Single Mom’s Protectors is a heartfelt, fast-moving romance that really leans into loyalty, courage, and second chances. Tess Chase brings a warm, approachable writing style that makes the characters easy to connect with, especially the heroine, whose mix of real-world struggles and quiet resilience gives the story genuine emotional pull.
The protectors themselves add a great blend of tension and comfort there’s a steady sense of safety woven through the plot, even when the stakes rise. The chemistry feels natural, and the story delivers enough action and tenderness to keep the pages turning.
It’s not trying to reinvent the genre, but it doesn’t need to. This is a satisfying, engaging read that leaves you rooting for love, safety, and a fresh start. A solid and enjoyable 4-star read.

This Ex-Military Men Romance Book has a RH Mother Romance Story, a well-crafted world and interesting characters. This story has characters with complicated histories, unique personalities and believable interactions. I enjoyed reading how the characters interacted throughout this engaging reverse harem story. She has an abusive Ex she ran from to keep her twins safe. They are Protective Ex-Military Men wanting to keep her safe and to keep her.

It’s interesting to finally read a reverse harem that plays out the way one would imagine in our real lives. I found ‘Single Mom’s Protectors’ interesting from the first page to the last. Damon, Zane, Asher, and Mia were a hot mess for a while there, but, as this is a happily ever after, you can know they figure it out. And jerk-Jason … boy, don’t get me started on Jason. What a relentless piece of work he is.
This is a well written, entertaining, sexy read. Recommended.

Mia Henson works as a nurse in a local hospital and has moved three times in five years to escape her ex-husband, Jason Whitmore. She had taken out a restraining order against him and he refuses to pay any attention to that, always managing to find her and start sending and leaving her threatening messages. Now he has turned up at her place of work and left messages there as well. Her head nurse calls her into her office and has discussed it with the hospital board, and they are offering to bring in professional security to protect her. The hospital will cover the cost, and she is given a business card for Mars Security, to make contact with them. They want her and her twin daughters, Ella and Emma, to be safe, and value her as a nurse. Jason has fixated on her and by the time she realised what he was really like, it was too late, and it took her some time to plan her escape with her daughters, who weren’t actually his, even if he refuses to believe her but won’t dare take a paternity test to prove it. Jason is escalating and called her the day before to tell her he knows where the kids daycare is! She calls the security firm when she gets home with her girls, shocked to hear a voice from her past, Damon Marlow. He had met her one night and they slept together, some six years ago, but then she had disappeared, and he couldn’t find her. Damon unfortunately knows Jason, having served with him, until a bad mission in Kandahar. He knows that Jason won’t give up on something when he wants it and he won’t stop until he gets it! He agrees to meet up with Mia the next evening in her home and can see she has tried to make her home safe, but it won’t be enough.
Jason has been pulling this sort of thing ever since Damon knew him, using fear to control and destroy others. Seeing a photo of her twins he gets a shocking sense of familiarity, thinking there are aspects of his mother and sister in their features. He gets to meet the twins, Emma, the confident and fearless one, who think he is a ninja and Ella, the quieter one. Mia confirms they are not Jason’s, but he sees them all as his property and that they belong to him no matter what. Damon leaves to set up a security plan and calls in his friend and colleague Zane Williams, to start surveillance on her home and workplace. Jason had even tried to hire Zane’s former firm to track down his ex, Mia, but was turned down thankfully. Zane gets an immediate hit on his surveillance as Jason tries to test Mia’s security that night and ends up getting patched up by her later on. He has his own scars from Jason’s betrayal and can’t wait to get his revenge. Zane calls Asher (Ash) Rheins to come and relieve him, so he can check out her workplace before crashing and getting some sleep. Ash can tell that Zane likes Mia by the way he speaks of her and tries to tease him. Ash tells his caretaker Olive, who has looked after him since he lost his parents as a child, that he has a job. The girls ask if he is a superhero like Zane and take to him, just as well as they have to both Zane and Damon. Ash starts a game with the girls as he checks out the house, making the girls part of a Super Secret Agent Academy and letting them play at being Agents, as they check each room. He allows them to point out areas that should be checked to let them learn what to look out for and what will keep them safe. The next day, Mia is called back into the head nurse’s office, with evidence that Jason had been on her floor in the early hours looking for her, asking a patient about her and having a gun clearly on him! This escalation means the hospital can’t have her coming back into work and she is put on leave. This leaves her worrying about how she will pay her rent. Jason goes after the girls and has even managed to get into her home. The terrifying evidence he leaves behind shows he was there whilst she was sleeping!
All three men, Damon, Zane and Ash, are there to keep her and her girls safe, but Damon is the only one she really knows and trusts, even though she is keeping something very important from him. They decide her home isn’t safe anymore, but the safehouse they take her to isn’t either, when Jason has his own hired army of people to track them down. Mia finds herself attracted to different part so each man and soon has shared a kiss with them, leaving her confused and worried about how Damon will react to that, since she went further with him. Each man feels jealousy about how the others look at Mia, dreaming that she could be theirs, which soon causes distractions and tension between the men just when they need to be at their sharpest. One of them starts to pull away and even the girls notice it, as they feel unworthy of a ready-made family. These distractions and tensions allow Jason to strike, and they have to move to much more isolated safehouse. They are all in much closer contact now and she comes clean to Damon about her interactions with the other two men and that she has feelings for them all! The situation causes a problem between them all and Mia has to think about what to do that would be best for her and the twins. Soon she will have even more to worry about as her past comes for her as her protectors are distracted and taken out of play. Jason wants to play with the men for taking what he thinks is his and will have left breadcrumbs behind to lure them in. Mia will fight to free herself and her twins, but the lives of her protectors are also on the line, as well as two unexpected additions she never saw coming, but will be a welcome surprise for their future. Such a shocking storyline as Mia’s ex refuses to let go of her, thinking of her and the twins as his property and something that nobody else can have except for him! Lots of action but also showing the resilience of kids and the fun, they have pretending to be secret agents to copy the three men, as they try to keep safe. A dangerous yet exciting action filled adventure, with an intriguing mixed romance that distracts her protectors and leaves them all in danger.

As a Mom, this storyline completely threw me. Essentially in witness protection with her kids and she is more concerned with gathering her harem than anything else. Too fast and relationships not developed for level of angst. DNF at 58%.

Single Mom's Protectors is a steamy, reverse-harem, single mom gets her military men romance. Mia is a nurse and single mom to twin girls. She has a restraining order against her dangerous and abusive ex, Jason. The hospital she works at offers to hire security. The three men hired to protect her, Damon, Zane, and Asher, all served with her ex. They know he is bad news. To further complicate things, she had a hot time with Damon years ago, and he is the father of her girls. All the men fall in love with her. Throw in some ex danger and drama, some spicy scenes, and cute girls, and you have a decent story. The chemistry was just ok for me, and the story had some gaps. 3.5☆s.

Protectors
Very good book. They had to go through a lot to keep her and the girls safe. Along the way Damon figures out or guesses the girls are his. Once the threat of her ex is over, they decide to ask her to marry them all. She says yes, but only after she tells them that she is pregnant. Great book

Mia is a nurse and mother of twin daughters. Unfortunately she has an ex who thinks he's above the law and has been sending threatening emails.
Damon,Zane and Asher are Mars Security.The phone rings and he answers then hears a voice he hasn't heard in six years. The odd twist is that Damon and Zane have history with her ex. She does tell them he isn't their father although he believes that them like her belong to him. The other twist....I'll leave the reader to guess.
Mia's ex, Jason, was a soldier who served with two of the men. They know how mean and cruel he can be. They know the techniques he's using against her. Then he goes past a boundary that has her tipping off kilter even more. Her daughters are in danger. Zane and Asher tell her she needs to leave her home. Pack what she and the girls need and they'll get them to safety.
The worse timing ever but Mia feels something towards both Zane and Asher added to that Damon. How can she process this when her and her daughters are in danger? They move her to a safe house and discover afterwards that Jason is escalating and getting outside help.
Escalation, intimidation, threats and death all merge with words that will have the reader tense with fright and hope. Will the four be able to figure out the dynamics?
A story that words are used to weave a tale of intrigue and danger.

If you like angst, push-pull, drama, suspense and really, really cute kids in your stories, then this is for you!
A complex story about a found family and opening up to new (and unexpected) family dynamics.
There was a lot of angst, and frankly I got frustrated with all of the characters at so many points in the story!
Normally, I would switch off if all characters were being idiots, but the author had me in a stranglehold just waiting to see who was going to break first.
I’ll honestly admit that I was expecting something different as part of the story line, and well… the author managed to surprise me. I’ll definitely be having a peek at a few of their others….

Single Mom's Protectors was such a good read. I was completely hooked from page one needing to know what happened next! I loved how all the characters tied in together. I thought it was so cute that one of the MMCs ended up being the dad to the adorable little twins.
I enjoyed the storyline and this book was definitely different from others like it, but in a good way! I would recommend this to anyone who loves reading:

Had potential
This book had potential but I didn’t really like how it was written. It seems a lot of phrases were used multiple times close together. One chapter ended one way but then the next chapter picks up but it changed completely. Also in one chapter it was Zane’s pov I think and then halfway through it changed to Mia’s. It was confusing.

This is my first book by Tess Chase and I will be reading more. I love a revere harem that feels like the character just fall together. The men are all friends before her but still it takes time for them to be willing to share. I also loved how Mia wasn’t just a victim. She owed her situation and did the best to make the best for her daughters. There is mention of domestic violence and psychological abuse worth noting if that is a trigger for you.

I absolutely love the stalker trope, especially when it's not our MMC. This book grabbed me right from the beginning and kept me hooked. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and loved the characters. The kiddos were great. This author is new to me, and I will definitely be checking out more of their work.

I loved this story. It had my attention from the first chapter, and I could not put the book down until I reached the last page. The story is well written, and it took on a life of its own. The Mia and her twins have been on the run from her ex ever since before her twins were born. Her ex has now found her again and instead of running she hires a security firm to guard her. She wanted to feel safe, what she had not counted on was another ex-running the security firm. Can Damon and his crew keep her safe? The story is full of suspense, danger, erotic love scenes and romance that leads to a happy ending.

Single Mom's Protectors was an amazing read. I loved that the relationship between them grew naturally. It was not forced but grew as time went on. Even with uncertainty, they managed to work it all out. But the best part was the two super secret agents. The girls were so cute. The way the guys made sure they were included to not feel scared was amazing. I will be reading more by Tess Chase.

Mia is on the run from her ex with her twins in tow. Damon, Asher, and Zane are in charge of protecting the 3 girls. I like this book but I think I wanted more character building. We got a decent amount for Mia but I felt like there could have been more on the guys. Thank you BookSprout for the advanced reader copy!

After digesting this book and factoring my complaints - my final rating is 3.5⭐️ … that rating is heavy on the third act which did a lot of heavy lifting to bring the story home.
I liked the story and pacing 'enough' to follow what was going on- but there were blatant flaws in the writing. My personal draw to broody alphas gives considerable grace to the fact that although the author attempted to give the 3 mmc’s different archetypes, it didn’t fully land.
The spice is hot but it can’t cover the sins of large pitfalls. Mentioning spice, I’m really glad sex didn’t fix their problems. Like any growing situation-ship, they have issues, and having sex can often compound those, and their case it does… I’m glad for the realism in that.
I wish there was more scenes of her with her children. She is there mother, They were isolated for many weeks. Yes the girls got used to the men and their security and newness but I have a hard time believing they would prefer them to their mother so consistently. Once they reach the safe house most of Mia’s scenes are with the men, one or multiple. At times the children were just in their room alone.
Definitely needs another round or two of editing to fix formatting and mistakes, specifically accidental perspective shifts regarding names, settings or objects being incorrect like the author forgot where the characters were, what they were talking about or even who was talking. This isn't a consistent issue but it happens enough times to notice.
If the writing was cleaner and not bogged with unnecessary descriptions or irrelevant narration, I think at least 50 pages could have been shaved; they have a lot of the same arguments more than once. There were major conversational and situational continuity issues - not a huge spoiler but they talked about Asher’s assignment in Dubai a handful of times over the course of nearly a week, but every time it was brought up, someone acted like it was the first time they heard about it.
I could probably go on, but if you took the time to read to this point in my review, you get the idea. It was aggressively average.

Needs Much More Editing
The concept/plot of the story is good but this book needs about two or three more rounds of editing. Details are constantly being switched within the matter of a few paragraphs. Ie- one of the girls, Ella, is attached to a stuffed animal, but then it’ll switch to the other girls name, Emma. At first it was a bunny, then it was a unicorn, then it what a teddy bear, then back to a unicorn. The names of the men are constantly being switched. One moment Asher is speaking in his POV but then it’ll be Zane’s POV but then switches back to Asher the next sentence. Then other parts such as just Asher and Zane are speaking in the kitchen to Mia but all of a sudden Damon is comforting her…where the heck did he enter the situation?? Honestly it made a lot of parts of the story confusing and I had to go back and re-read what I just read to make sure I wasn’t going crazy.

This was quite the angsty read and the author had me hooked, right from the get-go. Mia is on the run with her twins from her abusive ex but with a story that goes full circle, not only is her ex a baddie, he also trained with the security guards hired to help keep her safe...and she had a one-nighter with one of those security specialists. Oops! As you may imagine, there's lots of drama, angst, danger, hot chemistry, secrets and a fab HEA. I really liked how Damon, Asher and Zane worked to keep her safe but also helped her girls get some self defense training. They were really cute with the kids and showed how family can be one that's found, with the best results :) With a great HEA this was a page turner for me and I'm looking forward to what's next by this author :D

This book had me hanging on from page one. I wanted to read it in one day, but I had to sleep sometime…right?
I loved the ups and downs from the beginning . As a mother myself I understand the lengths Mia went to inorder to keep her girls safe. Although she is a work of fiction I admire her and her Fierce Mama Bear Energy (Grit). Even though she was scared for her life she always put her daughters first, and when it came down to it she proved what would go to inorder to protect them.
Damen, Asher, Zane are three completely personalities and Mia is exactly what they all need to ground them and turn their worlds upside down.
I am 100% going to be recommending this book to everyone I know.

My actual rating is probably a 3.5. I did like the story and the plot. Mia, is what you would expect of a mother being stalked in how she tries to protect her kids. You see her trying to trust again. While I think it might just be me, I didn’t feel like the 3 MMCs were what I was expecting. I thought they would be more together. They’re a private security firm but, for me, that didn’t fit. It felt more like 3 guys just winging it. I was expecting that part of them to come more into the story.
As I said before, I did enjoy the story but I had hang ups about certain things. It could just be me though.

My lordie... this book was really really REALLY good! I've read reverse harems before and this one is one my favorites that I've read so far. All three of the men in here have me kicking my legs in the air and squealing constantly! The writing was super easy to follow and I loved the pictures that I was seeing in my head while I was reading. I would read the trigger warnings before reading because the spicy scenes are... VERY SPICY and there is talk about domestic violence and abuse. If there ever will be a book two I would most definitely read it!.

This is a great reverse harem book and a finding out your a daddy story. Mia and her daughters are in danger from her ex, and she has done everything that she can to keep her daughters safe. When the danger comes to her work space, she realizes that she needs more help than just herself. That’s when her past comes home to roost, the father of her daughters is the security company that the hospital hired for her. When he hears from her it all comes back to haunt them both, then you mix in two other men who are to help protect her and her daughters.
They all fall for each other and their love is deep and lasting.
