A Scandinavian horror micro-collection of candlelit folktales, eerie traditions, and the quiet dread that hums beneath the surface of hygge
In the snow-covered corners of Denmark, horror doesn’t scream—it hums.
A man returns to a village that never forgets. A bride is chosen by the forest. A child waits for something ancient in the water. These aren’t stories to race through. They’re stories that settle in your bones.
Five candlelit tales of soft terror, quiet rituals, and the icy stillness that follows the final breath.
I was in between books and needed something to quench my thirst, and Cozy was the perfect micro collection. It's only available on Kindle, though. But as a bonus, Cozy comes with its own rabbit hole: Scandinavian folkloric horror. These stories were super creepy to read without knowing any of the folklore, but they got a lot creepier after I did a deep-dive into hygge horror.
It was a thrilling experience to step into the horror of another culture. The writing flows well, the vibe truly is cozy AND creepy, and was the perfect little read for when you're not sure what to read next.
