One Week in Love #1

One Week in Wyoming

Rate this book
Four couples, seven hot winter nights...
When best-selling romance author Joan Halliday invites four single female writers to stay at her family's luxurious Wyoming lodge, she's counting on a quiet week of bonding on the slopes and in the spa.

Bruce Halliday was looking forward to a relaxing reunion with his college buddies in the wilds of Wyoming…but when his wife's group meets Bruce's unattached friends, the sparks start to fly.

Four stories by Alexis Anne, Audra North, Julia Kelly, and Alexandra Haughton heat up the page in one sexy anthology.

Undressing Cara by Alexis Anne
Eli Pierce is Seattle’s most eligible bachelor. He’s sexy, rich, arrogant…and completely wrong for Cara Sinclair—not that it stopped her from using him as the inspiration for her latest best-selling novel. In fiction, she stripped away everything she didn’t like about Eli, and replaced it with the makings of a true romantic hero.

There’s only one problem: Cara has no idea she’s about to spend a week with the real Eli Pierce at her friend’s Wyoming lodge—and in a unexpected twist, Eli’s had a crush on Cara all this time. What happens when Cara learns that Eli is a lot more like her fictional hero than the man in the tabloids? Can a week in the snow turn two long-distance crushes into true love? There’s One Week in Wyoming to find out!

Off-Piste by Audra North
Leah Christos is about to give up on her dream of becoming a writer because she’s afraid of taking chances. Quitting her job to write full time is simply too risky. Jasper Brandt is looking for excitement to liven up his dull life. He’s the last person that safe-loving Leah should be hooking up with. But when they get together at their friends’ Wyoming lodge, they might end up taking the greatest chance of all…

Seduction in the Snow by Julia Kelly
Lydia Reed’s had her heart stomped on one too many times, so when the gorgeous, glasses-wearing Evan Sullivan winds up at the same Wyoming lodge as her she sees the chance for the a short, hot fling with a definite end date. There’s only one problem: Evan. He might have agreed to their just-for-fun romance, but just a few days with her and he wants more. Now he must convince the headstrong writer that falling for him is worth the risk.

Love is Here to Stay by Alexandra Haughton
Romance writer Callie Emerson can’t resist a good story or a good secret, so when she finds herself more interested in unlocking a surly rancher’s secrets than in making her deadline, she knows she’s in big trouble. Win Carter is too busy resuscitating his family’s legacy to invest time in a relationship, especially one with his sister’s spoiled society friend. And though she has her head in the clouds while his feet are rooted firmly in the ground, maybe one week in Wyoming is all it will take to start writing their own happily ever after.

Fast. Volatile. Gorgeous.

“My very first Alexis Anne book and now I'm wondering what I've been waiting for. It was a real page turner!! Gripping, edgy and very exciting.” --Tish Cocktails and Fairytales

"One Week in Wyoming" is a multi-author book and the first I've read, and I have to see I was a bit skeptical about how it would play out. I needn't have worried because the ladies brought this story of 4 couples and what occurs in seven days to us in an incredible way. Each couple had a few chapters to tell the story of how they met and worked through the differences in just a weeks time. The ending of the book tied everything up in a nice enough ending that actually left me wanting more of characters stories! The growth of the relationships wasn't always an easy journey but it certainly was a steamy one!

I highly recommend this book!

This was the first time I'd read a romance in the multiple-author, novella format, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Each author's voice was distinct and delightful, and each character's arc was fully realized, fun, and absorbing. Of course, the fact that all the main female characters are romance writers probably didn't hurt ;) By the end, I was daydreaming about taking my own trip to the lodge!

3 Stars for Love Is Here to Stay (the last novella within this collection of short stories)

Let me start off by saying that the author's writing style was fluid and nice. There heroine was a very snarky character - which I don't mind at all - and made me smile at times. The hero was dark and brooding but carried a pretty big chip on his shoulder. And if this wasn't a novella, then maybe I could have bought into their attraction / love story better over time. Antagonistic relationships between a H/h are really hard to pull off. Unfortunately, I just wasn't connecting with these two characters emotionally and that's what I look for in a solid romance novel.

Guess the story just wasn't for me, but I'm going to give it three stars for really good writing style and several good giggles.

This book was delightful! I've never read a multi-author romance before, and was unsure of how well it would flow, but I really enjoyed the intersecting character story lines and the mix of writing styles. I was pulled in immediately, and enjoyed it very much throughout. Highly recommend!

I guess romance isn't much to my taste, and the 4 different authors resulted in inevitable comparisons between the quality of each section. However, the sex was usually hot, and the way all of the characters fit together was diverting. Poor Patrick.

A really fun contemporary romantic must read! Each story was great keeping the same characters and settings, but with stories that were a little bit different for each character. I'm happy I won this book and to have found some great new authors!

Fun

These are some of the best short romance stories. My fave were the first and the last, but they are all good. You will not be sorry and you may be looking into vacationing at a ski lodge, even if you don't ski !

Like all multi-author anthologies, this was uneven. Like all novellas, there wasn't enough character development. Within those restrictions, though, this was a fun read on a rainy afternoon.

I love Wyoming!

One week in Wyoming was a cute story of love lost on the vast plains. It was not like the Wyoming I know and love, but was a fun fast-paced read
