The magical Faery book inside Hazel’s mind may turn out to be more of a curse than a blessing when the most dangerous warriors in the Fae realm come to cut it from her head. Literally.
After nearly being eaten by ley line monsters while saving her three hundred year old vampire boyfriend from a bounty hunter, Hazel Goode’s not off the hook just yet.
Her haunted house is full of secrets, a strange illness plagues her witchy powers, her dead sister is exhibiting haunting symptoms, and Corwin's not telling her everything about the price on his head.
Add a thirty year old missing persons case, possible mass human sacrifice, and a dangerous Blood witch, and Hazel’s supernatural cup is overflowing.
Things couldn’t possibly get any worse…
…and then, they do.
When a faery assassin attacks Hazel in an effort to gain ownership of the Leabhar Draíocht stored in her mind, Hazel discovers these attacks aren’t about her, but about something even worse happening in the Fae realm.
Something that could affect her, the people she loves, and even all of Shadow Hollow.
Time is running out to save her town from the lingering effects of Mayor Stevens’ vampire experiments, get the bounty off Corwin, and figure out how to safely remove the Leabhar Draíocht - without losing her head.
Or her life.

Every time a book in this story ends I’m like nooooo. You really need to read all the books to make sense of this one..and why wouldn’t you they’re awesome. We pick up where the last story ends. Hazel is still discovering her altered witchy/vampire powers, not to mention fae magic. Her home is becoming a halfway house for supernatural adding a lot of fun and danger to the story. There’s something evil going on in Shadow Hollow. Also a sense of panic from the fae, did her last visit upset the balance? The action and danger heat up throughput this story. I can’t wait for the next one?
Hazel has lived in Shadow Hollow for about six months or so. Her life seems to have gone on a roller coaster ride and it hasn't slowed down. In fact it seems it's speeded up. Now she's on a mission to find Corwin, her vampire boyfriend. He went to Milan for a hearing and she received a call from him that had her trying to figure out a way to him. So she goes to Haywood to help her get to Milan via the ley lines. She gets there and meets a priest who helps her rescue Corwin. They're back home now but she feels like she has the flu. Dr Nash helps her and tells her she needs to expend more magic cause it's building within her. When Nash goes to a conference Hazel has to see the mundane Dr but she doesn't trust him. To make matters even worse, she gets dreams that come true. Through all this she has her sister Willow but then Willow starts fading in and out and losing memory. Plus she keeps getting attacked by faeries looking for their artifact. Too many problems landing in a heap on her head. Then an honest to gosh OK Corral fight happens. Life is fast, hurtful and sorrowful but she blunders through whatever is tossed at her. The story is fast paced and energizing at the same time. An adventure to end adventures but there seems to be more to come!!! Willow her sister back as a ghost. Raven a Crow who is also a witch.

Haywood helps Hazel Goode into the key lines so that she can quickly travel to find her boyfriend, the vampire Corwin who is in Rome and in trouble with the law in the magical community and is on trial. Except, there are a lot of questions. So something happens and she doesn’t end up where she is supposed to be. Things just go to heck from there on out. What else is new? Father Paolo is freaking awesome as are the fight scenes. The Culpas are terrifying and Hazel’s swears are hilarious. I found myself laughing at the oddest moments while reading. I also found myself chewing on nails and muttering at the book. lol. I was just so engrossed in it. The story is just crazy in this round, seems to be getting worse in each new book. Eeeep. Things go from bad to worse and now that her haunted home is now full of people- you’ll see who, other than her dad and Thunder, we learn soooo much. About the town, the people and stuff gets real. Scary enough that my stomach hurt for hours after I finished the book as my mind percolated on the information and I thought about all of the ramifications. Then I freaked more, lol. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Every Vampire Has its Day (Book 5 of Creatures of the Midwest) by Ava Silvers is a paranormal romantic suspense novel. This series and book is one you want to wrap in a blanket, drink tea and settle in for bit. I could not put it down. There is so much going on you need to really digest everything and you really feel for Hazel who can not catch a break. I will say read all the books it helps you with keeping on track. This book picks up right after the other book. Meanwhile every supernatural creature is using her home as a safehouse. She is still trying to understand and grasp her power. There is evil roaming Shadow Hollow and the fae are after her? So much going on and so little time to figure it out. Yeah that’s a lot of twists and turns that keeps you flipping pages. Such an interesting book and I can not wait for more.
I think this has just gotten to be a bit too much for me. I mean I liked the concept from the first book, but everyone since then more and more strange things are added and there’s all these new twists and developments that pile on. It’s just too much. Is the book bad no, but for me I just felt overwhelmed and so I think this is the end of the line for me. My two cents, your mileage may vary.

I am enjoying this series. However, there is still a lot of loose ends for the author to tie up by the end of book 5. My only negative is there are a lot of characters to keep up with and a lot of unanswered questions. I am looking forward to the conclusion.
