Sanctuary is more than a band—it’s a home for the lost and broken.
No one knows that better than Ryker, the lead singer of the newly rising rock band. It seems he is unable to go even one day without being in the spotlight, and not always for good reasons. From run-ins with his label to arrests and a long line of broken hearts, it seems this rock god is determined to enjoy fame.
Fox, on the other hand, Sanctuary’s infamous guitarist, is the perfect, quintessential rocker in the public’s eye. Only ever seen when flirting and playing with his lead singer, earning the title of rock and roll’s off-limits rebel. It’s no surprise why these guys have taken the world by storm, and it isn’t just for their music, but also their risqué behavior when they perform on stage.
The playboy and the bad boy.
Is it all a game?
An act for the fans?
Tune in to our live coverage of their performance tonight and find out.
the angst, the possessiveness from both of them, ugh it was too good. also the grinding and touching on stage? BYE 🥵🔥 forever will love a good rockstar romance.
Ugh, Ry and Fox were so cute together, but my oh my did they have a rough start. I wasn’t a huge fan of Ry in the beginning. He took way too long to realise he was in love with Fox and just continued to hurt him even though he kept saying he didn’t want to. I wanted to punch him multiple times, especially when he got involved and put Fox down for connecting with someone else while he’s been sleeping with others the whole time.
These two had such bad communication. So many bad choices were made just based off of assumptions. Once they finally admitted their feelings towards one another, Ry became a sweetheart.
I liked how the whole Theo thing was handled and how we got to see Fox find his strength afterwards and help other victims. Theo’s incessant need to get Fox back wasn’t deeply divulged, which left me questions. Also, the whole drama with the fans turning on them for actually dating when they’ve been pretty much playing it up the whole time they’ve been performing didn’t make sense to me.
Overall this was a fun read where something toxic actually turned into a healthy relationship.

"I regret everybody that has ever touched me that wasn’t you. They were never you. No one is you. I don’t want to be your bandmate or your friend. I want to be your everything. I want to be your obsession. I want to be the only thing you see. I want to be yours.”
I'm in my MM era and Katie did not disappoint with this spicy Rockstar romance! Katie has a way of making you feel the emotions her characters are experiencing. I laughed with them & I also teared up for what they went through. Fox & Ryker had such a real, raw, & emotional relationship from the very beginning which truly hooked me. Neither one truly knew or accepted the fact the other could truly have feelings for them & by the time they realized the feelings they shared they avoided the truth for the happiness of the people they loved the most.
The found family aspect of this book was absolutely phenomenal. The 4 members of Sanctuary would do anything to see one another happy even if it means risking their happiness in the process. Everyone deserves the kind of happiness, love, & family Katie brought to life in this book!!
Katie…I knew I loved your books, but OMFG this one!!!
"We named our band Sanctuary, because we were all lost and searching for a home. I found mine, and it's you."
Ryker and Fox are my Roman Empire from now till forever. Was it wrong of me to want to reread it, not even a day after the first read?
Katie has a way to make characters feel destined, matched in heaven in hell, and still, make them grow and suffer through life to change and fit even better together.
Ryker was my confused, possessive boy. He was so into Fox, but he was straight...or was he? In his mind, Fox was everywhere, but he couldn't understand why...till he did, and all I could do was scream because, of course, the fine print would be THAT. He had a lot to waddle through in his mind. And the way he did it was NOT the best, but he is human, and Katie wrote it in such a marvelous way I couldn't even get mad at him for what and why he did what he did.
My man Fox? He had me down bad from the beginning. Im a sucker for longing and angst. I liked that he attempted some kind of moving on, key word attempt lol. His feelings, his fears, his past that came back to haunt him, but it didn't make him hide; instead, he chose to rise above the circumstances and stand as a beacon for others who went through the same. And how he acted with Ryker once they gave in? OBSESSED.
Complex is the name of the game, and Katie made these characters feel real.
And the spice? I know Katie knows her spice, but it was even hotter than expected. These two had a connection and a chemistry that sparked through the page.
I want to say too, I'm so thankful this year I discovered Katie because she has rapidly turned into one of my faves, so to get this e-ARC? Beyond thankful!
Quotes:
I might want Fox in a way I've never wanted another, but I know our deal, so I won't act on it.
I am obsessed with him. I know it's useless, but it doesn't stop me craving him.
"I don't want to be your bandmate or your friend. I want to be your everything. I want to be your ob-session. I want to be the only thing you see. I want to be yours."
He crossed that line, and now he's mine. He isn't getting away from me now.
Mad Ryker is a fucking beautiful sight, but jealous Ryker is perfection.
"You better be calling me your god. You don't call anyone else's name when I'm inside you."
"Look at me when I fuck you."
Fuck, he looks so goddamn beautiful, and he's all mine.
"Good boy, you're mine now, Ryker."
I fell in love with his eyes first. They were only for me. Always for me.
"You're going to feel sore every time you move, reminding you that I claimed you, but you like it, don't you?"
"I won't be your best friend, your bandmate, or even just your roommate. I'm going to be your everything."
He remakes me into his possession, and it's all I want.
This world thinks I belong to them, but they are wrong. I am his.
"Possessive little thing, aren't you?"
"If you want to be a brat, then I'm going to treat you like one."
He needs me to take control, which is fine with me. I've wanted to put this brat on his knees for years.
"Taste me,"
"Look at you. You look so good on your knees for me. If only your fans could see you now, sucking your boyfriend's cock."
"I plan to love him as long as he lets me."
I struggle to catch my breath, barely believing that he's finally mine and I can touch him without needing a reason.
"All I know and all I have ever known is that I'm lost without you. Without you, there's no me, and every love song I have ever sung has been for you."
I knew Ryker was the one the moment I met him.
I don't care what the world is saying. My entire world is right here, and that's all that matters.
"You want to taste me?"
"That's right, baby, say my name."
"I love how you still blush for me, even when I'm balls deep in your ass."
"You act like you haven't crawled and begged for my cock before."
I open my mouth, and he presses his lips to mine then spits the drink inside.
Nobody, and I mean nobody should ever have to be touched without their consent.
"I fell in love with the one person I wasn't allowed to, and when it comes down to it, I'm not even sorry."
"I will never apologize for falling in love with my best friend."
"Be good and scream for me."
I will always have him, and we will always be legendary.
OMG This group stole my heart! I am seriously in love with them and the relationship they have with each other. I don’t normally read rockstar romances but I had such a great time. I may go back to read the other books in the series since there was little tidbits about a couple of the other characters from them. I have been intrigued now! But I read this one all alone and was not lost at all!
SO MUCH PINING AND YEARNING! All the emotions! The anger, the hurt, the love and support made such an amazing story that it kept me hooked! I would love a story about the other 2 band members. I really enjoyed their banter and their loving support of Fox and Ryker!
Also when Fox and Ryker FINALLY realize what they are to each other, the moment is epic! Super explosive and hot and you can just feel the years of pent up tension and frustration! If you like MM Rockstar Romances with Found Family and Forbidden Love then this is the book for you! I definitely recommend!
From the start, I was fanning myself at Fox's and Ryker's stage chemistry. I felt the desire pulled taut between these two and loved it.
Fellas, is it gay to drink water? (Yes)
While I was a very much here for the angsty mutual pining, Resist later brings up a very difficult and potentially triggering topic. This book handled the trauma and healing process with the nuance I felt it deserved. This event is not used as cheap shock value, it becomes a turning point where the guys grow together as a band and as a family.
After seeing them stand by each other through the most horrible circumstances, the last bit of the book hit me hard. I may have gotten a little choked up. I couldn't imagine a more sentimental way to tie the story together.
Thanks so so much to the author for sending an ARC my way! I'm leaving this review of my own accord.
If you're after a book with angst, tension, possessiveness, and drawn out foreplay, then I definitely recommend this book.
Ryker and Fox make up half of the band, Sanctuary, and their on stage antics heat up the page from the very beginning. This spicy, MM, rockstar romance had me feeling all the feels. Frustration. Happy. Heartbroken. And so much more.
This book does cover a potentially triggering scene, so please check out those trigger warnings if you feel you need to. That being said, the whole topic was covered in such a healing way, and I loved that at this point, they had each other, and the rest of the band to lean on for support.
As always, KA Knight has knocked it out of the ballpark. This spicy MM read draws you in from the very beginning. Fox and Ryker both on stage and off stage ooze chemistry. The mutual pining was off the charts. Character growth? Also written extremely well. I felt as though I could sympathize with Fox and Ryker many times. I will say to check trigger warnings as some may find it difficult to read portions of the book. However, if you stick through it, the healing process is beautifully written. The found family trope in this book is by far one of the best written I’ve ever read.
What a strong start to the book! The angst between Fox and Ryker was completely next level. The adoration and friendship that they have for each other is nothing like I've read before. I enjoyed the innocence of their "platonic" relationship, especially when Ryker struggled with his sexuality.
The depth of Fox's character was so well worked that you could understand his thoughts, feelings and emotions throughout the book. Ryker is absolutely a brat, and deserves all that Fox can dish out to him!
The familty of the band, and I do mean family, is everything to them all and it shows that at the end of the day, if you have them, then things will be okay.
I absolutely loved this book and one of my favourite scenes would be when Fox and Ryker sneak back to the tour bus for a quickie and had to hide from their band manager. The way Dash was trying to work out their sex manoeuvres had me laughing out loud. Love Love Love this!!
Fox and Ryker were incredibly captivating. I was hooked on them. From friends to pretending to be something different on stage, even though they both had feelings for each other but remained silent. Their journey together, the unbreakable bond of the band, and their support for one another through thick and thin—all of these aspects made this an unforgettable read.
𝒯𝓇ℴ𝓅ℯ𝓈: ☠️MM Romance ☠️Friends to Lovers ☠️Bandmates ☠️ Found Family ☠️Forbidden Love
Oof, the on-stage action sent me. Fox and Ryker were great characters, I loved how they supported each other, and their chemistry was fire. I really enjoyed the found family aspect. Check your CW, there is a heavy topic dealt with. I thought it was handled well here. This was a great book, and I need more Sanctuary!
I really enjoyed this MM rockstar romance! It was hot, it was spicy, and the characters were so easy to love. I really appreciated the little plot twist. The angst and the will they won’t they at the beginning was soo much fun as well! If you love a spicy read with a good plot, you’ll love this book!
I received an ARC of this book and while I’m super behind, this one was another epic installment. I liked the flirty banter, sexy onstage shenanigans, friends to lovers, will they won’t they, and the forbidden love aspects of this story. Plus add in the epic rockstar moments, the ability to overcome harrowing situations, and the love that shines through. So good!
I loved loved loved this and it was a stunning conclusion to the series! Katie just knows how to write seductive and compelling MM romance. The characters were really fleshed out and gave emotional depth to the story and I will say i did cry reading this one. The relationships in this book - be it friendship or romantic are so expertly written, it really made me invest in the high stakes action that happens in the book. And the dynamic between Ryker and Fox is just *chef's kiss*. All in all I simply loved it and can't stop thinking about it!
It does touch on some dark themes so please do your research before reading if you have any triggers. However, if you're up for some very smutty romance I would recommend you add this to your TBR immediately!
I finally feel like we are reaching our dreams, but I also feel like I’m losing him in the process.
After all the nights of looking at the stars, wishing that one day your music would someday capture the world's attention.
After working until your fingers bled and your throat was sore from singing your heart out night after night.
After finding lost wrecked souls and finding not only a band…but a family.
Your dreams of finally hitting the charts, performing to sell out venues and being starstruck at the famous singer sitting next you.
But, what will be the cost to having your dreams come true?
“We named our band Sanctuary. Because we were all lost and searching for a home. I found mine, and it’s you.”
Ryker & Fox have never been shy performing on stage, along with Dash & Strike they make up the new and upcoming band Sanctuary. They aren’t officially together but, the closeness they share together on and off the stage means something to both of them deep down. Only now in the public eye of the music industry their new contract means that nothing real can go on between the bandmates…only the illusion that they show for their fans.
Ryker knows that this is the band's chance to finally hit the big time and all those backstreet gigs were worth it. He doesn't want to jeopardise their chances not now, so locking down his feelings Ryker accepts to play the role of flirting with Fox on stage. Slowly he drifts away from his long-time bandmates and throws himself in the limelight to put on the show that he’s embracing his new life…even if behind the mask cracks are forming.
Fox has always been the level headed one and knowing that the contract said is struggling with Ryker whiplash emotions. Every touch, every look and every word said is all for show nowadays and Fox is tired of being Ryker plaything. Where was the guy who lay on the old van roof and glazed upon the stars while curling into his chest?
I’m not a saint. I can’t resist anymore.
Only enough is enough, and faced with the reality of losing not only your bandmate and best friend…these two broken souls are about to be hitting the high notes together and singing with their hearts laid bare.
This world thinks I belong to them, but they are wrong. I am his.
However, as soon as Sanctuary becomes the hottest band anyone can talk about, disaster strikes and old haunts reappear wanting to claim someone as theirs.
Will Ryker & Fox be able to keep a hold of their dream playing as Sanctuary with their friends or will it be the last record they ever play together?
I’m obsessed with him. I know it’s useless, but it doesn’t stop me craving him.
What a show stopping end to this series!
The new up and coming band Sanctuary has burst onto our pages and like every fangirl you will be screaming for more and more!
I loved this story Ryker & Fox take the mains stage along with bandmates Strike & Dash. You find out how their outrages no shame or fucks given performace helped them come into the limelight and finally take to the big stages.
Ryker & Fox’s story has all the feels, at one point I wanted to slam their heads together but I knew I had to wait for their solo moments…and wow are they about to rock your world. Their emotions pull you in right from the start, you see the changes within them, feel their pain as they are exposed and fear what will become of this starstruck couple.
Brilliant writing, Knight will never hold back and gives out clear messages through her words.
🎸They’re bandmates. They’re best friends. They’re burning for each other.🔥 “We named our band Sanctuary… because we were all lost and searching for a home.”
Excuse me while I scream into a mic because this book wrecked me. I am on the floor, emotionally ruined, and absolutely obsessed.
Resist is pure MM rockstar chaos with angst so delicious you’ll want to bottle it and wear it like cologne.
Ryker and Fox? They aren’t just bandmates they’re a slow-burn wildfire. 🔥
One’s a reckless, spotlight-loving bad boy with brat energy for days. The other’s a guarded, swoon-worthy guitarist who’s been quietly in love for YEARS.
Add forbidden feelings, a fake stage flirtation, and a soul-deep connection they’re both too afraid to claim, and babe you’ve got TENSION. SPICE. DEVASTATION. REDEMPTION.
💔 Friends to lovers? Yes. 🎸 Bandmates hiding feelings? Oh absolutely. 🔥 On-stage chemistry that spills over into off-stage heartbreak? You know it. 💋 Possessive energy, nicknames, and “I want to be your obsession” level declarations? I need a cold shower.
But underneath the heat and longing is a story about found family, emotional healing, and choosing love even when the world tells you not to.
Fox and Ryker broke my heart, stitched it back together, and then set it on fire in the best possible way.
Also, shoutout to Sanctuary as a whole…the ride or die band fam I’d join in a heartbeat. I’d let Dash wreck me emotionally and Strike destroy me with one-liners. 🖤
So yeah...this isn’t just a romance. It’s art. It’s longing. It’s licking your wounds backstage while screaming into the void because your bandmate just kissed you like you’re everything.
🎤Fox has Ryker on his knees. That’s all you need to know.
God, the ANGST in this book. Katie does it again- completely destroying and healing my heart in the span of just over 200 pages. Resist is everything I crave in a MM romance: tension, chemistry, longing, and a slow-burn that hurts in the best way.
We follow Ryker and Fox, two bandmates with magnetic on-stage chemistry, and an off-stage friendship that’s hiding a mountain of repressed feelings. Neither of them is willing to risk the friendship- or the band- by making a move, even though it’s painfully obvious how deep their connection runs. It's that delicious kind of pining where every glance and offhand comment feels loaded with meaning.
Ryker? Absolute brat energy and I loved every second of it. He’s cocky, impulsive, and just barely keeping his feelings for Fox under control. The man is so possessive it’s practically its own subplot. He’s doing everything short of tattooing his name on Fox just to keep other people away. And Fox? Stoic, guarded, and so clearly in love it hurts. The duality between them is chef’s kiss perfection.
The pacing is brilliant, with the first 50% simmering in "will-they-won’t-they" tension that had me screaming internally. And just when you think it might ease up, in comes the second half with a full-blown ex-drama, emotional stakes, and some truly gut-punching moments. Somehow, despite the brevity of the book, the emotional depth is immense.
I also really appreciated the way Katie handles character growth - there's so much vulnerability, especially in how these two learn to let down their guards and really see each other. Their devotion builds page by page in a way that feels earned and genuine.
If you're a fan of queer angst, emotional slow burns, found family vibes (the band dynamics are perfection), and some serious stage presence chemistry, Resist is a must-read. Katie continues to prove she can pack more heart and tension into a 200 pages than most authors manage in full-length 400 page novels.
Disclaimer: I received this ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts.
Our mc's are Ryker and Fox. Ryker is so lovely and beautiful but also kind of reckless and doesn't think things through. Fox, he is so sweet, kind, beautiful, and is kind of the opposite to Ryker as his thought process is a little different.
The plot was amazing. I initially thought it was going to be so beautiful and sweet, but it wasn't just that. It was wholesome, heartbreaking and spoke on some really dark matters that people have to go through every day. Ryker and Fox are in love with each other without the other knowing, but due to a once in a lifetime opportunity, their contracts stop the possibility of being together. They need to sell an image and them together in "real life," isn't it. Ryker pulls away and starts getting really sloppy and really disrespectful not only towards his friends/ bandmates but also towards Fox and the close bond they once shared. To make matters worse, someone from Fox's past comes back to haunt him, and devastation ensues. Will Ryker prove to Fox that he is the man Fox fell in love with, or does he ruin his chance???
There is so much more I could say, but I want you to experience this for yourself. Please check your triggers as your mental health matters 💚
It's an amazing read, and I am so thankful to Katie and your incredible team for the opportunity to read this story and to be a part of your ARC team 🖤
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶

I went into Resist by KA Knight craving angst, and boy oh boy — Katie delivered it in spades!
From the very first page, this book had me hooked, tugging on my heartstrings and refusing to let go. What really drew me in was the emotional tension between the main characters. They’re perfect for each other in every way — you feel it with every stolen glance, every lyric, every moment where they almost give in to what’s between them. But the twist? They don’t even fully realize how deep their feelings go. There’s no fated love or magical bond here — just two flawed, passionate men fighting against what they want most. And to make it even more painful (in the best way)? A contract stands between them, forbidding them from being together. You can hear the angst screaming at you as they struggle with what they feel versus what they’re allowed to have… and I LIVED for it.
If you love rockstar romances, this one is a must-read. Resist gives us a raw, emotional look at the highs and lows of fame, the price of success, and the beauty of finding family in the people who stand by you when it matters most. The band dynamics were one of my favorite parts — I loved seeing how the characters leaned on each other, fought, made up, and built something real together. And don’t even get me started on the steam — this book is 🔥🔥🔥 in the best way. Every scene is written with so much chemistry and intensity that I couldn’t tear my eyes away.
Tropes: - possessive MC’s - MM romance - Lots of steam 🔥 - Friends to lovers - Grumpy/ sunshine - Bandmates - Touch him and 🔪 - Forbidden love - Found family
"Resist" dives deep into the electrifying world of rock music, exploring themes of fame, romance, and personal struggle.
The story follows Ryker, the charismatic yet troubled lead singer of Sanctuary, and Fox, the enigmatic guitarist known for his on stage antics and magnetic charm.
K.A. Knight masterfully portrays the complexities of fame, showcasing Ryker's personal demons as he grapples with the consequences of his public persona. The story is infused with drama, especially through Ryker’s tumultuous relationships, both with fans and the music industry.
Fox serves as a compelling counterpoint to Ryker's chaos. As the quintessential rebel, his flirtatious nature and strong connection with Ryker add a layer of romance and tension to their dynamic. Their chemistry is electric , and the lines are blurred between affection and performance, and I’m wondering was it real, or all just for the fans (once you’ve read it, you’ll know the answer to that question 😉)
With vivid descriptions that bring the rock scene to life, you find yourself on the edge of your seats during the band's performances, it all feels so real.
Overall, "Resist" is a captivating blend of music, love, and the quest for identity in a world that often demands conformity.
For fans of rock romance, it's a ride worth taking, filled with passion, drama, and the question of whether true love can withstand the pressures of fame.
Yes, it’s part of a series, but I’ve not read the others (something I’m going to be rectifying pretty soon 😉) and I don’t think it detracts from the book.
Ryker and Fox clearly need a third person in their duo and I volunteer as tribute. Sanctuary is a band that just got their huge break, but it comes with an unfortunate side effect for two of it's members. This is a found family that rather be there for one another than for their big break. They're touring with a big name (you'll know them if you read previous books) so much of this happens before and during their signing the record contract, which adds more depth and information. There is so much angst, love, mutual pining, and some hard hitting traumas in this book. They are all done beautifully. There is a trigger in here but K.A. Knight handles it with care and compassion exactly the way anyone would want it to be handled. I wanted to throw my phone so many times as I was reading because I just wanted everyone to leave the boys all alone...ok and their mutual angst as well. Dash and Stryker are the best friends everyone needs and the perfect comedic duo when needed. This is the perfect example of found family having your back always. The pacing is one point, the characters fully fleshed out (you will feel their emotions so well), and the baddie? Oh he gets what's coming to him. I love the healing everyone does both internally alone and within the group with help. Some tropes you'll find: ~MM ~Found Family ~Friends to Lovers ~Bandmates ~Mental Health Rep ~And more... I have reread this already and I will never get enough of these boys and this series.
This book took me on a journey I was not expecting but loved so dearly, like seriously I was viciously unwell in the best way!
Katie has such an inate ability to no matter what the characters are going through or what is happening around them to make the most heart warming, sweet and loving moments and this book was filled with them.
From the beginning of this book, I was expecting some mad, a little bit toxic, crazy wild Romance and yes while we got that we also got was gut wrenching, tearjerking (like seriously I wept), meaningful romance that felt so incredible real and raw.
Fox was just my baby boy I loved home form the first page till the very last, he is such a strong, beautiful sassy amazing character and I loved reading his story more than you’ll ever know. And Ryker was just the biggest sweetheart ever you immediately think he’s going to be this bad boy kind of Dickhead character end up being just the sweetest little soul and the most loving thing ever!
I won’t lie to you when I say their relationship was like my favourite thing ever it went from toxic miscommunication to the most powerful love ever. It was like a literal atomic bomb went off and they love exploded. I loved it so much.
Overall, I’m not gonna waffle because I really could about this book quite a lot but it was just so amazing. I loved the rockstar vibes. I loved their relationship. I felt heartbreak. I felt loss. I felt love. I felt happiness. I felt everything and it was everything!

✨🔮My Review🔮✨ Oh my lord—Katie Knight, you did it again! This was such a wonderful book & I was in love immediately! Resist is apart of the “Legends and Love” series, but it can be read as a standalone!
In this book, you get to follow the angsty story that is a little over 200 pages of Ryker and Fox’s story. They’re 2 bandmates with a fiery-magnetic connection brewing between them. 🔥 They’re both hiding feelings, trying to bury them deeper—neither wanting to risk their band or friendship.
Ryker is a character! 😈 😂 He is probably my favorite, giving off menacing energy. He’s so cocky, impulsive, & possessive! The amount of possessive this man is—absolutely insane. Like, I could see the man leaving his name on Fox whether it’s a shirt, necklace or tattoo—just to keep the others away because Fox is Rykers. That is a given.
Fox is the complete opposite & I loved his character too. Fox is a guarded, stoic character, yet you see how hard he loves & how deep he’s in for it.
This book ✨ruined✨ me, in the best ways possible. Katie truly has a skill of making page-turners like this, undeniable deeply in love & crazed for each other couples! I highly recommend this book to everyone!
Thank you Katie & Courtney for the ARC copy, I truly do enjoy reading & being able to have the opportunity to review these amazing works! 🖤
3.8 ⭐️ rounded up to 4 ⭐️ because I’m generous and mildly conflicted.
siiiiiiigh Okay, listen—I usually inhale this author’s MM books like they’re literary oxygen, but this one? It just didn’t hit the same. Is it bad? No. Is it entertaining? Yes. Fast-paced, spicy, packed with rock-and-roll chaos and some genuinely loveable characters. But for reasons even my overthinking brain can’t explain… it just didn’t click.
Now, can we talk about the miscommunication? Because whew—there was a bit too much of it. Like, I wanted to crawl into the book and hand out communication workshops. One heartfelt convo could’ve solved half the plot… but then I guess we wouldn’t have had all the drama. Still, my inner therapist was silently screaming.
The twist at the end? Didn’t see it coming. It wasn’t triggering or anything—it just didn’t grab me by the heart the way I expected. And the subject matter is important, so full credit there. I usually live for an emotional gut-punch, but this time I was more like, “Oh… okay… that happened,” and then wandered off for snacks.
That said, I still recommend it. It’s a fun, fast, steamy ride with some heart—and it might totally work for someone else. Just didn’t pour the tea exactly how I like it this time.
Still a fan, still nosy about what comes next, just mildly emotionally undercooked on this one. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
📚📚📚 Okay well first I don’t think there will ever be a KA Knight book that isn’t a banger!! Fox and Ryder were such a ten out of ten book couple for me. They had some amazing chemistry on and off the stage. But the push between the two before either finally gave in, gosh that was just everything!! But let’s just say it gets rough.. my emotions went on a roller coaster ride because of their journey. They just stuck together even through some hard and difficult points. This found family just warmed my heart with how much they wanted everyone happy. This book I think now is my favorite of the series! The spice was perfect throughout and without giving too much away I highly recommend grabbing this!
📚📚📚 If you like to read: - Friends to lovers - Grumpy x sunshine - Bandmates - Touch him and 💀 - Forbidden love - Found family … You should definitely check this out
📚📚📚
Thank you so much for sending me a copy for an honest review in my own words. #giftedcopy
I don’t know where she hides these characters in her mind but I need a peek behind the curtain because KA Knight just knows how to tick the boxes off for me when I need them. And calling them the playboy and the bad boy is just perfection when describing Ryker and Fox. Whew I mean come on, tell me this concert in real life wouldn’t be off the charts hot! Not sure if this is the end of the Legends and Love series but if it was, I feel fulfilled as the storylines and characters throughout that KA Knight has given to us were perfection. This was a spicy MM Rockstar romance that was a little dark a times but she had me laughing at their banter, crying while they went thru heartbreak but also wanted to slap them around with all the miscommunication and tell them to get their heads on. I get it though as insecurities and fear are a huge factor for a lot of people plus with being in a band together and it to not work out would have destroyed everyone so a lot will put themselves last to make everyone else first so it’s hard to be mad at them for those feelings. But when they finally got together it was chart topping hotness. Even the side characters Dash and Striker just added to the storyline and show you how you can find your family and sometimes its right in front of you. I just want to hug them all up. Amazing read and another solid 5/5 stars from me
⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Not My Favorite from K.A. Knight, But Here’s Why
In Resist, we follow Ryker and Fox, bandmates, best friends, and two people drowning in mutual obsession but completely incapable of just talking to each other. And listen, I love messy, emotional romances. But the miscommunication trope? It’s my personal nightmare.
From the very beginning, these two circle around each other in silence. Instead of opening up or being honest about their feelings, they internalize everything, leaving readers stuck in repetitive inner monologues that had me screaming, 'Talk already!' I get the fear of rejection. I get not wanting to risk the friendship. But what’s the alternative, emotional self-destruction?
There were so many moments I wished they’d just fuck it out, get messy, make mistakes, whatever it was that Ms. Frizzle said. I kept holding out for the payoff, and when it finally came at the 41% mark, I honestly just felt relieved.
I’ve enjoyed K.A. Knight’s work before, and I’ll absolutely read more from her. But this one? It just didn’t hit for me the way I hoped it would. If you’re a fan of slow-burn angst and the miscommunication trope, you might love it more than I did. But personally, I needed more catharsis and less circular suffering.
