Warning! This gay erotic romance novella is intended for an adult audience and contains explicit scenes of sexuality.
CHRIS SCULLY lives in Toronto, Canada. She grew up spinning romantic stories in her head and always dreamed of one day being a writer even though life had other plans. Her characters have accompanied her through career turns as a librarian and an IT professional, until finally, to escape the tedium of a corporate day job, she took a chance and began putting her daydreams down on paper.
Tired of the same old boy-meets-girl stories, she found a home in M/M romance and strives to give her characters the happy endings they deserve. She divides her time between a mundane 9-5 cubicle job and a much more interesting fantasy life. When she’s not working or writing (which isn’t often these days) she loves puttering in the garden and traveling. She is an avid reader and tries to bring pieces of other genres and styles to her stories. While her head is crammed full of all the things she’d like to try writing, her focus is always on the characters first. She describes her characters as authentic, ordinary people—the kind of guy you might meet on the street, or the one who might be your best friend.
Although keeping up with social media is still a struggle given her schedule, she does love to hear from readers.
I will be honest here, when I saw the words “erotic romance”, I hesitated. What can I say, I am a reader who prefers an emphasis on the romance – but not particularly the “erotic” ones. In fact, I can appreciate fade-to-black sex scenes because my definition of romance often happens outside of the bedroom. Anyway, yes, I hesitated. But this little story is by Chris Scully! I have read all of her published ones and I loved them all. So I decided to give this a go.
And OMG … this was more than just erotic, people!! This story was touching and tender at the same time that it was sensual. There was actually character progression and a tender romance going on among the erotic massage scenes. There was a depth to the love story, and at one point, it even brought TEARS to my eyes.
Erik is a 49-year-old massage therapist who gives special after-hours sessions (for free) for selected clients. The session is meant to give pleasure to the clients. Erik doesn’t have penetration sex with them, but he does penetrate them by fingers or toys if necessary. It is meant to help these clients but at the same time it also becomes a personal connection between Erik and his partner, who suffered from ALS. Erik will tell his paralyzed partner about his sessions and through the power of fantasy, it becomes their way of sexual relationship.
Of course you need to have an open mind about this. I personally did not see this as cheating. Erik’s partner, George, consensually agreed to these sessions. And there was no doubt in my heart that Erik loved George so very much – even when Erik started to feel alive again during a session with one of his young clients, Jeremy. It was Erik’s pleasure to give out to his clients first – and a way to connect with George – even if there were kisses along with sexual touches exchanged between Erik and his clients.
The erotic massages scenes were wonderfully written. I didn’t skim any pages!! It made my skin all tingly. There was another session that Erik conducted for a stroke patient, and it involved his wife too (because the session was arranged by the wife, since the husband was having difficulties in the bedroom and he felt depressed), and it was loving and healing, and I felt so happy for the couple.
This story reminded me of a story involving sex a surrogate, written by Eli Easton (The Mating of Michael). That when it comes to these sessions, it is all about the power of healing and giving pleasure without being personally or emotionally attached to the people involved.
** spoiler paragraph **
Although in Erik’s case, he did end up being emotionally attached to Jeremy, but still, I felt that it grew naturally. There was a connection there, that just touched their souls, and in a sense it also healed Erik’s heart. It was beautiful, BEAUTIFUL, read. And despite the quite big age-gap between Erik and Jeremy, I believe they get their HEA.
Bottom line ... try this one! It has FEELZ!
And more people should READ Chris Scully when looking for good lovely romance #justsayin'

It's stories like this that make me wish I was better at reviewing, sigh.
Everyone needs a little sexy time now and then, but Touch Me is more than just an erotic romance! I was deeply touched, brought to tears at one point and fully enjoyed the sweet & sexy ending of Erik & Jeremy.
It's a powerful story. The characters are endearing, and yes, it is super sexy! + a lot of feelings.
**** THANK YOU! This was a wonderful, wonderful story. I loved and adored every page of it.
This was not all what I expected. I expected an erotic short about a man giving erotic massages. I was in the mood for that.
But no, this book deals with heavy subjects. It floored me.
----Beware, spoilers----
This is told from Erik’s POV. Erik is a 49 year old man, who is not only giving out regular massages during his day job as a masseur, he also gives some special people erotic massages. He gets to know these people on the internet and invites them to his practice. These people don’t pay Erik, because Erik is doing this to help.
He helps people with touch. To learn how to enjoy physical release (again).
If this would have been the story, I would have been thrilled, but it was not ‘just’ this.
We find out that Erik has a partner, who he has been together with for 26 years. But his partner, George, is dying. It was George’s idea about the erotic massages. Erik never participates himself, except to give someone else pleasure. They never touch him back.
We get Erik’s experiences with 22 year old Jeremy, who rocks his world. And we get to read about Erik helping an older couple getting back on track with their sexlife.
I loved what Erik did for people. I thought it was beautiful what he accomplished and how much people needed it.
But this book was so depressing. We get Erik’s depressing thoughts about the love of his life dying, we get his confusion about being very attracted to young Jeremy. And we even get to be there when George dies and how Erik is crushed, but also relieved. And how he finally starts something with Jeremy, who never gave up on him.
It was just too heavy for me. I kind of have a hard time enjoying an erotic short if death plays such a big role in it…
>: Erik is a massage therapist by day who offers specialized sessions to a few clients afterhours. Erik touches them, helps them, tries to heal if he can. He takes away the experience. We don’t get to know why he does this until part way through the story and by then I was completely hooked on Eric.
I’ll be honest, I started this book with trepidation. I honestly didn’t think I was going to like the subject matter. And then, well, unbelievable. This author managed to make what could have been tawdry if written wrong into something haunting and emotional. The sex is there, yes, but the reason behind it, oh so painful. Erik is in such a difficult place, you want to cry for him. And I did, for both he and George. And when Erik tells George about Allan and Cindy I sobbed. I can’t even fathom being in such a position, either of them. George isn’t the focus here, yet he is. He motivates so much of what Erik does, what is important to him. What Erik does for people, for George, takes so very much out of him.
The missing link of this is Jeremy, a young man Erik helps, one who Erik feels such a connection with. One who helps Erik keep a little bit of himself with his emails and his normalcy.
This is a novella that is missing nothing. It is erotic fiction that encompasses so much more than that. I was surprised at the depth of connection I felt for these men, the emotions this story evoked and how much hope can be present even while the sadness is there. This is a story of sad endings and new beginnings and I can’t recommend it enough.
Lovely little erotic short from Chris Scully. I've read everything she's written, her writing is an absolute delight and this novella has a real feel good vibe. 4.25 stars from me, would have loved it to have been a little longer, the cover was delicious!!
What's it about?? I hear you cry...well, as with Inseparable and When Adam Kissed Me, you should know that it will be a decent story, and this one revolves around Erik who is a masseuse, and who, despite the dreadfully sad stuff going on in his personal life, has time for other people and their problems. His partner George lives vicariously through Erik and his job...I'll let you discover the rest. Enjoy!!
This is a remarkable story that totally took me by surprise. I expected erotic romance and I got it. I expected a well written work by Chris Scully, and I got that too. What I did not expect was to get all flustered and waste a whole box of tissues I was sobbing my eyes out! The author owes me back my heart.... **sniffles**
Eric went into erotic massage for a reason and it is not from the usual ones. The longer he went into this, the more he found that he was actually helping out a lot of people much like a sex therapist does. Picking clients was a long process for him, but when he finally does, he leaves them not only satisfied but realizing that there are things in life much taken for granted and sex was one of them.
Unfortunately for Eric, he touches everyone but no one reciprocates. His touch healed others but not him. When personal tragedy strikes he is surprised that the least person he thought would help him out would be this young college boy he gave a happy ending to a few months back.
This is a short story but it packs a whole lot of insight into the world of erotica. It brings romance to a whole new level and opens quite a few doors of the unexpected. Yes, this is erotica, but it does not read as such because of the depth of feelings and thoughts brought out by this little work.
To call this novel an erotica is such a gross understatement. Who would have known you could get a complete story with subtleties and rich characters that you feel for in something so short? Somehow the author managed to get me to care about these characters want them to end up together and showed that sexuality isn't just about getting off, that those involved in the adult industry (in this case, erotic massage) have the ability to truly help people. When it came to scenes of watching the protagonist finally give himself permission to please himself without guilt and say his final goodbyes, it about ripped my heart out. I'd love to see a longer version of this story. I think it'd make an incredible full-length novel.
I was lucky enough to do a beta read for the author of this novella and what an enjoyable task that was! I wouldn’t say erotic fiction is my favourite genre but this short is much more than erotic. Erik – the main character – gives healing massages to clients, using his hands to nurture their curiosities or dispel their temporary dips in libido. Weaved into the erotic massages are some deep and thought provoking issues surrounding the human need of that sense called touch. Erik shows us that the delicate motion of fingers on skin is sometimes all we need to get over the lulls in life. But who is going to help Erik get over the dark times in his life?
When young Jeremy comes to his studio for his first experience of a man’s touch, Erik plays the professional and tries to ignore the desires his new client provokes. The question is: how long can Erik resist his own needs?
There is a level of depth to this story that seemed to suit the subject matter. I certainly got an education on how important the touch of another can be, and after reading this I felt I had been rejuvenated by Erik’s masterful hands.
Reread: Freaking summer is on full blast here and I can't concentrate on anything too complex right now, so I thought I'd reread this short story, just to relax a bit. Still loving it!
***
A fantastic, quick and highly enjoyable short story.
At first glance you only see that it's incredibly hot and written beautifully, but after Erik's second session, you get the whole picture: how touch-starved he is, how awfully helpless he feels because of what's happening with his long-time partner, and how much he longs to feel close to someone again. Despite the heavy theme, the drama in this was not overdone at all and it - thankfully - managed to end things on a positive note.
Jeremy was a sweetheart and I clearly have some weird fetish for age-gap romances, because this one just did things to me, man.
I rarely go for short stories in this genre because I feel that they almost never manage to achieve the depth of characterization I really crave, but this novella surprised me.
I'll definitely check out more of the author's work after this!
I bought this a LONG time ago and never got around to reading it for some reason. So, I'm swiping through my Kindle carousel looking for something short and porny...see the cover and think, "Voila!" Well, it's porny alright. But OMG my heart, it aches. Such a touching story about love and loss and rediscovery.
Jeremy's first tale was so hot and I like the satisfaction Erik gets out of introducing a guy to the wonders his body is capable of. And Allen's story? Fuck, that's why sex therapy is indeed a real thing - so much more than a rub&tug - and practitioners should be worshiped for the work they do & not treated like prostitutes. (A profession I have absolutely no qualms with if that's the job a person wants, but the majority of society doesn't see it that way. Which is also sad.)
Jeremy part 2 & Erik's tale both made me sad & happy at the same time. Sad for Erik's loss but happy that he's got someone there by his side who wants to be there. Even if it's not forever, and that age gap is significant, it's exactly what Erik needs to feel whole again...to be touched in return, finally, after so long without that basic human need - oh gawd. Chokes me up a bit, you know?
Underneath it all though? That desperate need for some way to stay intimate with the love of your life knowing that sharing these stories, these encounters, is the only way - and worse, that it won't last much longer? Heart-breaking & yet somehow also life affirming. Whatever, I cried.
This may be tagged erotic fiction but it was so much more than that. It was emotion and healing and a whole lot of sniffles.
Eric lives in a world that is emotionally difficult. His partner of 30 years is dying of ALS and Eric often doesn't know whether to feel relief that his suffering will be ending soon or the the anchor of grief that often follows him around. As a way to maintain intimacy with his partner, he helps to heal others through erotic massage. Jeremy, a young man who was the recipient of such a massage, eventually forms a friendship with Eric and in time, becomes the catalyst to help Eric begin healing from his own pain. I really enjoyed this well written and rather beautiful story. I found that while I enjoyed it's length, I really wish it were expanded, however it packed quite a punch in a short amount of pages.
*whispers* And there's lots of sex. Very well written sex.
Recommended to anyone who likes healing romances or a sexy short story.
4.5 stars - This novella packs a surprising punch. One of the MCs, Erik, is dealing with seriously heavy issues relating to a continuing shift in his and his partner George's relationship and its inevitable end. The appearance of Jeremy, a client Erik starts to connect to, becomes a focal point as Erik tries to sort out his feelings and the guilt that comes from feeling something for someone other than George.
While Erik and Jeremy's relationship was meant to be one of the main focal points of the novel, I found myself touched by George and his truly perfect love for Erik. Even when things reached their worst, George ensured that Erik would be okay after his passing. Scully handled the difficulty of George and Erik's reality with delicacy and a very sweet love story in the midst of the more erotic content.
So glad my friend Jenn recommended this one to me!

Was initially afraid that this story would be primarily a sex romp, but I was very happily surprised! Yes, there was plenty of amazingly graphic erotica, but so much more in the intense emotional realm. The heartache of a dear life partner's loss was balanced perfectly w/ the blossoming new live. Only wish it were a longer story.
Cover: I love how the title jumps out at the reader on the cover, the model looks very relaxed and has a cute smile. It is a nice cover, but the appliances on the little table next to the cover model don’t seem to have anything to do with the story.
Title: Short and attention-grabbing! With touch being so important for the story, it really suits it!
Story: This story has only about 64 Pages, so it is fairly short. I had no idea what to expect, but I really liked what the author wrote in her guest post (link above) and was excited to start.
I’ve never (to my knowledge) read a story by this author, but the story jumped in right at the beginning of the action and I liked the style instantly. Now I’ve read my fill of erotica stories, but they are often devoted merely to getting the reader of, instead of telling an erotic story in a beautiful, sensual way. This one really surprised me. There were only ever three other LGBT erotica stories that stood out for me. At least from the top of my head. The first two books from the Market Garden series by Aleksandr Voinov and L.A. Witt (haven’t read the others yet), Country Mouse by Aleksandr Voinov and Amy Lane and Try by Ella Frank. Most other erotica stories full fill the purpose they were written for, but are rather unremarkable and forgettable after that. Perhaps some of you have other suggestions for well-written LGBT erotica stories? PLEASE share in the comments!!!
Anyway, this story is divided into three sections. Each section is titled for the person getting an erotic massage. The first client is rather young, but thankfully legal. Erik, the main protagonist, selects his clients carefully and does one erotic massage every month, free of charge. He loves to help people, but has other reasons as well as we find out. I really liked though, that before anything happened the consent was recorded and age verified for the record. At a time where too many authors assume that non-consent is hot… I think that full consent is SO MUCH hotter!!! Thank you for that, Chris!
With that and the nice, professional massage set-up, it is quickly apparent that Erik is not some weird, sleazy pervert. He is likable and good at his job and the first massage is very sensual and erotic. i didn’t mind one bit that Erik was much older than his client or that Erik was hot for him as he massaged. The first exploration of sexuality, willing and curious and by the hand of someone gentle and experienced was very intimate and well-written. But there is more to Erik and why he does what he does and it prevents him from getting closer to this client, even if he is more attracted and drawn to him than to any of the others.
The next part is a month later. The client is older than Erik, struggling with a body that is failing him. He does not know exactly why he is there, but again consent is important before anything else happens. It is a beautiful scene with a touch of bisexuality in it. Not just sexual, erotic, but extremely intimate. Beautiful. Very different from the first part in a way, it shows the range of clients Erik takes on and the ways he can help people with it. It is very important to really understand him and what he does.
Part three is where past and future collide in a dramatic, heart-wrenching way that really made me feel strongly for Erik and the pain he had to endure. It is bittersweet as all the moments of joy he had in his past and that would be in his future are easy to see, but the present is not easy for him to handle. Good that he doesn’t have to handle it alone ;)
This book went way beyond my expectations. It feels completely rounded and didn’t leave me unsatisfied, even though it was short. It was very sensual and erotic, but never cheap and easy. There is lust, romance, love, loss. It is just a beautiful story that works in every way and I can very highly recommend it! 10 out of ten pots of gold
Oh my…. what an amazing story. This was a short story and will probably be a short review, because I really don’t want to talk about the plot much and give it away. You just have to read it to see what happens.
Erik Morgan is a massage therapist that does a little extra work on the side. Not paid work, he is NOT a prostitute, he does not sell his services. But he takes on one client a month, that he helps sexually. No intercourse occurs, it really is more therapy than sex. He has something going on in his life that sets him on this path of help and healing, which really does help and heal not only him but his clients as well.
We see him interact with two clients, a younger man exploring his sexuality for the first time, and an older man who has had a stroke and is having issues being sexual with his wife. Both of these experiences are beautiful to watch, but for very different reasons. The younger man gave me a nice little thrill, he’s so innocent and new to this all, it was fun and sweet. Then the session with the older man made me cry. Also sweet but in a different way.
This is not your typical romance story, there isn’t any “romance” to it. It is sad and sweet, and affected me deeply for a couple of reasons that are too personal to talk about here. It was not what I expected at all, I thought this would be a little fluffy, sexy story, with no plot, just some sex. That is NOT what this story is. It is short and perfect. Deep and meaningful. It was painful at times, and I giggled at times. But damn, it was so good. I am usually ambivalent about short stories, they tend to be either all sex and no plot, or insta-love, or too much plot crammed in to a short story. This was just right. I don’t want to know what happens next. I can imagine how it goes in the future just fine, I don’t want to have my fantasy changed by reality. The writing was great, the delicate scenes were beautifully written with a light hand. The characters were deep, even the ones that spent very little time on page had a nice feeling to them. The sexual situations were perfect. I’m not familiar with Chris Scully, but I will go hunt down more of her books!
I have read two amazing short stories in two days. I am a very happy girl.

This novella is a delight. I was pulled into Erik's world and found myself breathing along with him.
It opens very sensually. Massage is a sensual art. And when done with the dedication and compassion that Erik shows to his special clients it becomes a beautiful, erotic and often healing experience. We only get to meet a couple of his special clients, but each one showed a side of Erik that was compelling.
There is much more to Erik's story than we at first expect. We discover the complex and painful motivations of his special services. We begin to see a man in midlife, strong, caring, dedicated to helping people, suffering silently. I loved Erik. I felt his pain and his love.
When Erik meets someone who sees beyond the facade that Erik lives behind I couldn't help but get excited for him. Hope that maybe, even if it was just for a moment, or as a distraction, Erik had someone who was focused on him.
Chris Scully excels at the short story. In a few pages this author will pull you in and have you turned on, engaged fully with the characters and hoping for a resolution that if not HEA is at least a very satisfying HFN.
Erik is a massage therapist who offers certain clients something extra (but he does not penetrate his clients with his dick). Like a client who suffered a stroke and can't get an orgasm with his wife. Why he does this, I will not explain. He's not in it for the money, but has good personnel reasons. One of his clients is Jeremy. A gay virgin who comes to experience gay sex (without the dick penetration). Erik usually only has one session with a client. Jeremy stays in his thoughts. After a few months they see each other again. Erik still can't have penetrative sex, but it is obvious he feels more for Jeremy. Not long after that Erik does become available for Jeremy and they finally have sex. This was a nice short story, with more emotion than you would expect. I liked the connection between the MC's, but I would qualify this as HFN. Erk is 49 years old, Jeremy is 21. That age gap is just too much for me. I'm sure they will fuck each others brains out for a while...but HEA??? I don't think so.
In a word: Read the thing. Immediately after finishing Until September I went looking for some of the author’s other works; I found a few that looked promising but I chose this one because it wasn’t very long and it was a standalone. I’m not as big a fan of this one as I am Until September, but I still really like it. It’s pretty much porn but it’s also very emotional. At first it seems like it’s just a story about a massage therapist who sometimes provides ‘happy endings’ after hours, but as you read on you realize that there is more going on in the background. And the ‘more’ that’s going on is both devastating and beautiful in turns. If you’re looking for a lighthearted read this ain’t it. But if you want emotion with your porn, Touch Me has it in fucking spades.
What a beautiful story of love and loss. Erich is a massage therapist whose partner is ill. Jeremy is a young guy who is trying to come to terms with his sexuality. They meet under unusual circumstances and unlike other clients, Erich feel something different towards Jeremy. They carry on a correspondence of sorts. We get to see what else is happening in Erich's life and know that he will experience heartbreaking loss. I don't want to spoil the plot this is just a really well written story that gives us a glimpse into these two lives that intersect more than once and might just lead to something more.
I am looking forward to the first full length novel from this author as I've really enjoyed all her shorts that I've read.
Chris Scully did a beautiful job writing this short story. The main character, Erik Morgan, who does erotic massages on special clients, was so believable, you felt like you were right there with him enjoying what he did. This story was erotic, touching, very moving, and yet sad at the same time. When Jeremy comes along for a massage, Erik's life was touched with this young man. Erik's partner was dying and I really believe if Jeremy hadn't touched his heart their lives would have been so much different. I highly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed. I loved it. Life can change with a little touch.
I loved this story about Erik and the erotic massages he gives to a select clientele, just once and for no payment. Jeremy comes in to discover his body and his sexuality. Jeremy is a young man, a couple of months short of 23. While Erik is an older man, he does the erotic massages for the man he loves, George. This is a beautiful story of endings and beginnings. I cared very much for Erik who loved deeply the men in his life. You will not ever regret reading this story, you will love all the different characters.
One of the most beautiful books i've read. It was so stunningly tender and loving and just incredibly touching. I loved every word of it. It was poetic in its fluidity and grace. My favorite book by Chris Scully was Inseparable till now (And I LOVED Inseparable). This is by far her best book yet. Just read it!
This story is different to most i read in a way. Erik is 49 years old his an erotic massage therapist. He pleasure people who need help so yeah it different. The only thing different is he doesn't sleep with them. He helps an married couple. He also has an session with an younger man Jeremy who he is discovering his gay. By they end they become emotional attached but for erik he is also losing his partner who he been together half is life is dying. so yeah this story is touching heartfelt heartbreaking but also hopeful.
I was a little hesitant reading this. I had some problems with this. It did feel a little creepy. It's a huge age difference (it's even more than 10). But I liked that Erik let Jeremy initiate most of it, it helped the creepy factor. I just thought it was a little weird how easily he came out after his lover's death. Especially after the 26 years they had together. Nonetheless, it was a nice story.
Great new author Chris Scully, recommended by Author Jamie Lake. This was emotional and a path to discovery for both Eric and Jeremy. I don't want to give anything away so I will just let you know that this story is hot and I will look to read more from Chris Scully.
I'm not great with long, detailed comments (in fact, I suck at them) so I'll keep it short. This book is amazing. It deserves an award! (But I have no idea which one, because I don't know what they are.) One of the best stories have read in a while. Thumbs up from me!
