He’s the town’s golden boy. I’m the outsider with something to prove. And now we’re both running for mayor of our small-town.

Cash Marshall never saw himself settling down. Charming, laid-back, and wildly popular in his small town of Whitewood Creek, he’s content spending his days wrangling chickens on his family’s farm and his nights with a cold drink and a pretty face. Politics? Not his thing—until a fiery newcomer threatens everything he loves about his hometown.

Rae Black didn’t plan to stay in Whitewood Creek for long, let alone run for mayor. But after losing the career that defined her, this tiny North Carolina town is her last shot at starting over. She’s got a plan, a platform, and zero patience for the man standing in her way. Especially when that man is annoyingly attractive, ridiculously charming, and determined to turn every town fair meeting into a flirt-fueled distraction.

Rae:
I never planned on moving to Whitewood Creek, North Carolina permanently—let alone run for mayor of this tiny town where everyone knows everyone and newcomers stick out like a sore thumb. But here I am, standing on a makeshift stage in front of a sea of curious, skeptical faces, my competition grinning beside me like he’s already won.

They call him Mr. Whitewood Creek. The golden boy. Born and bred in this town with a family of five siblings. He’s practically royalty around here—a man who loves his people, his family’s farm, and even the damn chickens that he raises. And while I’m supposed to be focused on proving I belong here, I can’t stop thinking about how infuriatingly good he looks in that perfectly worn T-shirt with the strategically placed rips, and how his easy charm seems specifically designed to make me come undone.

Maybe I’m crazy for thinking I have a shot at winning this race. Or maybe it’s not the election I need to worry about—it’s surviving this campaign without falling for the man who’s made it his mission to see me crumble in his hands.

This is book 3 in the Whitewood Creek Farm series and can be read as a true standalone.

Title: Fairground by Sophia Jade
Rating: 5/5

It's autumn in Whitewood Creek—season of change, and second chances.

Rae thinks the town is a complete bore, a far cry from the fast-paced marketing life she left behind in Charlotte. She's hides behind black clothing and grumpy features — she's more Grinch than girl next door.

Then there’s Cash—Whitewood Creek’s golden boy. Charming, cheerful, and completely unbothered, he’s the kind of guy who makes friends with everyone, even stray dogs and grumpy rivals.

When Rae and Cash face off in a small-town race for mayor, the sparks fly. Their rivalry turns into something steamier than either of them expected, and maybe, just maybe, a little real.

Sophia Jade delivers a witty, enemies-to-lovers romance with sharp banter, emotional depth, and some truly satisfying heat. Fairground is a roller coaster of longing, ambition, and small-town charm—with just the right amount of emotional grit and a generous shot of whiskey.

Jump aboard. Fairground is a wild ride—and Rae and Cash will ruin you in the best way.

You probably think this is one of those stories where the male character is grumpy and here comes the girl that brings sunshine in his life. And that would be your mistake.
Cash is Mr. Whitewood Creek who is always smiling and everyone likes him. He is not only handsome and hardworking but simply a nice guy. Although he is know for his bachelor status, he is well liked at Whitewood Creek.
Losing her job recently and moving from Charlotte to Whitewood Creek to help out her sister, Rae is the grump in the story. She cannot wait to get out of the small town and go back to the big city when she could get a decent coffee. But while she is stuck here, Rae decides to run for mayor. What a surprise where her opponent is not other than Mr. Whitewood Creek!
The chemistry between Cash and Rae is off the charts. I love a guy who is not afraid to show his sensitive side.
Awesome story! Sofia Jade did it again!!!

I loved this book. The story is easy to read, and it captivates your interest from the beginning.

Everyone heard the saying... Opposites attract.... This is the case as Cash and Ray are two opposite people. One would think it's the man who would be the grump but what a twist when you start to read the book and it's the girl.

Cash Marshall is charming, laid-back, and popular and doesn't care to show people his soft side. Rae Black is the grump and only want to go back to the city to get a decent coffee. There is chemistry between the two from the start. I got the vibe that Ray has a real love hate relationship towards Cash.

Their banter had me laughing.

Well done Jade! This is really a great book....

Seasons are changing in Whitewood Creek as theyre changing for Rea. Recently let go from her campain job, she finds her self in the small town of Whitewood Creek North Carolina a small cry from the hustle and bustle of Charollete. Grumpy and annoyed at the small little town she’s determined to make the best of it! That leads her to running for town mayor when she had no plans to stay!

Cash freaking Marshall, A RAY OF LITERALLY SUNSHINE!!! Whitewood Creeks golden boy, known and loved by everyone in town. And hes HOT He gets a wild hair up his butt to run for mayor as a big F U to the old corrupt mayor who kept his younger brother in jail longer than necessary!

What he doesnt expect is the grumpy newcomer to also be running for mayor. They face off in the small town mayor race where things heat up and i mean STEAMING🥵 After their first encounter Cash knew something was different about Rea. Hes so sure, confident, goes after what he wants and looks damn good doing it! ( HELLO NEW BOOK BOYFRIEND). Rea was adamant thats she wasnt going fall for the golden boy of the town but boy was she wrong!

Their banter had me giggling like school girl, watching their relationship bloom was wholesome and raw. I resonated with rea alot specifically about how she watches what she eats because of her parents being so citical growing up. That kinda trauma takes a toll especially as you get older. And Dont get me started on the cherry pie filling🥵 ( IYKYK). Im not sure why but spice in small town romances always surprise me because its STEAMY ASF🤣

Im never disappointed when i finish a read from sofia! Glad we got to see some orher character from book 1 & 2! Ready for book 4 already!

This was so perfect — even the title of the book! I couldn’t help but fall in love with Cash and Rae’s relationship. From the beginning, their banter was sexy and full of tension. Rae’s headstrong independent personality was a wake up call for Cash who’s used to getting any woman he wants. She’s the whole package but fights her feelings for Cash because of his relationship history.

Cash - good lord is his mouth filthy! There was many times throughout this book that even I was blushing. Cash Marshall is the embodiment of a man - confident, strong, and willing to fight for what he wants. He doesn’t give up on Rae despite her reluctance. The connection between the two of them was so intense and insanely hot. Not only were they intense, Cash is an amazing support system and extremely wrapped around Rae’s finger.

Absolutely perfect!

Rae moved to Whitewood Creek to start over, but she wasn’t planning on staying. What she is planning to do is run for mayor of the small town and win.

Cash has lived in Whitewood Creek his whole life and he is not very happy of Rae coming to town and trying to change everything about their small town.

During the mayoral race Rae and Cash start to get to know each other and soon the chemistry blossoms between the two of them.

I really liked reading Fairground and I feel that Sofia did a great job at this enemies-to-lovers book. There was amazing banter and an amazing love story.

She never expected to be in the town but her life meant just that. She will end up running for mayor against him, the golden boy of town. Life is going to get very interesting and she needs to make sure she will not fall for him
