Have you ever dreamed of having all the money you could spend thrown at you overnight? That is what happened to Rue Calliwell. A complete stranger showed up on her front door step and said that his lawyer would be contacting her, but she had no idea why. Rue never dreamed that she would be a millionaire and actually denies the money at first. She has second thoughts when she hears how the money will be spent if she does not accept it. Rue is an innocent girl that just turned 21 and has not had any real life experiences because of a lack of money, but now the doors are wide open for her.

Rue comes to find out that this man that appeared on her door step in the beginning is actually her step brother, and she not only has one, but two. Jack and Sean Stone are well known for their good looks and money. Rue will now have to try to fit into their life style once she learns about being their step sister. These two step-brothers suddenly think that they have to be Rue's bodyguards and try to be over protective of her. Jack plays the spoiled brother that does not want Rue in the family while Sean plays the protector and bodyguard not wanting Rue to do anything that will hurt her in the long run.

My favorite character is Alec Gabriel who is a rock star and grew up with the Stone brothers. They all might as well be brothers as close as they are. Rue already had a crush on Alec but had no idea that the feelings were mutual. Alec tries to woo Rue and get together with her but Sean always gets in the way. I love the chemistry between Alec and Rue. You feel that you are right there with them when they are trying to profess their feelings for each other.

I love the way that Sabrina Lacey puts Rue into situations that anyone might go through after having this amount of money thrown at them. She has to learn on her own what having money means and that in the end sometimes it is not all about the money. Sabrina does an excellent job depicting this. These novellas kept me turning the pages on my Kindle as fast as I could and it was really easy reading. Thanks Sabrina for a great read and look forward to reading more of your stories!!

I was given a copy of these books for an honest review.

I was really interested in this book at the beginning and one chapter in was getting really into it and then something changed. I felt like i was reading a book about high school and petty teenagers. Rich, spoiled brothers Jack and Sean Stone have just found out they have a secret sister, Rue, who is the result of their father's affair with her mother, very strange name btw have never heard of anyone called this, where I'm from, Rue means regret and perhaps that was a hidden meaning that her mother regretted her affair and named her child Rue, which is a bit grim if that is the case....anyway, moving on. Jack seriously pissed me off, acting like a spoiled teenager trying to suss out Rue and prove she was a fake like seriously man up, he's supposed to be 25ish in this? Didn't believe his character at all. Sean who is more reserved, secretly gay and a Virgin and I actually liked this character, he seemed the realist of them all. I couldn't stand Rue half the time, she just wasn't believable as a person. She was 21, worked her ass off, was a committed dancer and supported her mother through cancer, yet as soon as she's handed 50 million she turns bratty and slutty?! I wasn't convinced at the end either, Jack suddenly realises he wants Rue as a sister and they all live happily ever after despite everything that's gone on, please!
There was never a time when the three of them asked questions about each other, got to know one another. They just went around in their private jet, drinking, shagging, and arguing. This book could have been so much more and I was really disappointed. Shame :(

*I received an A.R.C. in exchange for an honest review*

This book was amazing! A very unique storyline that I personally have not read before. Fun characters, very descriptive, and bits of mystery popping up all over leaving you wonder what's gonna happen next. Can't wait to see how this is gonna play out over the rest of the series.

What a great read . From a innocent young lass to a super rich bitch in the blink of an eye. Superb characters drive this story along and you can feel the underflow of nastiness and resentment . Couldn't leave it alone . Deg recommended as a sexy intriguing novel

This is a trilogy with each novella being just under 80 pages.

There are four main characters in the series with the heroine really being who the story is concentrated on.

At the age of 21, Rue Calliwell keeps getting dealt hardships many can’t imagine. As the daughter of a nanny, money was always tight. She never met her father because he died in the war and then her mom passed just a couple of years ago from cancer. Now all alone with only her best friend, she continues to pursue her dream of dancing but keeps a night job in a local grocer.

Sean and Jack Stone are millionaire socialites. The “it” boys have grown up with wealth but also in the media’s eye. They like to party and jet set to the hottest clubs and are seen with any number of beauties on their arms. Sean, the older of the two, is more subdued and a bit of gentleman mostly because he has his own secret to hide from the rest of the world. Jack, on the other hand, enjoys being ostentatious. He’s more of an acquired taste with an ego the size of Texas but the money and looks to back it up.

Alec Gabriel is best friends with Jack as he spent much of his childhood with the Stone boys while his unconventional parents fluttered about with disregard to raising their son. Alec has money in his own right as a successful rock star.

Rue is thrust into a world she’s only seen in the tabloids when she finds out she has inherited millions. Suddenly her surreal circumstances set her off on a new and very different reality. She has to deal with the fact that her mother lied to her about the identity and personality of her father for her whole life. Now with her mother deceased, she has to try to get as many answers as possible from attorneys and a family she didn’t know she had. She is completely naïve but not in an unlikeable or annoying way. She truly just finds herself in a whole new dynamic from top to bottom. She has to learn to navigate the public and the media as well as deal with the sudden ability to afford anything.

Sean seems to quickly take to the role of a big brother and is protective of her. He’s likes to guide her knowing how brutal life in the limelight is. Jack manages to fulfill that of a villain. He is jealous and doesn’t understand why their father would never mention this child much less give her $50 million. Fleetingly he devotes his energy into making life miserable for his new sister. To take things one step further, he talks Alec into wooing her with the end goal of breaking her heart. It’s like a twenty-something acting like a toddler throwing a fit.

Alec is something else. He seems like he’d act much in the same way as Jack but he doesn’t…maybe it’s the sensitive rocker in him. He had initially agreed with Jack’s plan but upon meeting Rue instantly felt an attraction to her. At some point it’s even admirable how he decides to remove himself from the situation, forgoing his wants for that of essentially what he views as family.

Overall this isn’t a romantic driven series and isn’t meant to be. It is young adults being put in abnormal, yet completely plausible situations and how they react. I think Rue is one of my favorite female protagonists, she has a genuine innocence and approaches nearly everything encounter with hope but still enjoys challenging matters along the way. It’s an endearing tale of loss, changing, and finding new.

Check out more of my reviews on my blog http://gemmareadstoomuchforittomenorm...

The Stand close series is a three part novella series; these are the first books I have read by this author. I was given these books in exchange for an honest review so here goes.....

I read the three novellas in one book so for me this was just one continuous story.

This story is about Rue who finds out that she has miraculously inherited $50 million and with it she also gets two super famous, super rich brothers.

I liked Rue, at times she is incredibly naive but she's also strong and really funny I love the love/hate relationship she has with her brother Jack.

Jack and Rue bicker and fight like cat and dog, they are bloody Hilarious you would think they are 10 not in their 20's lol.

Jack is the type of character that you love to hate, he's a rich brat which isn't exactly a redeeming quality but he is also enigmatic and I like him!

Sean is the eldest brother and is a bit of s sensitive soul and a real sweetie.

And now we come to Alec let’s just stop a minute to swoon!!! He's s sex God Rock star who will have you melting into a puddle.

The connection between him and Rue is electric and you can feel the sexual chemistry bouncing between them.

I did wonder if he was genuine or if he was just doing what Jack asked him to??
To be honest I still loved him and thought he was just adorable.

I could totally see Jack and Jenna get together they would make a fiery couple!!!

I did think this book could take a dip in a weird direction because at times there was almost chemistry between Jack and Rue. I did have a panic thinking oh god how can I write a review about incest lol!!!

Ok I’m not going to add a spoiler but I am going to say Jesus Sabrina Lacey I almost had a heart attack when everything happened I thought oh god this is it!!!

I really enjoyed this series, if you read each book separately then at times there would be some serious cliff-hangers but I loved how the three novellas blended together and I would recommend you read them as a complete anthology.

I enjoyed this book it had everything, romance, long lost siblings, shed loads of money and some edge of thee seat drama this series gets 4 stars from me!!

“Puke fiction”

If you are celebrity obsessed and enjoy reading about the beautiful people and the incredible empty lives they lead - then this is for you! Oh, for good measure there are plenty of sexual encounters, but then you knew that didn't you? Without a real job to get up for in the morning; apart from going shopping, flying off to go clubbing, driving miles to find a decent restaurant... what do you expect them to do with all that spare time? Be reasonable!
