The Streets Can Only Have One King 2

Rate this book
The crown for the streets of Dallas is now within Truth’s reach, but claiming it means making a major move that could cost him everything, including his empire and the people he loves most. As he fights to stay on top and uncover what happened to AD, he’s forced to confront enemies who are closer than he ever expected.

Truth and Adoria are finally together, but peace doesn’t come easily. With her brother still missing and secrets she hoped to leave buried rising to the surface, their relationship is put to the test. Adoria has always stood on her own, but now she’s fully committed to a man at war with the streets. As the danger grows, she must decide whether loving Truth is enough to keep them safe or if it will destroy them both.

Reuniting with Sehvyn was supposed to be Noah’s second chance at love, but her abusive husband, the lead detective on a case that could send him away for life, won’t let her go easily. When secrets from Sehvyn’s past resurface, she’s caught in the crossfire, forcing Noah to risk everything to protect her and the family he never saw coming.

With old enemies not letting up and new betrayals unfolding, Truth and Noah must decide how far they’ll go to protect their empire, and the women who hold their hearts.

I read part one approximately two weeks ago and I had forgotten just how many POVs were in this story. I do not recommend there being an extended period of time in between reading one and two. Especially if you are someone who reads a significant amount of books.

I was entertained throughout the story but the characters (to be fully functioning, job holding, bill paying adults) really tap-danced on my last nerve throughout this story. They made some of the most obviously dumb decisions. Especially Adoria! I wanted to pluck her in her forehead and possibly knock some sense into her.

She literally had a conversation with her man about needing to be more open and honest and LITERALLY a handful of sentences later what does she do? Keep something important from her man and lie to him. With my whole chest I hope that he leaves her. Unfortunately, I won't know unless one of my book besties decides to read the third book.

This is another one of those times when I have realized that I have reached my stop on a series and will be bowing out gracefully. This isn't to discourage anyone else from continuing the series. If you like mess, drama, and ridiculous decisions that fuel the mess...you will likely love this!

Emotional!!!

Whew, it took me a few hours to get myself together enough to write a review. I’m heartbroken 💔 , I’m mad as hell with Adoria and at this point she needs her tail beat! I’m in my feelings for Truth and Noah because they are solid dudes who keep getting faced with multiple situations and nobody has their back but each other! This one had all the twists and turns that make up a good Khemistri J book but I wasn’t ready for the emotional journey! The multiple angles are wild and I can’t wait to see how all these dots connect in the final book.

Good read

Whew! So much take place in this story. Truth and Adoria are so cute. I love the love they have for each other. Noah and Sevyn's relationship, even though it's rocky right now is beautiful. The chemistry is there she just has to heal. Can't to read more!
