McGuiggan's study of Job strikes a mix of scholarship and accessibility. You don't need a theology degree to understand it, but if you do you can still learn from it.
The introduction alone is worth a good read. He lays Job out in an honest, open way that leaves the ambiguities and discomforts in the book.
Section one presents Job as he lived, pieced together from his statements.
Section two examines Job's and his friends' statements.
Section three considers God's answers and the ending of the book.
