He will kill for her. He will burn for her.

In a brutal, frozen world, Winter is hidden and hunted—half-Black, half-white, and entirely alone.
Ethan is married. Trapped. Dying inside.

Their love is forbidden. Their touch, a crime.
But when danger comes for Winter, Ethan will cross a line that will damn them both.

This isn’t a love story. That would be too safe ...
It’s a love watered in pain, fed by longing and reaped in a betrayal so deadly ... not even their hearts will survive.

I am an island girl, I love the ocean, sunlight and growing food and flowers.

Gardening, reading and eating fish are all consuming passions of mine.

I am a western history buff who resides in the majestic state of Colorado where I get to visit old forts, homes and various sites around the state, my kids hate it ;)

I love hearing from my readers, and please share what you are reading and loving at the same time. I am always in need of a good book. My favorite genres are romance both historical and contemporary, great fantasy and an awesome suspense every now and then. Any book written about Henry VIII always gets my attention but my favorite man must be King Arthur. Need I say more?

Stay safe and be well read.

This was an engrossing read. It reminded me of the violent, visceral way that JanJan Untamed writes her historical romances.

I liked the FMC. She was strong and didn't have a problem with standing up for herself, even though it could get you killed in those days, as a black woman.

The ending is the only reason why I didn't give it 4 stars. It seemed to not be a HEA, more like HFN, which I don't like. There wasn't an epilogue to say for sure.
