This was just as awful as the 1st book in this series. I knew from page 1 that I had made a mistake getting this book. I should have given up after Chico"s book!!!!!:)
I found nothing appealing about any of the characters. There was nothing glamorous of exciting in the "gaucho" polo world that the story is set in....what is gaucho polo??? I have never heard about it!!!
I really didn't feel the luv between the two mc's..in fact I didn't give a toss if they ever got to their HEA......in fact I should have given up by chapter 2 and read another book.
I think I may just give up on this author because the latest books I have read by her have been a total DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!
At the Brazilian’s Command was a well written romance but was not strictly based on marriage of convenience trope because the characters are deeply involved by the time they get married later in the book.
Danny is a strong heroine and I liked the way she did not give in easily when Tiago broke her trust towards the end. Though I do wish she would have stood up to her own mother more. Tiago is a sexy Brazilian who has a reckless past. His grandfather kind of helped him be a better person and it was refreshing to see a hero who was not living neck deep with issues from his past.
The romance was good, however explosive chemistry between the characters would have made this book extraordinary for me personally. I loved that the characters first get to know each other properly before they get married and have sex.
Overall, At the Brazilian’s Command by Susan Stephens is an enjoyable romance which would be loved by the author’s fans. Read More

While at the wedding of their friends the two meet again and Tiago realizes that Danny is the answer to his problem. However Danny has had a life of no one being there for her including her mother. She has always had to do for herself , but she agrees to marry him to have some security for one year. Trust and honesty is one of her demands for their marriage . When by accident she finds that Tiago may not have been totally honest with her she flees. What transpires is a man who realizes that he doesn't want her just for the ranch but because he loves her. A wonderful story that finds two people that actually want the same things but didn't realize it. a very good romance.
Although I adored the ending of this book I have to say that although I don't give spoilers I would have enjoyed the book a lot more without the prologue which I felt was not needed and also not necessary, I will also add that I feel because of the prologue which was quite graphic although the event during the scene was prevented I find it very difficult for the next day our heroine agreeing to such terms.
Any who have been assaulted may find the prologue triggering.
I agonised as to wether to add this in my review but if I'm not 100percent honest then my review would be worthless especially to those trusting me to get honest.
So I'll say this the prologue from our heroines begining does not need to be read there are enough explanations later, but I do adore that love wins in the end.
Not a fan of non virginal heroines when I read a Harlequin Presents and this author's hero names are funny and not in a good way. First it was Chico and now Tiago! Ridiculous! lol
Susan Stephens never ceases to impress her readers with amazing romantic stories! At the Brazilian’s Command is a stunning story wrapped up within dollops of drama, angst and hot sexy scenes, giving this novel a refreshing touch. Tiago Santos portrays the role of a perfect alpha...however, Danny is the jewel in this story— she is strong, feisty and the perfect match for the headstrong hero! Overall, a worthy read.
"Stephens’ heartrending tale takes place in both breathtaking Brazil and the picturesque Scottish Highlands, but it’s her heroine’s need for independence and her hero’s need to protect that shine" (RT Book Reviews, 4 stars).
Tiago and Danny are destined to fall in love but you'd never imagine this handsome, gaucho chasing any woman down. What starts out as an agreement quickly changes for Tiago. Will he find his voice in time? Will he give Danny her HEA!
