This book was Very poorly edited and had many issues. It seemed to start ok, but by the end i was too confused and honestly bored.
Ii have said this on other books, and it brars repeating: we Need some indication of telepathic speaking that is separate from other text or inner dialogue. Trying to figure out if a line is "spoken" or just text.
There was Constant switching between 1st and 3rd person. Damon was referencing to himself in the 3rd person (though i suspect this was just the wrong name used, should have been Noah instead of Damon)
It took 4 months to suddenly realize you are pregnant? Then held captive 45+ more days, and still not showing?
Plus, got pregnant in a dream? How does that work?
How did she suddenly become this badass warrior? After being with Damon a few weeks and then catatonic for a few months, recovered, then tied up for another 7 weeks, she can suddenly defeat leaders of their army in battle?
I also didn't really get any emotions from them. I couldn't understand how they were so in love instantly. I barely got some devastation when she was catatonic. I did get angry that when they finally saw each other after months og this, she immediately jumps back into bed with him. No! Have some self-respect, at least.
I could keep going, but you get the idea. I did not like this book and will never recommend it to anyone.

Boring
I’ll be upfront and say I DNF’ed this at 65%. I just couldn’t get into it. Maybe it’s because I picked this up soon after finish a really good human x wolfie shifter story and couldn’t help but compare. I thought human turned shifter would be a really good follow up but sadly I just found the story and characters lacking. I couldn’t really sense the chemistry between Emmaline and Damon. Usually I can power through a lack of chemistry if the storyline is good, but the whole feral curse thing and the rejection to protect the mate from the curse was so bad. Literally had the MMC Damon regretting after one chapter. I’m all for angst, but not when it’s added so unnecessarily. I tried but this just wasn’t for me.

Not Your Typical…
…Rejected mate story.
This is a romantasy worth diving into. I can say that my sleep was much lacking when I dove into this book and kept telling myself “just one more chapter”. We all know how that goes. There wasn’t a boring chapter to be read in this book. No long soliloquies that make your eyes roll. Just two MC’s that are loving and completely bad ass when it counts. Vera Fae has done an excellent job of creating a world you can envision as you read this story.

This is one of the best stories I have read in this series. It was perfect in every respect. Thank heaven Emmiline's pregnancy was not in the forefront of this story. There was actually some substance other than having an Alphas baby and he doesn't know.

I made it thru 27 books out the 100+ in this series and this one made me lose interest. This is probably one of the worst plots I've ever come across in a book. I have to say, this is NOT one of my favorite authors.

Long read
I almost put this one down. It drug on and on. It starts out with dream and awake segments that were confusing. After about 30 chapters, the story really begins.
