgin at 22!
Lastly, this book came off very Halmarky and extremely cheesy. This is not to mean I disliked the book. It did have a good story to tell, I just wasn't prepared for the very Christian romance story that I read. Overall it was cute, but I will not be reading the previous books
