This was quick, and cute. It's one of those stories that you know, going in, there are going to be things that don't make logical sense, writing choices that may get on your nerves - but it's not a big enough issue to cause you to DNF.
I'm going to mention the few issues I had first.
For a short book, there's quite a lot of unnecessary repetition going on. For instance, Anna's tale about why she's in trouble, when she and her colleague find out about the forgeries and then go to the FBI only for him to be killed - we get that story, in full detail, at least twice because Anna first tells Keric, and then tells the other orcs in the commune.
We, the readers, didn't need the ENTIRE story twice. It would have sufficed to just write "she explained everything in detail" and then moved on with the plot.
We also get scenes repeated, first from Anna's perspective, and then from Keric's. The process of getting Anna onto the plane to take her to Maine, beginning with Keric finding her at the bus stop - we get that from both perspectives, but it's the same story - not something that needs both sides. There's nothing new elucidated in Keric's POV that wasn't already in Anna's.
We're also treated to several (no less than 4) very detailed run-downs of Anna's skin care routine. We have to read about her applying sunscreen, vitamin C serums, and liquid blush etc...listen - once, if you feel the need to describe her washing her face, slathering different goos on her face, then applying makeup - fine. But EVERY time this woman gets ready, we have at least 1 paragraph giving excruciating detail on this woman's apparently very extensive beauty regimen. It's such a weird and random thing to focus on, man.
If you'd taken these repetitions out of the story, this probably would have been novella-length. And you know what? That would have been okay. Otherwise, we could have dived deeper into the criminal aspect and made this book longer. As it is, it felt sort of like we were just focusing on the weirdest, smallest, most random bits of detail instead of the bigger picture.
One last thing - we're told early (and often) that a woman WILL get pregnant when she sleeps with an orc for the first time. There's no chance of it failing, even if she's on birth control.
Obviously this story ignores the fact that a woman's body doesn't work that way. And that's fine, I didn't really care about it so I could let it roll off me. I'm generally not the hugest fan of this sort of pregnancy in books, but I've read other stories like this before so it's something you just know to expect. Whatever.
But then, at the end of the book, we're subjected to everybody being magically surprised that Anna is pregnant. How? Why? Everybody there is either a Bride or an Orc. Everybody there knows how this shit works. They already know Anna and Keric have been together...biblically. So why is everyone so surprised that she's pregnant?
Maybe it would make sense if these were outsiders, but literally the women gushing over her are other orc brides....1 or 2 of them are already pregnant themselves. A few are actually a part of the group who informed her about the pregnancy issue in the first place. Why's everyone so shocked!
Moreover - Keric's scented her long before she gets around to telling him. He's known from like, day 3, that she's pregnant. Yet, he's "patiently waited for her to find out for herself".
But...If it was inevitable, why are we surprised? Why wasn't it just assumed she'd be pregnant after their first tryst?
Yeah yeah, I know it's because Mills wanted the sweet moment of the woman telling her man they're going to be parents. It just irks me people act like there's even a silver of a chance she couldn't, like the news is this big grand special thing - when it's just...what happens in Orc society.
-shrug- In the grand scheme of things I know this is probably the stupidest little thing to get bent out of shape over. But for some reason it just really irritated me.
Outside of these few things- this is a cute, lighthearted, sweet little monster romance. There's enough action and danger and intrigue to keep me glued to the plot. But let's be honest, the story's really about the romance.
I enjoy these tales where the dudes are hyper-fixated on consent and protecting their chosen partner. And I can respect a strong-willed, savvy, compassionate woman who knows her own mind and has a strong moral compass. Where the community is large and vibrant and filled with side characters that are funny and easy to love.
This was never meant to be that deep - we don't get a TON of detail about how the bad guys get caught and dealt with after the action that goes down 70% of the way through the story. I wish we'd had more of a confrontation than we did but I wasn't expecting it.
For a rainy afternoon read, this hit the spot.

A captivating read that will keep you engrossed from start to finish
Anna Lee had met Kenric Irontree when he had pulled her to safety when his Orc cousin had gone in to a mating madness when he had found his mate and she had been the only person that had been able to calm him and they had become a mated pair.
Unbeknown to Anna who has been on the run for the last three years the individuals that her and her colleague had discovered had been stealing important documents and laundering dirty money through the universities books and then replacing the original documents with forgeries.
Anna and her head of department had collated evidence to take to the FBI but just two days prior to this her colleague had been murdered and she had run with the evidence and it seemed that they had found her and were threatening anyone she cared for so she decided to run again.
Kenric had known that something was wrong and had discovered Anna hiding at the bus station about to board a coach and leave the city, he had known that the only way to keep her safe was for the evidence to be brought to the media and then to ensure they perpetrators will be brought to justice.
When the ORC Commune was attacked by paid assassins that had been told to kill Anna and retrieve the information that would incriminate them all. This is a simply wonderful read and I guarantee that readers will be captivated by this simply wonderful book, it will hold your attention from start to finish.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

Anna Lee is a resilient and smart FMC. She's been running from dangerous people for three years, but now she's got Keric Irontree and the rest of his clan to help keep her safe. Keric is kind and patient and completely swoonworthy in his devotion to Anna. The way he empowers her and supports her in her mission for justice is endearing.

love this series
This isn’t your typical romantic series. You know Orc meets human woman scents her wants her…blah blah blah. This series is written with an underlying storyline that sucks you in. Anna Lee is a teacher. She is on the run again. She’s been on the run for the past three years since her colleague was murdered. They discovered rare collections of manuscripts and books were being forged and the originals were being sold off. They compiled enough evidence and contacted the FBI but before the investigation could begin Anna’s colleague was murdered. Anna ran and kept running to save herself. She ends up meeting Keric and family. Keric scents her and knows that she is his bride.
This is the story of how Keric helps Anna get the information of the people guilty of murdering her colleague and other crimes brought to justice. I truly enjoyed this book. It’s not the typical HEA and has lots of twists and turns. Some of it you can guess. But I enjoyed the book and look forward to the next in the series.

Fantastic follow-up to ‘Orcs Do It Better’. Keric is a gentleman, even when everything screams he should be the opposite. Anna is a strong fmc, very capable and honorable, very worthy Keric’s Orc warrior self.
‘Orcs Do It Harder’ is well written, has great world build, with fully fleshed out characters. I love how author Michele Mills transitions to the next book in the series—dangling that delicious carrot in my face …

This starts with action, and that adventure, tension, and feeling just grows throughout the story, and I loved every minute of it!
Anna is caring, loving, has a strong moral compass, and wants to do the right thing, and wants to keep her loved ones safe as much as possible.
Keric is strong, commanding, driven, giving, and ready to do whatever he has to, to keep his bride, his future safe, so they can start their forever together.
There's drama, there's intrigue, there's just a little bit of chaos, and there's a sincere connection that blossoms throughout it all! And I loved seeing more of the commune, and also getting a lil peek at what's coming next and I can't wait!

Keric has know since Galen (Orcs do it better) went feral and he protected Anna that she was his Bride. What no one realizes is that Anna has been living under a fake name and now she has been found and in danger. It is decided to take her to Maine to the Orc Commune to protect her. She is staying in Keric's cabin. The chemistry between the is high but things go slow, as he only wants her if it forever and ready to have a baby.
There is a lot to the story, why she is being chased and danger that comes to the commune but I do not want to spoil it. The author's Orc stories are not about feral beast but mighty warriors that love deep when they find their one. I loved this pairing even if I wished Anna would have made the jump sooner.

Orcs Do it Harder by Michele Mills is book 2 in the Monsters Love Curvy Girls series. This time Anna receives photos and a note saying she needs to hand over the evidence she has against powerful people involved with stealing rare manuscripts. She's been on the run for 3 years after her friend was killed over the situation. She's got her go bag ready to go, but Keric, the orc she's recently met stops her from running, taking her to the remote Orc sanctuary in Maine where they learn that they truly love each other and fight off mercenaries. I love thesexstories!.

This was another fun read for the series and I love all the family vibes throughout. Anna has been on the run for three years, trying to stay alive when powerful people want her dead. Sadly, she gets found again, just as she was well settling into this 'new' life she'd made for herself. Thankfully, Keric followed his intuition that she was in trouble and was able to persuade her to come to the commune for true security. What follows is a slow building of trust and commitment all while danger approaches. This story really included lots of side characters, giving it good depth, action, danger, connection and hot romance. I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next book :D

To me this story was absolutely perfect 😍 - full of emotion, action, and heat. Keric, who thought he would never be blessed with a mate, meets Anna, who is on the run from danger. Anna is a great character who has had to face a lot of adversity, and while she has been honed into a woman who is smart and resourceful, she longs for a love of her own and is drawn to Keric. When danger resurfaces, Keric makes her an offer she can’t refuse which leads to a beautiful story capturing the joy of finding your soul mate all while gaining new friends, family, and of course, Dinah ❤️.

Book two of the series—although they're connected, each one is a complete story by itself. I was really eager to learn more about the other interesting orcs we meet along the way. But for now, I’ll just enjoy one story at a time and be patient.

I love how Keric has been so patient and waiting for Anna to show interest before making his move. Unfortunately, it takes a dangerous moment to finally get them together. Anna has such strength. Her drive to protect those she cares about shows what a beautiful human being she is. Keric and Anna just clicks and I really enjoyed this one.

Another great series. These Orc males will do everything in their power to protect their Brides. Anna has been running from her past for three years. Discovering and revealing forgeries which got her colleague killed. Keric realizes Anna is his future Bride during Garlen’s monster episode and he saved her. When Anna’s cover is blown, Keric brings her into the Orc commune and will protect her with his life. Love this series.

I love the stories of these Orcs who fall so hard, and it is for a lifetime. This one is exactly like that. Anna has been running for her life for the past three years, but now she has a protector, Keric, who will move heaven and earth to ensure her safety. He is OTT and such a gentle giant. Anna and Keric are such a fantastic couple. This book has lots of action and slow-burning steam—an excellent book with a perfect happy ending.

Keric has known for a while that Anna is his bride, and he's determined to keep her safe, so he takes her to the Orc commune for protection. This is a paranormal, Orc romance with interesting characters, danger, suspense, steam, and so much more. Orcs Do It Harder is book two and a great addition to the Orcs Love Curvy Girls series, and I can't wait to read the next book in this fun series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This was so good. From the very beginning. Hold onto your hats once you start this book you will not put it down. I loved every single moment of this book. It keeps you hooked from the very beginning. I loved how Keric took over Anna's protection and made her feel safe. Everything about this couple was so much fun to read. The chemistry was off the wall and fun to read. The general feel of family when they went to Keric's cabin was so heartwarming. This is a must read!!!

This is the second book in the series and picks up right where the last book ended. It's a slow burn with lots of yearning by both Anna and Keric along the way. Overall, it's well written and a good story.The spice is great. There is a decent tension build-up before the action gets going towards the end. Some repetitiveness and a few unanswered questions pulled me out of the story a bit at times. However, I'm still looking forward to the last book in the series.

This was a cute story but some parts I thought dragged on a bit. Anna and Keric are adorable together. His patience is admirable.
The foundation of this story is suspenseful and tensions run wild. The heat and the passion, the trust and the commitment and dedication is off the pages, not just for this wonderful couple but all those at the commune who protect what's theirs and their family 💜🔥.

The Harder the Better
I enjoyed this second book in this series. He took her under protection when she was threatened and her alias was exposed. Unfortunately that meant staying in his cabin in the orc commune up in Maine. When security and safety was breached, the entire community came to their rescue. He went feral, but she was able to calm him, then they claimed each other and their HEA.

This is the second book in the Orcs Love Curvy Girls series. I love these longer stories. The mystery & intrigue surrounding Anna Lee and Kenric Irontree’s quiet knowledge of what this woman might mean to him had me engrossed from the start. Kenric’s protectiveness of Anna, his inclusion of her within the orc commune, and her willingness to engage made her a great FMC. Great segue to Jonus’ story.

Intriguing storyline, liked all the characters from previous books, make appearances. Enjoyed the protectiveness and restraint from Keric, as he valued in giving Anna a choice in all things. Loved that Anna & Keric got their HEA. She was on the run and lonely and he was just lonely. This history of Orcs is a new storyline for me, sad to think they could potentially end up alone if they never find someone. Enjoying this journey with these characters of them finding their mate and then being chosen by the mate. Changes the concept up and have a little extra twist to the story.

Anna is on the run when Keric stops her. Keric is a cinnamon roll, an absolute sweetie. Anna is very cautious of getting into a relationship with him as it means a life long commitment. The danger on the horizon is also an issue. I loved this story and look forward to more in this series.

I loved how this orc thought he would never find love and yet he was patient and kind which was enough to get Anna to trust and love him. So glad to read this story and can’t wait to see what happens with Jonus. I was sad to get to the end of the story and have to wait for the next one.

A great read and full of emotion, action, adventure and of course, the desired steam, between these characters. Anna is living in hiding, assuming a new persona for protection. Sadly, the past has caught up with her and it's her relationship with the yummy green Orc Keric, that halts her fleeing.
