He waited four hundred years for her…
She only ever wanted to find her mate…
Their time has come.

Gates is a legend among his fellow wolf shifters. For more than four centuries, he's lived without a mate, something nearly unheard of in his breed. He's spent that time mastering the art of the kill, becoming a lethal weapon for the Feral Breed Motorcycle Club, and earning a reputation as the Gatekeeper.

Kaija Wariksen grew up as the Valkoisus pack princess. The Alpha's only daughter and a powerful Omega shewolf, Kaija's beauty and place within the pack hierarchy makes her the focus of desire for many of the unmated males, especially one she's desperate to stay away from. She'd rather wait for her fated mate than be just another bed warmer for a man with more attitude than brains.

But when a territory dispute turns into a kidnapping, Gates and his Feral Breed brothers are called to assist the Valkoisus pack in a rescue operation. Gates soon discovers there's more in store for him than a fight. He finds his mate in the Alpha's daughter, a woman targeted by a mystery sect kidnapping Omega shifters. To keep the Valkoisus pack safe, the Feral Breed must put Kaija in danger, risking the only thing Gates has ever needed, and igniting a rage that could destroy the entire wolf shifter population.

Full-length novel - adult content featuring a rough-and-tumble wolf shifter, a brave BBW, and some naughty time spent outdoors.

Had potential but.....

Gates and his Feral Breed brothers are called upon to help a pack in need but when they arrive it's to a very different situation than they expected, what they thought was a territory dispute turned out to be a kidnapping.
The Valkoisus pack is in uproar three of their females have kidnapped, a mated wolf, a mated human and the alphas daughter Kaija the pack princess and Omega and it would also appear that's she's Gates fated mate.
Not only does Gates have to rescue Kaija but he also has to keep her save which might be harder than he expected since they're not exactly sure who they're dealing with.
In a lot of ways I liked this more than the previous book 'Claiming His Fate' the story was better and it wasn't as rushed but several things annoyed me firstly Blaze is well respected and obviously intelligent so I have to wonder why he put an idiot like Magnus in charge, I'm sure he's got his reasons or at least I hope he has but I wanted to know what they were.
Also we're not given much information on exactly what an Omega is and what they can do it all seemed a little vague...why?
And talking of lack of information, again why are we given so little, every author puts their own spin on the wolf theme and that's what keeps it interesting but here we have no foundation, no idea of what's really going on, the relationship between the packs, the set-up, the dynamics anything. It wasn't such a problem in the previous book because that was mainly dealing with a rogue/nomad but once a pack becomes involved we needed more for this to work.
This is the second book I've read in this series and both if I'm being honest have just been ok so I won't be continuing on.

#2 in the series

Rebel from the previous story is on sabbatical with his new mate leaving Magnus in charge. Gates isn't too happy about it but he follows orders until Half-Trace calles with a job order from Blaze to help Alpha Wariksen of the Valkoisus pack.

Nothing like getting called to a town to help with limited knowledge. The kicker is when Gates "Gatekeeper" and the MC Feral Breeds go on a a rescue misson where Gates finds his mate only to almost loose her again to a group of rogues.

Kaija a rare white Omega is wanted by a rogue collector and the only thing stopping him is the Valkoisus pack and her new mate and his brothers of the Feral Breeds.

Plenty of action and new characters along with some revealing secrets. We get to meet some Cleaners, find out what really happened with Sandmans mate, some unique powers of the Omega and some ancient laws. You also get the sexual tension between Gates and Kaija. Can they hold out for their Rites of the Klunzad, a three day mating spree, or say hell with pack law and go at it like animals..they are wolves after all.

If you are looking for action a story with wolves, a motorcycle club and some hot lusty foreplay and wolf mating then this would be a series for you.

The author sent me an ARC copy of this for my honest review. Thank you I did enjoy it and would recommend it.

What a man

For a wolf of 400 years, Gates is one fine specimen. I love how the author made him stay his course even when his mate tempted him hard. We got to see so many new levels to the characters, I especially enjoyed the cleaners, and the glimpses into the past. I was so happy that in the end his omega made the right decision, his sacrifice would have been for nothing should circumstances cause the loss of their happiness. I am really enjoying this series and can’t wait to see who finds their mate next.

Another great shifter story. This one is between the 400 year old Gates and the Omega Princess Kaija. A more formal and elloquently romantic feel with a Very Healthy dose of erotic and graphic. Mixed in was a little danger to the pack. If you want a shifter story with some action and lots of sexy time this is the series for you.

Was hoping for so much more from book number two as the first in the series had me buying the second but again it was too short and left me wanting more details and background information. It felt like random history bits were thrown at you without much detail and made it a mess as the story unfolded. I was hoping for more of the MC side to shine through but other then arriving on bikes and leaving on bikes that was it, we didn't get much of the clubs structure or history, which was really disappointing and has such potential as the shifter MC club was the draw card for me.

Gates didn't have an Alpha feel to him at all for me, given that he was really old I expected more other then being told how tough he was, he seemed to put the care of his mate in his Breed brothers hands all the time but was meant to be some great protector. Such a shame.
The heroine was supposed to be a treasured Omega, but again no in-depth reason for Omega's being special, she used some magic to boost Gates strength and that was as special as we saw, it seemed she didn't even know much about why being an Omega was so treasured.

I felt this series had such potential but not to sure I'll continue to pay for the rest as the length and lack of detail stop me from wanting more, 3 stars is probably a bit generous but I guess because I've not read a similar shifter MC book it gets a point for being different.

A very weird read.
As far as typos/editing errors, I only found 2 improper uses of contractions.
There are numerous repetitive thoughts and confusing actions. Way too much talk and not enough action.

I am disappointed in this one and just wanted to get through it.
I was looking forward to this 2nd book in the series & thought I would be adding it to my must follow list. I don't think that is going to happen.

It has some good qualities. Both main characters, Gates & Kaija had a lot of potential to be great reads. There are some good moments & when there is action it is pretty good, just not exceptional. If all the overly talk about it had been replaced with real action and more done with the suspense it could have been fantastic.

Also there are inconsistencies with the 'courtship' between Kaija and Gates that make you want to go back and reread areas. You keep thinking you misread a previous section of the story. This happens enough times that you finally realize it is not you, but the writing itself.

I don't know if I will read any more of her books. This one is 3.99 on Amazon & I have to say it is Not Worth It.

Heather's Notes
I liked Kaija and Gates, and I liked their interactions, but there were some major problems with the plot. A lot of things were not explained at all, just thrown out there and left. Like how Kaija's power works or how she did whatever it was she did, since we not sure as it wasn't explained. What about the other Omegas, where did Trache (?? or whatever his name was) go. Also why did Gates suddenly decide to marry Kaija when 2 pages before he couldn't because of the danger. The danger that still exist. Why was nothing done with that jerk of a wolf that kept assaulting Kaija. Just too much undone for me to truly enjoy the book.

GateKeeper has been around for 400 years, he has given up on ever finding a loving mate as he was brought up to believe as a child in Spain. He has been the hardcore Sargeant-at-Arms of the Feral Breed MC for 200 years. They are members of the NALB the law keepers and helpers of all shifters in need and all that hear the name GateKeeper tremble, they know what he is capable of. After all, he has been around for 400 years!

The Feral Breed MC are called upon to see to the abduction of 3 women from the Valkoisus pack, originally from Finland. As soon as they ride into the packs territory Gate starts to feel a strangness in his chest. When they get to the designated area where the she wolves are being held captive, Gate goes wild with need as a lovely vision runs to him. They rescue the women but......

Can it be true that after 400 years the gods have gifted me with the most beautiful mate. Problem is that I can not claim her now till I put an end to the ones that want to take my beautiful Omega Kaija. It's a true test to keep my hands off her until then, more so when she tempts me at every turn for she wants me as much as I want her.

I loved this story, so much action, and passion.

Received free in exchange for an honest review. Actually, I received three of them: Claiming His Fate; Claiming His Need; Claiming His Witch. Do you sense a theme here? You should because all three are the same story, only the names and scenarios change.

I enjoy a good shapeshifter story with a fated mate element but these stories are terrible. Apparently, one is free to sexually objectify one's fated mate and never have to spend any time getting to know him or her because what does it matter. Fated mated can't split up. Apparently, also, being a fated mate means non-stop sex and once I reached that part, I stopped reading because, honestly, how many times can one read the exact same words over and over.?

Gates and his Princess...

It's been awhile since I've read a paranormal romance, especially a shifter one and I'm really glad this is the book that got me out of that rut. It was just what I was looking for without me even knowing it. Hoping it would last longer is a good sign that I want more of not only this story, but also this author's writing. There were a couple things I would change, but overall it was very enjoyable. The story can be read as a standalone which is great because I really wanted to know more about this couple. And I really liked how the POV changed between the two main characters so you get more out of the story. I think I'd like to read where the rest of this series goes as well.

Cool story.

Mixed of old world and new world. You get some of the old shifter traditions mixed in with new ones as the community grew and evolved. Gates(Luke) was over 400 years old and has yet to find his mate until called. To help a pack retrieve 3 females abducted. One being his mate. Who is also the alphas daughter. A princess omega. A prize. Who many want. This ensues the problem when a mysterious collector of omegas wants her. Loved watching the push and pull of their relationship until they completed the bond. He wanted to wait despite mild intimate moments. Almost like a marriage he wanted to make it special like in the old ways. Cool story. Wished that creep chinoo got his though. Hopefully in later books lol.

This story feels like a village love story. I appreciate the sole focus wasnt just of that. I felt like the romance in the book was intense until the end, where they were sopossed to consummate, which happened but was just so lame and felt like all this leading up to finally have it and the author made things awkward, I didn't feel the connecting I was feeling through the book. Also, Gates is supposed to be this bad ass but makes me feel at times that he's not so tough as he seems. He's just arrogant and ends up getting hurt a lot. Some of the horrible characters in the book felt like something bad was going to escalate or come about, but it never did.

I feel slightly satisfied with parts of the book but also a lot unsatisfied.

Soft and Sweet

What an unexpected love story...Love at first smell is very different from love at first sight...if you want to learn the difference then this is the book for you!

The connection to each one of these characters can be felt in each line you read in this story...this is an amazing series, a quick read that you just can't get enough of; you just have to find out who will find their fated mate next in the brotherhood and what danger will attempt to stand in their way because this brotherhood will not have anyone stop their fellow brothers for mating with their one true love...

An amazing story and a must read - Enjoy!

Loved that Gates gets his HEA but not without there being a few problems.
Gates is over 400 years old and that is very unusual for a wolf shifter to have not gone rogue due to having no mate.
When he goes to help a pack out he finds his mate in the alphas daughter.
I loved how old fashioned and proper he was in wanting to court Kaija and do things honourably.
Thought Kaija was a bit naive thinking Gates would be happy staying with her pack.
I really cried when Sandman told what had happened to his Margaret.
Another of those reasons I do not like this wolf shifter world.

Interesting but incomplete, and with a wussy heroine

The story is interesting, but there were too many names and hierarchies that were difficult to follow. The villain isn't really discovered, the mystic Omega power doesn't seem to do much and certainly didn't help the targeted omegas, and our princess actually needs to be defended by a baby at some point because she's sheltered, protected, and polite. Gates deserved better.

Also, the opening scene is needlessly crude and graphic.

Standalone. 1st person dual pov. Mild graphic violence, but alluded to repeatedly. Steamy.

Kaija and Gatekeeper AKA Gate

Great read. This story was filled with action, intrigue, betrayal and romance. Gate was the most ancient wolf heard off. He was 400 years old still waiting to find his mate but in the mean time he was part of the Feral Breed MC. They are members of the NALB the law keepers and helpers of all shifters in need. Even his club was called in to help the Valkoisus pack with the sudden kidnapping of three of their female members, Gate was not prepared to find his fated mate. Highly recommended

New author for me - good find

What a refreshing change to find a shifter story where there is no initial conflict between the two main characters. They accept their mate bonding on their first sight of each other, but cannot progress until the conflict in the plot is resolved. Their relationship is so sweet and comfortable with some well written intimate moments. It is the first book by Ellis Leigh I have read and it makes me want to read more.

I don't often go for the second book in a series when I get the first one free, because more often than not - the first book sucked.

I'm here to say, I was pleasantly surprised when it didn't. The second book, Claiming his Need, was just as good as the first. I even went ahead and about the third one because I am truly enjoying this series.

- Protecting his Omega -

If you like growling, rough and yet handsome wolf shifters who enjoy their motorcycle club brotherhood, then you`ll love Gate and Kaija`s story.
The beginning was - because of Magnus - a bit 'repulsive', but gradually the story developed better and better. The end was really good, so I would definitely read the other books.

Protecting what they love

Living and loving is for not the feral at heart. This story tells about such a couple. Who find themselves as fated mates, and what life throws at them to over come. Come read this and all the feral breed stories as they walk through life to find their fated mates and protect their way of life.

More like 4.5

It was an interesting story, and I didn't read book 1. I didn't feel like I missed out from not reading book one, I'm sure it would have added to the story. It was a little dark/intense for my taste. But it was an interesting world. Well thought out and a good dynamic of characters. I won't be continuing this series.

Gates is sent up north to help protect a pack that has had their Omega kidnapped. Little does he know that the Omega Kaija is his mate. He can not claim her because the threat of danger is still present. But when the danger is past he will claim her as his mate.

Ellis Leigh stories always a good read!

Wolf shifters on motorcycles taking on bad wolf shifters to protect their mates are a good read. On question I had through the Feral Breed Motorcycle Club series was why Ellis Leigh didn't find Sandman another mate.
