I met this author at a market in my neighborhood, and I just think it’s so cool that she’s put herself out there by publishing such a vulnerable, soulful piece of work. It takes guts to do something like that! She’s very talented, and it’s clear she writes music, as a lot of these poems read lyrically.
My favorite excerpt from the collection:
“This little city is full of color
Golden houses side by side
Smoke penetrates the air
Take it all in if you dare
Lucid dreams blur at the seams
This is what life means
Let’s make this last
Tomorrow it’ll be past
We can whisk away time
With an autumn mind
Tonight, we aim for stars
Tonight,
Tonight is ours.”
