Another wonderful addition to The Know It Owl series is The Know It Owl and the Kangaroo, the fourth book by Terri Sabol. This delightful and educational picture book is filled with fascinating facts.
Curious about what Owl shares with Kangaroo? You’ll uncover intriguing information about this remarkable creature, which I know well since I live in Australia. It’s both fun and informative.

I think this series is incredibly clever. It is interactive and has little challenges throughout the book. You have Know It Owl who corrects Kangaroo after they make incorrect statements. The illustations are wonderful and a delightful book that will get you talking with your kids.

Terri Sabol’s The Know It Owl and the Kangaroo is a witty and wonderfully illustrated addition to The Know It Owl series, blending humor, education, and lively dialogue in a way that’s both engaging for children and enjoyable for adults to read aloud.

In this installment, readers meet an overly confident Red Kangaroo who, despite his enthusiasm, doesn’t have all his facts straight. Enter the Know It Owl—sharp-tongued, endlessly knowledgeable, and just a bit sarcastic—ready to drop some truth bombs and help Kangaroo “get a clue.”

What makes this series shine, and this book in particular, is its clever use of voice. The dialogue is crafted to be read aloud, with readers encouraged to take on the roles of Owl and the eager young animal. This makes reading a more interactive experience—perfect for classrooms, bedtime reading, or story time at the library. Owl’s wit, paired with the Kangaroo’s energetic misunderstandings, creates a fun dynamic that keeps kids laughing while learning.

The illustrations are another standout feature. Vibrant, expressive, and full of motion, they perfectly capture the transformation from misconception to understanding. Watching Kangaroo’s realization unfold visually is just as satisfying as reading about it.

Educational without being preachy, The Know It Owl and the Kangaroo teaches animal facts in a memorable way. Kids walk away entertained and a little wiser, just like Owl would want.

Get a Clue, Kangaroo! – A High-Energy Leap into Learning

The Know It Owl meets its most energetic challenge yet in a sporty, springy kangaroo who’s full of enthusiasm - but missing a few key facts! As the kangaroo bounces from topic to topic, The Know It Owl gently steps in to provide accurate information, proving that learning can be just as exciting as jumping.
This lively installment in Terri Sabol’s series celebrates curiosity, teamwork, and the idea that it’s perfectly okay not to know everything - what matters is being open to learn. With the fun catchphrase “Get a clue, Kangaroo!” woven into the narrative, young readers are invited to join in the fun and discovery.
Paula Piechna’s dynamic illustrations are full of movement and personality, capturing the kangaroo’s athletic energy and the owl’s calm wisdom. A perfect pick for kids who love action and learning, this book turns bouncing questions into big “a-ha!” moments.

Our favorite Know It Owl is back and this time, he’s hopping over to Australia to set the record straight with a very confident Kangaroo. If this is your first read in the series, don’t worry because they can be read in any order! Owls perfect mix of sass, smarts, sarcasm, and love teaches lessons in the best way possible. It’s a super engaging experience with witty banter, fascinating facts, and a number of laugh out loud moments! Just like in other books in the series, my kiddos were yelling, “Get a clue, Kangaroo!” on every page. The illustrations are not to be overlooked either! It’s amazing that they are able to capture the lightbulb moments as Kangaroo starts to realize that maybe he doesn’t know everything. That’s a good lesson to learn because everyone is wrong sometimes, and learning something new can be so much fun! If you’re ready to laugh with the kids while getting them curious and teaching them new facts, don’t pass this up!

The Know It Owl and the Kangaroo is the fourth book in The Know It Owl series by Terri Sabol. It is a cute children’s book with an educational component as the story educates us about Kangaroos- enlightening us with ‘kangaroo facts’ as well as providing some fun ‘activities’.
The story is accompanied by some wonderful, colourful, and interesting illustrations which really help to bring everything to life.
As expected from Ms. Sabol, this is quite a delightful children’s story, and sets the series off to a great start, learning about the various animals with the Know It All Owl.
The Series Consists of:
-The Know It All Owl (Book #1)
-The Know It All Owl and the Otter (Book #2)
-The Know It All Owl and the Giraffe (Book #3)
-The Know It All Owl and the Kangaroo (Book #4)
Happy Reading…

This was a wonderful kids read, we are introduced to Owl, who is wise and a little witty. Owl talks about all the animals and correcting anything that comes up with the animals. Owl shares wisdom that my kids really enjoyed learning about. This this is a very entertaining series that teaches and educates children on different animals. The illustration for these books is so colorful ad wonderful and show the animals like they are pictures. These books also have a bonus page at the end on all the extra information on the animals was wonderful. My daughter loved the how to draw at the end and was drawing all the animals in these series of book. These are a series book, but they don’t have to be in order they are all of different animals and their facts from their bones, habitat, food and so much more. Very educations and learning for kids on different animals.

This book is part of the Know It Owl series, and is an adorable way to start it all. In this book, Owl meets a red kangaroo, who seems confused on many things in his life. This book has a repeating phrase, "Get a Clue, Kangaroo", that will be easy for kids to pick up on, making the book more fun for all involved. The phrase is repeated every time Owl has to correct Kangaroo on something he says and claims, that is incorrect. This book is beautifully illustrated, and the story is short and well crafted. There is a rhyming scheme to the writing, and the story is engaging for children and adults alike.I would highly recommend this book for parents, teachers, and even children's librarians who wish to teach about kangaroo's.

Another fun book to a wonderful series!! Tip when reading this with kids make sure you have colored pencils and paper! These books are interactive and you will just love all the fun stuff to do while learning! At the end of this book you will know so much about Kangaroos and you'll even learn how to draw one!! In this book you follow a witty and sarcastic Great Horned Owl around while he gives you all kids of facts about Kangaroos. While learning the facts you will interact with measuring, mazes, and drawing. The book is a lot of fun and I can see teachers using these for mini lesson plans. Our wise Owl visits a Red Kangaroo in Australia in this book, and it’s just as entertaining and humorous as the other books in the series.

Again, Owl finds himself correcting misconceptions that Kangaroo has about his species. The illustrations are bright and colorful, capturing the attention of young readers.

I also learned some fascinating facts about kangaroos myself. Their tails are used for balance while jumping and as an extra leg when they are moving more slowly. Additionally, the tails are beneficial for swimming. Kangaroos are excellent swimmers. These were just a few new things I learned.

The book includes games to enhance learning, and it concludes with fast facts for readers. This series is a must-read for children who love animals.

The Know It Owl and the Kangaroo by Terri Sabol. This is another great edition of The Know It Owl series. It's the story of the Owl and Kangaroo, and Owl is all to ready to set Kangaroo onto the correct answers of all the crazy facts that Kangaroo thinks he knows about all the things. The Kangaroo is so smart and a little sassy and my nephew loves it. These books take on us a journey to a new place with a new animal in each book and the owl is always there to straighten them out. Such great illustrations and very informative books. I am getting them all for my new grandson's library. This author has become one of my favorite authors for children's books.

Another winner in the Know it Owl series! We picked up on more details in this book as this was our 4th in the series to enjoy. We noticed the books next to the "fact checker" stand titled with information about the kangaroo and the globe that identified where the kangaroos live. The colored pencils in this book, as in the others, are very helpful to visual size. We were surprised to learn that kangaroos can swim and other facts about them that we did not know. This was another fun and educational book that we recommend.

The Know It Owl and the Kangaroo by Terri Sabol
5 Star Review
Terri Sadol has done it again. This book is beautifully illustrated and is easy to read. The information in the story is easy to understand. Kangaroo thinks they know everything but has the facts all jumbled up. This book answers questions like: Do all kangaroos have pouches? Do all kangaroo look alike? When kangaroo has the answers wrong, Owl is there to clear things up for his friend. This is a book I would definitely recommend for the children in my family.

The Know it Owl and Kangaroo is another book in the Know It Owl series. I have read a few others and I truly love these books. They would be great for young readers and in a classroom library. The books teach readers all kinds of facts about the animals. The kangaroo is a little full of himself and put in his place by the Owl. I learned a few things about kangaroos and giggled a few times. Did you know a kangaroo can swim?! Or that a mom kangaroo can make special milk for 2 nursing joeys?! So cool! There are fun activities throughout the book and a drawing lesson at the end.

The Know It Owl and the Kangaroo is another brilliant addition to a creative and entertaining series. This series is a recent discover for us but it one that has quickly become our favourite. It is great to discover more about different animals and this author does it in such a fun and imaginative way.
What draws me most to these books is how much enjoyment my kids get from them. They can’t wait to pick up the next one and see what other adventures Owl is going to go on. This book was a fantastic story and we are very much looking forward to the next.

The owl is sarcastic in a light-hearted way that parents will chuckle at and the illustrations are beautifully done. Again, I love the idea of having activities sprinkled throughout the book to give the kiddos a brain break from all the awesome facts they are learning! I really hope Sabol continues this series as the possibilities are endless! Happy Reading!

This is a cute little childrens book that I think your little one will enjoy. I have read the series to my one year old granddaughter and she sits and listens and looks at the pictures. She is still to young to learn what the stories try to teach but I must say that I have learned a lot.

As she gets older, we will read the story again so that she can enjoy it and be as smart as the Know it all Owl. I hope your little ones will enjoy this book too.

The third book my son and I have read in this series. We continue to enjoy it. This time, owl meets with a kangaroo. You'll learn all sorts of facts about them. I love that the owl's reaction to each animal is different and silly. As always, the book has fun activities sprinkled through out. I love when books have extras in them. Whether it's a book for older kids, teens and adults, with maps, or kids books with activities. It always adds a bit of magic to the stories.

This is another great book in The Know It Owl Series. In this book, you have a over confident red kangaroo who is wrong about everything. The owl tells him, "Get a clue kangaroo." This is a fun and informative book about kangaroos. The illustrations are as great as the other books. There are also games in this book, the same as the others. It was a fast and very enjoyable read. It is another win for the children.

Wonderful read. I enjoyed learning more about kangaroos that I didn’t know before. It really gave me a new way to look at them when seeing them at the zoo, how they use their tail for balance and where the joey is made. The search and find and maze page are a fun way to get kids involved in the book and retain what they are learning. The artwork is lovely.

I also love how goofy the book is and how much joking there is. I really enjoyed these books. It makes it so fun to read because you learn while you feed your brain. Definitely recommend.
