In Daringhood, pawns aren’t meant to survive the game. Especially when you’re the princess of The Daring Brotherhood.
Amirah never wanted to be part of her brother’s war. She has her own mission—saving women who’ve been taken from their families, refusing to let another girl vanish. But the moment she’s stolen from her home and locked inside an abandoned theme park, her fight isn’t for others anymore. It’s for herself.
Her captor? Bear. Brutal. Unhinged. Obsessed. He swears she belongs to him but in the darkness, obsession can look a lot like devotion.
Her jailer’s ally? Kai. This vengeful, haunted man sees her as a bargaining chip for redemption, even as every glance from her threatens to unravel his resolve. He’s torn between protecting his own and protecting her.
Then there’s Zion. He’s loyal to no one but his blood. Amirah is a liability—and now she knows his deepest secret. Yet when she puts herself at risk to save someone he loves, lines blur, and the pawn becomes a playing piece he just can’t ignore.
War between the Brotherhood and Daringhood is erupting, and Amirah is caught at its center.
She refuses to break. She refuses to kneel. But in a world where pawns are sacrificed first, every choice could be her last.
And in the end, even princesses bleed.
This is the first book in The Daring Sisterhood duet and part of The Daring Brotherhood interconnected series. Recommended to read Deadly Little Games and Deadly Little Hearts first but not a deal breaker.
She isn’t like anyone else I’ve ever met. There’s a fire beneath her eyes, waiting to explode. Begging to be released. She isn’t fit to be a princess of The Brotherhood, protected and hidden away in her castle. Fuck, no. Amirah Ledger is a queen, a leader. I can feel it. She has so much power just waiting to be pulled from within her, and I’m going to help her. Help her see that and step into her power. By testing her limits. By challenging her until she’s at breaking point, then watching as she rises from the ashes.
My last arc read of 2025 and of course I had to finish it with my fave girl Jenna Lee. Lucky for me she loves me so she gives me the books early as long as I give her a running commentary on how I'm feeling while I read it.
In this book we return for my fave place of daring hood but this time we go to the wrong side of the tracks. when bear loses his face toy Lucas he decides to kidnap the brotherhoods lil sister Amirah. but doesn't expect to fall for her or for her to be their fave
What follows is typical Jenna fashion your conflicted you don't know if you love the MMC or not or want to be committed because bear is seriously unhinged at times lol. then add in your twists and turns that make you say wtf and a slow burn that takes a jump into the fire in two unforgettable chapters and the end well let's just say I really wanna scream and through my kindle but it's new so I won't and I need the next book like now.

Holy cliffhanger!!!!! WAIT...let's back up...we have Amirah, the Daringhood princess who's trying to stop a trafficking ring, kidnapped by Bear and then held captive by Bear, Kai and Zion as a bargaining chip for money, guns and territory. But lines between captor/captive and lovers soon blur and despite trying to hold back, hearts are now on the line.
Amirah is feisty and not afraid to take charge and demand what she wanted. Bear is a truly lovable psychopath who is instantly and utterly obsessed. Kai is the broody, steady protector who wants to keep everyone safe. Zion is sweet, loyal, dependable and would do anything for those he loves.
You can truly feel all the emotions in this book. The angst, the anger, the give and pull, the mystery, the burgeoning love. Now..... HOLY CLIFFHANGER!!! That ending..OMG..I can but can't believe the twist and it truly leaves you questioning everything you thought you knew. I absolutely can NOT wait for the next book..I need to know what comes next, like NOW!!!
In Deadly Little Pawn, book 3 of The Daring Brotherhood series, Bear really ramped up his whacky tendencies and managed to ensnare (wink wink) a certain Princess of the ‘Ville.
I didn’t love the writing style as a whole, as there were parts that felt pretty disjointed and lacked cohesion for me. This is separate from how the characters were portrayed, because personalities absolutely can be communicated across pages. I thought it would be pretty cut and dry based off of how the first handful of chapters were, but at about the 70% mark I was shocked by how much was happening. In comparison, I felt like I was almost reading a different book than the first half. Especially with the ending! Prepare for a good ole cliffy. lol
I feel like it should be mentioned, the other love interests were more favorable for me than Bear because YUM. Hehe he just felt a bit “on the nose” for me. I loved the relationship between the guys though, it was hilarious.
Thank you to Jenna Daring for the gifted review copy!
Kidnapping, why choose, a rescue mission, and a girl tired of being unseen, unheard, and feeling like a pawn in everyone else’s game, and it’s fantastic! Amirah, the Daring Brotherhood princess, is a stellar FMC, she has fight, she has determination, and she will not stop until she’s taken control of her own life and saved every girl trapped in a trafficking/strip club nightmare. Absolutely cannot help but admire her as she goes up against everything she’s ever known, starts falling for her captors, the unhinged Bear, the enigmatic and deadly Kai, and Zion the man with a secret that she now knows, and starts fighting for what she believes. It’s bravery, it’s being torn in half between two very different worlds, and it’s taking a stand for herself even if it means going against her own brother, ending on a jaw dropping cliff hanger that leaves you dying for the next book.
Amazing, sucked in from the very first chapter. Captured by the enemy, you should hate them right? Right? But something feels right and safe with them. Amirah is from a whole different world, she is being help captive by Bear, Kai and Zion and they just might be the key to figuring out exactly why’s going on with the missing girls and women in Daringville.
Full of lies, betray and lust, Deadly Little Pawn will have you captivated from the very bringing, and raging when you get to the end!
Loved this so much, and cannot wait for Deadly Little Sisters!
Ladies and gentlemen, Jenna has done it again. I swear she needs to have the title of Queen of Cliffhangers!! I am GASPING! This book hands down, is my favourite of Jennas now. The depth, the darkness and complexity of characters. I am in love. I love Bear, he is so deep, psychotic and crazy! Zion to me to me a soft soul, and Kai is dark and broody! How could you possibly choose. Plus add the mystery, suspense and spice. Fantastic book. I CAN NOT wait till Deadly Little Sisters.
Amirahs story with her 'captures' was bloody brilliant. I was hooked from page one. Watching their relationship grow from enemies to lovers. But then you had to throw a spanner in the works with that ending, I don't know who to trust any more. I need time to process and also needed book 2 right now!
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I definitely have to remedy that. The cliffhanger at the end has me desperately waiting for the next book. I read this one from start to finish in one sitting. I almost always have a favorite character, but I honestly have to say that I can't decide on just one this time. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy as soon as you possibly can.
I have no words… just wow! 🤯 move aside Gage, Hazen and Lucas! These three men in Deadly little pawn are 🥵🥵 and I am ALLLL for it! That ending? 🤯 DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!
Jenna has done an amazing job again and seriously need the rest of this world yesterday!!!
