Lola is a book lover with a *slight* romance obsession and a passion for love. Especially love between sassy women and huge, growly magical men ;)
When she's not reading or writing up a storm, she's hanging out with her husband and three kids, or baking something sugary that she *probably* shouldn't eat (but will).
A guide to her books can be found on her website. All of her series can be read entirely on their own, so there's no necessary reading order.
PLOT: Brynnlee and Bash meet and become roommates... but they're mates, too. How can they make it work?
THOUGHTS: Meh. It was okay. The chemistry wasn't there and the pacing was so slow for me. Lola's books are slowly turning into one big, same book. I hate that for her!

🧁 The Heroine: Brynlee “Brynn”
Brynn is the human youngest sibling in a family of dragon shifter royalty, which means her life has never been her own. Her brothers adore her, but their version of love looks a lot like lockdown. For the past year, her oldest brother August has been glued to her side to keep her safe. When duty calls him back to the supernatural prison they run, he needs someone he trusts to keep Brynn out of trouble.
That someone is Sebastian Villin.
Brynn is dropped at his house with no warning, no choice, and no freedom. She is furious, restless, and determined to find a way out. Her only plan is to help Sebastian find his supposed potential mate so she can get her life back.
🔥 The Hero: Sebastian “Bash” Villin
Sebastian is a demon with a history of protection work and a reputation for being cold, silent, and impossible to read. Brynn has always believed he disliked her. He never looks at her, never speaks to her, and never acknowledges her unless absolutely necessary.
So when he agrees to take her in, she is stunned. When his mother asks for Brynn’s help in locating his potential mate, she is even more stunned. Helping him find someone else feels like the only path to freedom, so she throws herself into the task.
What she does not expect is the truth. She is the potential mate. And Sebastian has known it from the moment she walked into his life.
💗 Relationship Dynamics
This story thrives on tension that simmers beneath every interaction.
• Brynn wants independence. • Bash wants distance. • Fate wants neither of them to get what they think they want.
Watching Brynn push against every wall in her life while Bash tries to keep his own walls intact creates a slow, intimate unraveling. Their chemistry is built on stolen glances, quiet moments, and the gradual realization that the person you thought disliked you might actually be the one who sees you most clearly.
The added layer of their families being intertwined through friendships and mating bonds gives the story warmth and community. Brynn’s best friends are mated to Bash’s brothers, which means she is surrounded by people who want her happiness even when she cannot see it for herself.
🌍 Worldbuilding
The supernatural world continues to expand in ways that feel fun, accessible, and emotionally grounded.
• Dragon royalty • Demon culture • Supernatural politics • The coffee and candy shop empire the three friends built together
All of it blends into a setting that feels lived in and full of heart.
🎙 Narration
Kit Swann and Jack Calihan deliver a performance that elevates the story.
• Kit Swann captures Brynn’s humor, frustration, and vulnerability with a voice that feels warm and expressive. • Jack Calihan gives Bash a deep, steady presence that fits his guarded nature without ever feeling flat.
Their dual narration adds emotional clarity and makes the slow shift from tension to connection feel natural.
💭 Final Thoughts
This audiobook is a charming mix of forced proximity, reluctant vulnerability, and supernatural family chaos. Brynn and Bash’s journey is sweet, slow, and full of emotional payoff. The story balances humor, longing, and character growth in a way that keeps you invested from start to finish.
If you enjoy protective heroes, stubborn heroines, supernatural families, and romances built on quiet intensity, this installment delivers exactly what you want.
Tavsiye etmem.Kapakları için başlamıştım bende.
Absolute garbage. I couldn't even read the epilogue. It's like the author gave up even trying to give these books a semblance of a plot. I hated Brynn and Bash with every fiber of my being and their every interaction literally made my skin crawl. The repetitive nicknames 🤢 Brynn's obsession with her own thong 🤮 not a personality to be found between them. Firmly wiping this one from my memory.
1 ⭐️ for the blessing that was the short length of this book. Any longer and I would've ended before the book did 💀
Rating: 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟's -》Review《- This is the LAST book in the series Deceit and Devotion and FINALLY includes Brynn's (and Sebastian's) story!! This is the book I've been waiting for, and the whole reason I had to buy this series! Brynn is the sister of the dragons in Lola's Mate Mountain series, and through out those books you get to see Brynn with her mate Sebastian, I've been dying for their backstory!! This was probably my favorite book in this series and I personally loved the plot✨️ and banter moreso than the other two. Do I move onto her last three book series?? Odds are high that I'm ordering them now
Overall, I enjoyed this book compared to the rest of the series, but it did drag for me in the second half. It was a good palate cleanser for me though, so the book did its job.
Okay I have now read all 9 books in this universe and I can clearly say there is a formula and these appear to be easy to churn out due to that.
The men all drive hummers, are big tall muscular overprotective and fight the mate bond. They also buy red roses and only red roses. Oh and they’re all rich and some immortal age but no one knows what that age is.
Everyone (men and women) use the word “channel” for vagina, they unclip bras, and they “dive into the long version” of a story.
Every single couple fights the bond in some way, but both are obsessed and in lust with each other so they obviously fail and cave. For some of them, they literally couldn’t survive without them but everyone is stubborn anyway.
We get about 15 “a few days later” “a few weeks later” “the weeks past in our new routine” per book.
So while yeah, I didn’t hate them enough to NOT read them all… if I hadn’t been multitasking during every book, I would have picked them apart so much more.
If telling over showing, no character development to tell literally anyone apart, and shallow mate bond insta love don’t bother you, these may be way more than 2/3 stars to you! But those are some of my biggest pet peeves in books when I want to enjoy them vs just distract myself.
A book doesn’t need to be 5 stars to enjoy it, but I didn’t really enjoy these. I just consumed them for the sake of it. But hey, they are really easy to read and digest and I just read 9 books by this author in less than a week so props to her!
I didn't want to control her. I wanted to taste every inch of her body. To drink from her until I was lost entirely. To fill her. To make sure she'd never want anyone else but me.
5 stars!
This was such a fantastic conclusion to what has been a brilliant and steamy series by Lola Glass! I've been so excited to finally get Brynn and Bash's story since the beginning, and holy hell they did not disappoint. I just loved Brynn as a heroine. She was strong and unafraid to go after what she wanted, and I loved watching her tenacity go up against Bash's controlling nature. Even though Bash made plenty of mistakes, I loved how he was always willing to change his path and learn from those mistakes. Their journey to a happy mate-bond was tumultuous and so steamy, and I loved watching Sebastian go from uncaring to an obsessive mate. This is my favorite Lola series so far, and I can't wait to see what she writes next🖤
Tropes: fated mates, grumpy/sunshine, brooding/reluctant hero, sassy heroine, hate-to-love-you, roommates-to-lovers, forced proximity, monster romance, 'touch her and die' vibes, she falls first/he falls harder, girl gang, slow burn, STEAMY🔥
Ok, this was my favorite so far. It is the same as the others, but I loved the twist that she is trying to seduce him. Their communication was different and endearing. I guess I have had enough of these for now.
Haha, this was my favorite in this series. Lola did the dang thing with this book for real. I laughed the entire time and I’m happy I had this read during this very long day
I was so excited to jump into the third book in this series because it’s one of my favorite worlds from Lola Glass! Sebastian and Brynn are my favorite couple of the three, and I absolutely loved getting their story.
Brynn has always known what she wants, and I love that about her. She knows herself and what she’s looking for, and there’s something so refreshing about that. Sebastian is stubborn and stoic on the outside, but an absolute softy on the inside, which hits me right in all the feels. Their dynamic is just so good!
And the spice? HOLY MOLY. 🥵 It is GOOD, and there’s plenty of it! The slow build and tension are immaculate, making the payoff that much sweeter.
Lola Glass does a wonderful job creating intriguing, fun characters, and when you pair that with her exemplary worldbuilding, you get entertaining, romantic reads that are easy to get lost in without ever feeling too heavy.
I fully intend to read many more of Lola Glass’s books. She’s becoming one of those authors I know I’ll return to when I want to revisit favorite characters or need a fun, spicy read as a bit of a palate cleanser.
Me explico.
Here I thought the first book would get the best rating, but my god I loved this book! Lots of spoilers because I just loved this book.
Likes: - This quote: The kiss grew deeper, it wasn’t rough. It wasn’t brutal. It felt like coming home. // COME ON 🥵 - The author’s writing style in this book was a bit different but in a really good way. - A true curvy girl. They describe her as curvy and tall, but there’s plenty of authors that say curvy and then there’s really nothing else ever mentioned in the book. This is the opposite. From Bash’s obsession with grabbing her ass and thighs to the sex scene where he specifically wants her to turn around so he can see her ass bounce, it continuously reiterates that she’s curvy in a positive manner vs. acting like she’s curvy for the sake of being “different” or only bringing it up in self-conscious ways. - Brynn nicknaming him vs the other books the guy nicknames the girl. - Brynn is an icon. The level of “no fucks given” that she has when dealing with Bash just made this book sooooooo enjoyable and entertaining to read. - The power dynamic. Bash is firm at times, but this man is metaphorically on his knees for this woman. The man constantly in control finally met his match, and she does and says what she wants and bosses him around constantly and it was SO hot. - Their sex scene while having to keep quiet at family Thanksgiving 🔥 - Showing a vulnerable/hurt guy for once. Most authors will use this as a trope for girls being hurt, but rarely will an author have the male character be the one that got hurt emotionally in the past in a relationship. It was so refreshing to see. - I loved him repeatedly trying to seal the mate bond and her just ignoring or rejecting it repeatedly. It made it so much more impactful when she agreed to it. Also, the way she sealed it.
Dislikes (no deductions because they’re just commonalities repeated in the series): - The fucking red roses…can we PLEASE just pick another flower? But I did like the wash Bash used them. - Towed. Towed. Towed. You’ll get it when you read the series.
