Sing Me Home: (Seddledowne Two: Finding Home Book 1)
By Callie Mae Shaw (aka Susan Henshaw)
Small town. Big emotions. And one cinnamon roll hero.
Okay besties, grab your comfiest blanket and cue the country playlist, because Sing Me Home gave everything: the slow-burn friends-to-lovers tension, the second-chance ache, the kind of love that shows up and stays—plus a town so cozy, I wanted to crawl into the pages and never leave.
Let’s talk Charlie. My stubborn, scarred, soft-hearted queen. She’s been through it, and yet, she’s still standing. Still fighting. Still trying to believe she deserves love—and watching her finally open her heart? Tears. Literal tears. She’s strong in that “I’ve been broken but I’m still here” kind of way, and that’s my favorite kind of heroine.
And then… there’s Cash freaking Dupree. A rising country star with the soul of a poet, the heart of a protector, and the patience of a saint. This man loves hard. From page one, he had tunnel vision for Charlie, and nothing—not even her walls—was gonna scare him off. The way he waited, listened, showed up? Whew. He’s everything. A swoony, southern, golden-retriever-in-a-baseball-cap dreamboat.
Can we also shower some love on Addie, the little sister with a big faith and an even bigger personality? Her belief that God could answer even with puppies had me both cracking up and secretly tearing up. And the Dupree family as a whole? They’re icons. They’re warm, witty, and fiercely loyal. The way they wrapped Charlie in love without any questions or conditions? It broke my heart (in the best way possible).
Callie Mae Shaw’s blend of humor and heart is chef’s kiss.
And let’s not forget the suspense! Just enough danger and tension to keep me flipping pages like a woman possessed. It gave the emotional arc even more weight and made Charlie’s healing feel that much more earned.
This book is more than a romance. It’s about belonging, grace, forgiveness, and knowing you’re never too broken to be loved. It’s cozy, faith-filled, and swoony as heck without ever feeling cheesy or forced.
If you’re into:
• Protective heroes who would burn the world down for their girl
• Heroines finding their voice and their worth
• Found families that feel like warm hugs
•. Small towns, filled with nosy neighbors and big hearts.
…then Sing Me Home is your next 5-star comfort read.
This one? Straight to the favorites shelf. I laughed, I cried, I swooned—and I already miss Seddledowne. Book 2 can’t come fast enough.
