Employee Drift: Leading People Purposefully in Support, Clarity & Trust

Rate this book
Your team isn’t disengaging—they’re drifting. And it’s costing you.

Nobody wakes up thinking, “Today’s the day I check out at work.” But it happens. And it starts a boss calls them out in a meeting. Someone else takes credit for their work. Late nights stack up with no recognition. No support. No trust. Just more politics.

Then one day, they mentally check out. They didn’t quit. But they’re already gone.

That’s when the real damage begins.

Employee drift happens when trust erodes, ownership fades, and leaders fail to adapt. It’s the silent breakdown of workplace culture—where organizational change leadership never takes root because no one believes it will.

This isn’t theory. It’s a practical playbook for leaders

Organizational change that stalls

Disengaged teams and burned-out top performers

Missed goals caused by misaligned priorities and poor communication

The painful why good employees disengage

Inside, you’ll learn how

Rebuild trust with your team and create alignment that lasts

Mentor and coach your people with purpose—especially in high-pressure roles

Drive workplace culture that fuels performance instead of draining it

Lead with clarity, execution, and leadership alignment across the organization

Use employee engagement and team performance strategies that actually work

Whether you lead a small team or a full company, this book gives you a battle-tested blueprint rooted in three leadership

Support – Give your people the culture, tools, and standards they need to win.
Clarity – Set precise expectations and eliminate confusion so they can execute.
Trust – Build the belief that they’re understood, valued, and empowered to thrive.

Michael Wozniak draws from his leadership experience at Pepsi, the NBA during the Dream Team era, multiple business ventures, and now as a leadership coach—helping COOs, founders, and teams navigate organizational change and scale trust in real time.

If you’re tired of surface-level solutions and ready to stop the drift, this book is for you.

Because if you're not shaping your culture, it’s drifting. And if you want a team that’s fully engaged, high-performing, and invested—this is your playbook.

This is a primer on building healthy leadership culture where everyone thrives through support, clarity, and trust.

The saying in the final chapter captures the vision:
“If you want to 1 year of prosperity, grow grain;
If you want 10 years of prosperity grow trees but if you want 100 years of prosperity, grow people.”

Filled with real life case studies, personal stories, and practical takeaways I found it both accessible and applicable.
