This book right here is why I try not to read anything that doesn't have a second book out...CAUSE IT'S SO GOD DAMN GOOD I NEED SEQUEL NOW!!

Not that it ends on a huge cliff hanger or anything, but the books just that good. Didn't know really what to expect as the plot synopsis only gave you a general outline of what's going on...

-------------------------------------

The empire has been destroyed.
An invading army moves north.
Old magic, long forgotten, begins to return.

Death lurks outside the walls of Azmark.
Ancient creatures stir in the Iron Mountains.
A slave's secret past threatens future peace.

Haven Keep may hold the solution to all.

-------------------------------------

Cool, sounds interesting. But WTF is Haven Keep? What's this Empire that was destroyed? Who's invading? AHHHHH!!!!

Then you start reading and are blown away. Von (the MC) is a bond slave, a trained blacksmith (almost a Master) and was bought by the Lord of Azmark as a child. It's been 8 years since then, and the Empire that once kept the land united is destroyed. With an invading army on the way, the various nations will have to band together or fall alone.

Great action and a solid flowing plot keep this one going and its not short either which is nice. A few of the characters made some odd decisions (I'm looking at you Anora) but hey, that's life in the World of Evenfelle.

I had some formatting issues on my Kindle with this, I think some pages were missing or something, but some parts would be cut off only to begin again later. I hope this gets fixed as I will for sure re read once I see it updated.

Solid first book in what I hope to be a good series, with book 2 coming soon..hopefully.

Convoluted

Needed a better editor to trim down the length. Very predictable story... The warrior, the cleric, the beserker, the traitors, the love interest..

The book description did not do justice to the book. It is a great fantasy story.

I am looking forward to book 2, hope it wont be too long. It has adventure and actions and mystery. Though the author is very good at decribing the life of Von and life in their world, but it is a little too details and drag a bit, but all in all i enjoy it very much.

Hope someone or the author can rewrite the sypnosis of this book to make it more interesting, wihtout letting spoiling the plots and mystery. And there is a dragon [maybe].

Better than the cover!

good book for a quick read... solid settings and world building. Look forward to future installments. Editing better than most only a few errors or misspellings that stop the flow....

Written by my brother-in-law, so yes, I may be a little biased. :) The storyline was very entertaining and pulled me right along. A FUN book and I can't wait to read his next!
