Memory Dust

Note from the Author

Memory Dust is NOT a conventional story — and it’s NOT meant for everyone. It’s a psychological journey designed to challenge both the characters and the reader. If you find yourself confused at times, that’s intentional. The narrative plays with perception, memory, and the fragile link between what we remember and what we believe is real.

Our sense of reality is shaped by memory. When those memories are altered — by trauma, manipulation, or illness — reality shifts with them. In this story, Elena’s world changes as Lucas distorts her memories, and with them, her perception of truth. This isn’t just fiction; it's inspired by real people — like a man whose diabetes began affecting his memory in strange and unpredictable ways, distorting how he experienced the present.

So if Memory Dust feels disorienting, read it AGAIN. Let it unravel slowly. The truth is buried in the layers — just like in the human mind. And if it doesn’t all click right away, that’s okay — complexity isn’t failure. Just don’t judge it harshly for being a puzzle.

And now, the book

Some memories are a gift. Others are a trap.
After a near-fatal accident, Elena wakes to a world that feels almost real. Almost hers. But small cracks begin to show—glimpses of lives she never lived, echoes of a voice she once loved, and a growing sense that something inside her mind has been rewritten.
Lucas was her lover. Now he’s something else—part man, part machine, part memory. And he wants her back.
As Elena searches for the truth, she’s pulled into a collapsing world of corrupted code, artificial realities, and fractured identity. To reclaim herself, she’ll have to outwit the system Lucas built... and decide whether to destroy the man he once was—or help him remember how to be human again.
Memory Dust is a gripping psychological thriller with a supernatural edge—perfect for fans of Black Mirror, Dark Matter, Verity, and Inception. Blending romance, mind-bending sci-fi, and heart-wrenching emotion, this novel explores love, memory, and the haunting cost of control.
What if your memories weren’t yours? Would you still be you?

This book gave me an emotional software update I didn’t ask for. Now I cry over artificial intelligence and whisper “Lucas, no…” at random times. Thank you, Radu Niculescu, for breaking me beautifully. I’ll definitely be reading more of Radu work. If you like your thrillers with a side of emotional trauma, this is it.

Memory Dust hooked me right away with its eerie atmosphere and mind-bending plot. I loved Elena’s journey and the emotional pull of Lucas’s character. A couple of plot threads felt a little rushed near the end, but the overall experience was satisfying and memorable. Definitely a book I’d recommend to anyone craving a smart, emotionally charged thriller.

This book floored me. The writing is elegant, the pacing tight, and the concept unforgettable. Niculescu creates a world that feels just off enough to be haunting. If you enjoy psychological thrillers with a soul, don’t skip this one.
