A really good speech therapy resource. This cute little book incorporates facilitation of basic phonological awareness skills such as rhyme required for reading. It’s also a nice resource for teaching different sounds at word final position for the kiddies with SSD :)

Stop, Drop, and Flop in the Slop brings awareness to young learners who are developing a foundational understanding of consonant blends. In a friendly, yet simple story student are able to focus on how the beginning consonant blend sound change in order to form a word. The text is basic enough to allow students to place a primary focus on the skill at hand. A beneficial follow up activity would be having students use consonant blends to form different words that end in -op, or perhaps use a different ending sound.

This is a simple phonics primer that depicts short vowel sounds with consonant blends in a book with fun rhymes and big, colorful illustrations. It's a great way to introduce children to reading principles. We enjoy these books and will look for more from this author.

This book is great for teaching about vowel sounds with consonant blends. Chunks and word families can be taught using this book. There are several books in the series and are good for Kindergarten and 1st grade.

This one was harder than the other in this series we read since there were many consonent blends that are difficult for my 3 1/2 yr old to say.

I love this book, because "flop" and "slop" are two of my favorite words, and I use them in communication frequently. Just ask my husband.
