Secrets for a Duchess is Book Six in the Duchess of Blackmoore Mystery Series and continues the paranormal murder-mystery thrills readers have come to look forward to in this series. We are reintroduced to Laura, the adult daughter of Duchess Cate and Duke Marcus Northcott, who has been invited to Blackmorre Castle by Edwin Fletcher to help organize The Fletcher Agency, at least that’s what Edwin professes. Tilly, Lenora’s childhood best friend, was killed and is now a helpful spirit who assists other ghosts, with the help of Lenora, who are seeking answers and peace. This brings us to Clara, the innocent maid brutally murdered, who is attempting to prevent another murder of Lord MacCovington, and he is not the only one in the MacCovington family targeted by the murderer.
I thought this book was a fascinating murder mystery with more twists and turns than a fast-paced roller coaster. The characters were well-written, and their interactions, although at times complicated, proved to be both entertaining and highly emotional. The storyline was highly suspenseful, and the tension intensified with each chapter. There was a romantic element that also enhanced the story, as well as tragedy that urged the reader to seek answers. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

Bumbling fun
This is not a fan of expert detectives. Rather our heroine is helped along by her brother in law and Husband more in a comic relief way. Despite all the paranormal help, they mostly find the answer by bumping into it. Still it's fun and the characters interplay is funny.
