Good Sci-Fi Series. Not Hotwife.

Wow. Mr Garland outdone himself on this one. He obviously put a lot of effort into crafting this story. I don’t know if the terminology was all made up or not but he made it very believable.

It’s a multi level story with a variety of characters and some intriguing twists and turns. And yes, a few sex scenes thrown in here and there.

However, it’s not really Hotwife or even erotica. But a really good sci fi tale. I recommend.

I’m blown away by this book/series - it’s FANTASTIC!

If you like futuristic SciFi at all, with some very racy scenes, I think you’ll love this book and this series.

Our main character Paul is a coding superstar and 25 yrs from now is writing software to improve the lives of people who have suffered trauma, suppressing those memories with just a little hardware chip implanted in the brainstem. But his corporate overseers have greater ambitions. They want to control and alter memories.

This series is the epic battle between the individuals than make up a team and the corporation.

Paul essentially lives three lives, and is close to getting a fourth which may not be so pretty. He finds the clues to his previous lives, and with some breadcrumbs from his those lives, starts to patch his full life together.

It’s a game of cat and mouse, with the tables being flipped more than once.

This is a series that you really need to read in order. The characters are complex and change through the story, and that’s what makes this series so fascinating.

There’s cheating affairs and one night stands, with hotwives and hotboyfriends. And numerous hot scenes with married couples. But it’s the story and the characters that makes these book so riveting. There’s human weakness and strength, shrinking and bravery, dumb moves and brilliant manoeuvres, and threats and supports from surprising quarters. It’s worthwhile to read thoughtfully.

I found some great insights in this book about remembering. Two are below:

“Memory is your trophy case, but it’s also a wound you learn to carry. Scars of your mistakes and certificates of your accomplishments together, occupying the same space. What matters is where you choose to go next.” And,

“… forgetting the past wasn’t the same as undoing it. I couldn’t change the past, or run from it. But I could still choose who I would become—here, now. The future was ours to decide.”

The series is about 350 well written and edited pages. I had a very tough time putting this series down so, like me, you may miss a lot of sleep.

5 Blazing Stars!

ps: there are two follow-on stories that apparently are tangential to this storyline - one published, one on its way. This storyline is complete. I’m going to take a little breather before tackling them.
