Can you imagine being falsely accused by your mother-in-law of flirting with your father-in-law and then having something sharp and pointy thrown at you? Or what if you find out that you're the other woman, not the bride to be and then your so-called fiancée wants to ghost you? After he spent your money? Or your sister is trying to stab you in the back?
The jerks in the thirteen stories in this novel, are not just annoying, insulting liars but are downright mean. But take courage! Just when things are looking bleak for the hero or heroine in each story, the Uno reverse card is thrown down. That is to say the script is flipped on the entitled idiot who soon finds themselves begging for mercy. Forget being stabbed in the back; this book is all about karma biting back. A satirical read about mother-in-laws, sisters, former best friends and others who think they're the boss of everyone! Cringe at the attitudes of people who think they're above everyone and the universe exists to serve them. Filled with irony, humor and ridicule, these stories poke fun at self-proclaimed elites, and end with their downfall.
Sure, we're not supposed to enjoy, let alone seek revenge, but whether it's served hot or cold, revenge is a satisfying dish! And pretty funny at times as well.
