Great start to a well written rewrite (say that three times!) of the Harry Potter series. I read this series at least once a year and it has quickly become my preference over the originals. I make no apologies for that. :D

Original Review
I always love getting different interpretations of what might have happened if just one thing was different. This was delightful, very sweet. I like that Draco already is strong enough to want to distance himself from his dad. And it was fun to see who Harry's still friends with even though he's in a different house.
I think the biggest change, though, was Snape. It was fascinating to get to see this author's interpretation of all of the things that would change if Harry were sorted into Snape's house. And how Snape would treat his Slytherins.
I'm definitely looking forward to getting to spend more time in this AU.
Some Favorite Quotes:
"Gryffindors? Sure, they charge in to things that they haven't bothered to understand first, but they're harmless. They're like... Boisterous puppies: any Slytherin worth their salt can make them chase their tails before sending them scurrying off to destroy their own toys."
In his short time in the wizarding world, Harry had come to see that things like ghosts and goblins were real. But he still didn't believe in coincidence.
Draco looked at him askance. "That's your plan? Maybe you should have gone into Gryffindor."

An almost unchanged retelling of the books (so basically a ripoff), quite OOC, and especially written in a way to catch the fanfic reader’s questions before he can ask them, instead of being suitable thoughts/reasoning of the characters.
It’s also too fast-paced, flitting through scenes, and the timing is off, as if the author hasn’t read canon and only watched the bad movies.

This was a Slytherin Harry first year fanfiction. The characterization for Harry, Draco and Snape is very well done.
In the books, Draco came off as almost Gryffindorish with the amount of fights he started. The Draco of this fanfic is closer to his mother and hence less prejudiced. He uses his Slytherin cunning to get even with Ron Weasley.
Harry also uses his brains to get out of trouble or cause some (again for Ron Weasley).
Snape is less of a bully and more of a mentor than McGonagall ever was.
I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

SO CUTE. Young Harry and Draco are close and sweet to each other. They're endgame so my heart is so full seeing their friendship start off how it has.
Harry is a snake but he's made an effort to be close friends with Hermione and Neville. I'm looking forward to seeing how he handles future Slytherin blood purists and if Draco sticks up for his friends.

I'm rating this after reading Second Year, so I may be a bit biased, but honestly I love how this one is very similar to the books so that small changes can add up exponentially in the future (I assume).
