Second rate effort.

This book was not nearly as good as the first on. The author spent the first 55 pages repeating the same information over and over, pointlessly. Five pages would have sufficed but 55 pages were used as filler to lengthen the book, possibly to justify the price increase over the first novel.
Once you get through the slog to page 60 things finally start happening and from there to the end it was a reasonably engaging story.

Science Fiction

While the book was well written, it was nothing more than alternative science fiction. It ignored all of the logistical challenges Germany faced when invading Russia. Soviet generals were treated as incompetent and Russian troops were easily defeated. Far too unrealistic even for alternative history.

Not quite as engaging as the first book of the series, but interesting to see the continued effects of Churchills demise. I've read a variety of alternative history books and if you are a fan of the "what if this had/hadn't happened" its a good read.
