The Rites of Passage #4

Ink Deep Devotion

Rate this book
Not all love stories bloom in the light. Some thrive in darkness.

When I first met Mila, she fell for me as effortlessly as a jellyfish surrenders to the current. They don’t fight it.

They can’t.

I was a shark. I schooled Mila, taught her how to bend and flow instead of letting the tide drown her.

I wanted to toughen her up—make her strong enough to survive my world. But I knew I'd have to leave. When the time came, I shoved her away, thinking it would protect her. But the moment she hit the ground, I felt the impact, too.

I landed in hell and was dragged into a secret society that forged me into a weapon. But they didn't know I still felt and dreamed.

For years, Mila was my North Star, the memory that kept me breathing.

But when I finally found her, I realized the truth—stars aren’t what they seem. They’re remnants of anger and forgotten battles. By the time their light reaches you, they’ve already burned out.

Our love was dead. Mila moved on.

But our devotion to our desire? That was still alive—ravenous, relentless, bleeding over our paper-thin love like ink trying to rewrite the past.

Only this time, my little artist wasn’t a jellyfish. She didn’t fall into my current. She slipped free.

She ran from me.

The most deadly monsters don’t lurk in the shadows; they bask in the direct light. They lure you in with a friendly smile and an angelic glow. They force you to come to them. And Mila just walked straight into their trap.

*Ink Deep Devotion concludes Dash and Mila's story. Paper Thin Love needs to be read first; however, it is not necessary to read Ashes to Ashes or Dust to Dust before starting Paper Thin Love.

It only took me so long to read because I read 1926722192 books at one time. And because life is busy. It had nothing to do with the story or the writing.

This book took me on such a journey, emotionally ripping my heart out then slowly piecing it back together. Dash and Mila are one hot mess, but prove that love can truly conquer. Love is messy and love is worth the fight. This book was *chefs kiss* and truly gave Dash and Mila the ending they deserved. They are horrible, they are loving, they are perfect.

A.G Harris writes so beautifully and tells such brilliant stories. I cannot wait to read more <3

This was everything I could have hoped for to wrap up the series. It wasn’t what I thought it was going to be honestly. It surprised me, but in the best of ways. I really feel like as a reader I got to see all the sides of these characters and the journeys that they went through. A.G. Harris just has an incredible style of writing and it just draws you in and captivates.
I loved that we got Damians POV, ugh that just made my day. That boy had me obsessed whenever a chapter of his would come up.
Mila was such a force in this one and it made me giddy to see it. There were a few moments I was yelling at her BUT overall she was badass.
Dashy boy I yelled at a little more than anyone else. I got where he was coming from I really did but bro… come on now. 😂
This was an incredible ending to Mila and Dash’s story and I would definitely recommend, especially if you’ve read any of the others.

🌶️ Spicy Chapters 🌶️
Chapter 3 - This is…. Rough, and not in a fun way 🥴
Chapter 12 - Oh hello Dashy boy 👀 stalk much?
Chapter 27 - 💥💥 choo choo train
Chapter 31 - 🌶️ 📱
Chapter 32 - 🪢 Tied up
Chapter 33
Chapter 45
Chapter 68 - 🚿

I loved book one in this duet, and this one was great too. We find out what happened after Dash and Mila parted at the end of book one - the different paths they took for years, while still thinking of one another constantly.

Coming back together meant even more drama and plots, schemes and betrayal, and though it felt like they'd never get there, they eventually get their version of a HEA.

The only thing that bothered me was the time jumps. I do understand why, but it just felt like there was a lot of them.

Now - there were many other characters doing things off page, and by the glimpses of their lives at different stages with the time jumps, I so want to know the rest of their stories! I can't wait to read them!

Sooo many twists and turns throughout this book with a little bit of added cat and mouse 😏.

The love these two share is poisonous to the very core, damaged and broken but with the slightest of thread holding them together. It definitely takes you on a rollercoaster of raw emotions and leaves no stone unturned as the tangled web is unraveled.

The ending ties any loose bits together perfectly and there are many directions the other characters in the series could go and I'm here for it.

Amazing! Thank you so much for the ARC

Ink Deep Devotion doesn’t so much conclude a love story as detonate it - sorrow, obsession, tenderness, trauma, and all. And I loved every scarred, ink-streaked second of it.

Dash and Mila’s connection is still searing, still feral, but now it’s layered with years of pain and transformation. I ached for them, feared for them, wanted to scream at them, and then hold them close. Mila, especially, is a force in this book. She's razor-sharp, resilient, and heartbreakingly human.

The prose is raw, flowing poetry; vicious and vulnerable all at once. Harris writes like someone who's seen the dark and decided to paint it gold. The secret society subplot adds just enough grit and danger to sharpen the emotional stakes without overwhelming the beating heart of the story: two people who can’t stop choosing each other, even when they absolutely shouldn’t.

This is one of those finales that lingers. Not because it ties everything up with a neat bow, but because it honours the mess, the yearning, the ink-stained truth of what it means to love and survive. It's a brutal, breathtaking conclusion inked in longing and survival.

I honestly can’t think of another author that writes as beautifully as A.G. Harris does, within the first few chapters I’d already made 19 highlights. A.G. Harris writes so descriptively and vividly that you are completely immersed in the story unfolding on the page and this enhances the story so much that you are completely gripped and invested.

I absolutely loved Dash and Mila’s story. I really enjoyed having Damien’s pov, and love how much of a bada£$$ Nova is! I love the depth of the side characters and how they become protective of Mila too. Anders and his axe made me laugh out loud.

This is a must read for all fans of:
🩷Billionaire romance
🖤Arranged marriage trope
🩷Secret society
🖤Enemies to lovers
🩷Forced proximity
🖤Dark romance

What an amazing series this has been, I cannot wait to see what A.G. Harris writes next.

Loved this book, couldn’t wait to continue Dash’s and Mila’s story. After the cliffhanger in Paper thin love I was intrigued how the story continues. We move forward on time and get to know how both have moved on after the cleansing. Dash endures hardship whilst Mila moves into the world of art. I love all the King men and Mila’s new friend Nova who is a firecracker! We get to know a bit more about Titan and Damien too. I was wondering throughout the book if those two will finally find their way back to each other and I was not disappointed by the ending.

This is the fourth book in the Rites of Passage series. It’s an enemies to lovers, arranged marriage, dark romance. Dash and Mila’s story was fantastic. It’s emotionally intense and beautifully written. An amazing ending to an equally amazing series

This was the absolute best ending and tying of lose ends to the first book ❤️ I absolutely loved every broken aspect of Mila and Dash. Their love story is so beautifully broken, tortured, vindictive, hateful, yet delicate, and sorrowful. I enjoyed experiencing their journey to their version of happiness and happily ever after.

This series will be the death of me. I'm obsessed with Dash and Mila. I'm pretty heartbroken that their saga is over! I loved the snippets throughout this book of Damian's story. There's something about that man that just does it for me and we barely know him! I'm very excited to see where AG takes him!
Mila and Dash have a love that is so raw and passionate, almost to the point of toxicity. This book brings out so much more emotional turmoil between these two. It's real, it's gutwrenching, and I'm so here for it. I adore them!
Thank you, AG, for the honor once again of beta reading this! Can't wait for the next book in the Rites of Passage series!
