In the French Quarter of New Orleans, Riley and her best friend Jayleen, ply their trade in the sex industry. But when the innocent can't move on and someone takes drastic measures, it's up to Riley to put things right, but at what cost? Will she become one with the darkness to get revenge for the broken? Taste the spirit of New Orleans with a sprinkling of danger, a dash of friendship, a shot of Voodoo incantations, and a whole lot of death. Laissez les bons temps rouler!!
Writing this book taught me a lot about myself and helped me work through a lot of trauma. A lot of the scenarios in this book are based on real things that happened to me during my time as a working girl. It's underlying message is about finding inner strength to overcome the stress of everyday life and being able to deal with life's hurdles and never give up. Jayleen was such a strong bad ass character to write and honestly she guided me. She is the best friend every girl deserves, someone who will always have your back, no matter what.
Phew, this book had me in a chokehold for a few days. Loved the spice, the strong female characters and the revenge was super satisfying!! 🔥 It’s a tragic, but empowering story and it checked every box for being a perfect book for me. ✅
The New Orleans vibes combined with the voodoo and the horrible events made the whole atmosphere of the book feel dark and oppressive and it grabbed me immediately. 🖤 Respect for Erica’s writing skills, this was an amazing story!! 🔥Oh and I was so happy when I found out there will be a sequel!! 🥳🥰 Super excited for it and her other books! 🤩
Riley and Jayleen are young, high school best friends. Riley has a high school sweetheart, while Jayleen loves to sleep around. When she sleeps with her teacher, things are fun until they aren't. Her teacher becomes obsessed with Jayleen, but she's over it and she's moved on to the next guy. When he gets caught and their secret is out, Jayleen decides to leave town to New Orleans. Riley, being her best friend, decides to go with her.
In New Orleans, they both become prostitutes to make money, but Riley hates this life. She wishes she could find a normal job, but this gig pays well. One night, Jayleen books a job with a wealthy man, and they both end up going. Little does Riley know that this will be her final night on earth. But is it really?
I really loved this books setting. All the Voodoo talk sucked me right in! You really feel for these girls. They are very young and are just trying to get by. Jayleen is the wild one, but your heart breaks for her, too. Some of the sex scenes were delicious, while others were heartbreaking. I enjoyed the paranormal aspect to it also. I love Hart's work and look forward to the next book!
Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC. This was an interesting read. I really liked the supernatural aspect to it and that’s what ultimately kept my interest. The gore was an added plus. Not to mention REVENGE. I enjoy a good revenge story.
Killer Voodoo Hooker follows two best friends, Riley and Jayleen. After Jayleen’s lust finds her in a bad situation the two friends head to New Orleans where they both become prostitutes. The money is good but the job is awful. Riley especially hates this lifestyle and desperately wants out. One night everything changes for the girls after they book a job with a rich man.
Riley and Jayleen are childhood best friends who enter "the oldest profession" in New Orleans. Life f*cks Riley and death f*cks her equally as hard, in the form of Baron Samedi.
This book is brilliantly written, with elements of humour, horror and horniness!!
The girls experience the vilest of men, with the most horrific behaviours. Riley experiences the worst of revenges from a disgruntled wife, resulting with her becoming an avenger for those souls that have been tortured. With the help of the Baron.
The deaths are brutal, the storyline brilliant, the action bountiful.
After the death of various prostitutes in New Orleans Baron Samedi returns Riley to wreak revenge. An intriguing novella that mixes Voodoo, fantasy and crime. Some, erm, interesting ways to kill the killers included.
This was a perfect blend of gore, spice, and supernatural, about 2 girls who run away to New Orleans and become working girls and become involved in vodoo and revenge killings!

Erica Hart, where do I start. After falling in love with Harts character Melody, from the Bloodlust series, I was excited to read something new from an up and coming extreme horror author.
Supernatural and sexy, Killer Voodoo Hooker had me gripped from the offset. A solid storyline, with sweet revenge, Hart captures a theme with intensity. Her writing style is passionate with quick character development and building atmosphere and I devoured it. I could imagine myself in New Orleans, sipping bourbon with the heady scents of the town. Her imagination for horror is next level.
For any fan of extreme horror, Erica Hart is one to watch.
This author is an auto buy for me, she really has a talent for gross out and spice in equal measurement. Not normally a fan of supernatural elements, but she made Voodoo sexy! Really enjoyed it 🤩😍
I’m not one to usually want books to be adapted into film, but I wish this one would be. I love revenge. This book truly captures the real horrors of what women go through, and I was on the brink of tears quite a few times. A sad reality turned into bittersweet revenge. Although brutal, the atmosphere was set up so beautifully, the friendship and unconditional love between the girls was so genuine. I feel that a lot of research and knowledge went into this story and I’d definitely read it again. This would be a good starter read for anyone wanting to get into the extreme horror/splatterpunk genre.
Walk in a Graveyard... Dance next to a bonfire... Drink Bourbon....
I've always been obsessed with things that happen in the deep south... New Orleans, Bourbon Street, and ever since I watched the Movie Sinners, this novella further cemented my needs, and I knew I had to keep reading more books like this♥️
"She sells her body… but will she sell her soul?” YES, PLEASE.
When I saw Erica Hart’s latest novella? Let’s just say the book didn’t ask me to read it… it hexed me into submission. (And I liked it) Voodoo, curses, sultry accents, spiritual drama enough to make your grandma clutch her rosary? I was hooked, lined, and sinkered.
This was a tale of vengeance, of friendship, of finding love in the most unconventional ways, but mostly it's about the magic in New Orleans, the old curses, the old customs. It intrigued me so much, and no one like Erica can write about this stuff better than she can.
This story had me fully invested from the first page, and i couldn't wait to dive deeper.
I absolutely loved Riley and Jayleen. These were two badass besties working the streets of the French Quarter, and the vibes were absolutely immaculate.
There was the unbreakable bond of friendship, with danger lurking in every corner, with some heavy visuals of the undead, There were visuals of the and just a cheeky pinch of Voodoo.
Oh, and the sex? don't worry, Erica has successfully catered to that as well.
But this isn’t just spooky vibes and lipstick. It gets DARK, VERY DARK, and I, for one, was all for it.
Also... that cover? Please. STOP. My eyeballs are still recovering from how hard they rolled back in admiration and appreciation.
If you like a fast-paced read that feels like a cocktail of friendship, death, danger, and ghostly revenge—with just enough glitter and gore to make it fancy—then make sure you grab this book...RIGHT AWAY!
I am absolutely hooked on Erica's writing, and I definitely will be reading more of her work in the future.
After getting into some trouble, Jayleen realizes she needs to escape her home, feeling suffocated by her religious upbringing, considering she doesn't have the values that match what people think she should be. She happens to be a nymphomaniac. Deciding to go, her best friend Riley decides that she also needs to escape, and joins Jayleen. The ladies end up in New Orleans, where, they end up in the profession of being prostitutes. And, they are pretty successful, being a couple of the best looking escorts around the area. It's not glamorous work but, it pays the bills, and then some. The downside being, the inherent, and possible danger that comes along with it. Riley, being a sweet girl, who really wants out, and just to live an ordinary life, finds out about the dangers, all too well, when she finds herself in a torturous situation. At the end of this, Riley meets a voodoo priestess by the name of Odette, who through some pretty dark magic, assists Riley in taking revenge on the men, and women who have harmed, or killed the working girls of New Orleans. But, in order to do this, would she be willing to sell her soul to a deity who manifests in the darkness? How much will she sacrifice to balance the scales of justice? Great read! Be very aware that there are very sexual parts, some kinks, and gory violence in this book, which, is what I expect from Erica reads. A very wild ride of sex, drugs, and violent revenge! 5⭐
"Killer Voodoo Hooker" by Erica Hart is a supernatural 5-star revenge story! Riley and her best friend Jayleen run away from home and end up in New Orleans as working girls. Tragedy draws the duo into a supernatural encounter, setting them on a path of revenge for victims of brutal violence.
This book has a little bit of everything—friendship, sex, violence, drug use, and vengeance, just to name a few. It's well written, and even though it’s short, you really get to know the characters. The voodoo elements were particularly intriguing, especially since I’m not familiar with that world. Some moments are heartbreaking, because they reflect harsh realities that people truly face.
This was my first book by Erica Hart, but I’m hooked and I’m looking forward to reading more of her work!
Thanks to Erica Hart for providing me with the opportunity to read this ARC and share my honest review
I was super happy to receive my very first arc book from such a talented author Know a little back story to this book made me connect to the lead character very quickly following her journey was a wild ride and at times hit home Usually the supernatural aspects pull me away from a story but this really time in enhanced the story and added another layer to it without spoilers this is a book of revenge in all the best ways super spicy and perfectly dark would highly recommend this and all of her other books
I had the pleasure of reading this book early and it did not disappoint! I really enjoyed the setting in New Orleans; she brought in different aspects of the city without making the book solely focused on that. The story is fantastic, with some great twists and turns. I enjoyed the multiple viewpoints throughout the book, which sometimes left you wondering how it all tied together, but she didn’t make you wait long to see the connection. I would give this book 4.5 stars. Definitely recommend!
Even as an experienced reader of extreme horror, there were a few moments in this one that fucked me up! Goldie's story was the highlight for me, it was shocking but it had a subtle, tragic beauty. Overall, Killer Voodoo Hooker was an ambitious supernatural revenge story with no shortage of emotionally resonant brutality.
Thank you Erica for the Arc I thoroughly enjoyed it.. spicy, gory mixed with fantasy of which I don’t usually read but it work well as you get lost in the story.
I was lucky and obtained the privilege of reading this book early. What a treat this was. Fast paced gory and raunchy. This is how I love my books. Hot girls? Yup! Sex? Yup! Gore? Yup! Murder? Yup! Voodoo magic? Definitely!

This story sucked me in from page 1 and I was literally upset I didn't had the time to finish it in one setting, but I took every bit of free time to sit down and read it.
I loved this one from beginning to end. It's gory, sensual, sexual, and depraved, sprinkled with the supernatural. It's all I can wish for in a book, and Erica Hart DELIVERED.
We follow Riley and Jayleen, who, due to circumstances, end up in New Orleans, where they sell their bodies to make a living. And trust me when I tell you, they need to do some messed-up things to pay their rent. Things happen, and Riley and Jayleen suddenly have to worry not only about their clientele but also about the supernatural.
I don't want to give away any spoilers, because I feel this book is best served going in blindly. I promise you will not be disappointed. The only thing I will say... He defecated in her vag, then proceed to bang?? UTI girl. EW. That was gross. Wonderful.
I absolutely loved Killed Voodoo Hooker! One thing I loved was the New Orleans setting , I feel like it ended up giving the story texture and also gave it a unique vibe. I appreciated that it didn’t rely too heavily on the city itself, but still gave a great perspective of it. This book had everything I was hoping for , it has a killer story and it had a perfect balance of spice and gore , I loved that the writing flowed effortlessly. It kept me hooked from beginning to end, and I genuinely had such a great time reading it. Erica Heart really nailed this story in all the fun ways! I ended up loving this book more then I expected to.
I highly recommend this one if you enjoy violent, paranormal, female revenge type of books! It's a story full of gore, voodoo magic, spicy scenes, revenge and heartbreaking events. The book made think of A Christmas Carol, but like a gory and vengeful version of it.
I wasn't expecting the paranormal aspects of the story to be so unquestioned; was more like a fantasy book in the sense that no one bat an eyelid when otherworldly things happened. However, once I got into the whole mystique and paranormal essence of the book I really, really liked it! And the story does have a depth to it in several ways. The multiple POV did confuse me at the start, but it all came together beautifully in the end. So, it's well worth the slight confusion, I promise!
Some scenes are based on true life events from a working girl's perspective, and I think the author really highlights those issues in a very clever way in the book. Some scenes are heartbreakingly brutal so make sure to read the TW before diving into it though. Your mental health always comes first. <3

Jayleen and Riley are working girls. After a certain incident the girls decide to move to New Orleans to start afresh there. With a fresh load of custom, the girls are treated like utter shite. Jayleen loves sex so her job makes her happy however for Riley she wants something new. Sick of being mistreated she looks for something else. Coming across Odette, who knows voodoo works in their favour when she can get revenge on all those that hurt her and her fellow working girls.
This was twisty and turny in all the best ways. View points from lots of characters make this book. How Odette came to be what she is. I love the twist in supernatural form this took yet still remained the sexy monstrosity this is. Absolutely packed with gnarly moments as well as jam packed with sex makes this an incredible read! Everything this lady writes is top notch and knowing her made my heart hurt that she experienced some of this. She deserves better
I was given an ARC copy to read for an honest an review. I throughly enjoyed this novel. If you love gore and pretty graphic torture scenes this book is for you. What set this apart for me was the use of voodoo magic and supernatural themes which makes it stand out more. I fell in love with the characters also I need more marmaduke! I'm hoping this leads to a sequel because it was left open for one. Thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely reread
I adored everything about this book!! The character development was detailed and the plot was strong the whole way through. There is gore and spicy scenes but they all serve a purpose rather than just being used as filler or for shock value. Can’t wait to read more from this author!
