A year after walking away from a marriage that didn’t end in the happily ever after she had envisioned, Cassie Morgan finds herself unexpectedly involved in a quasi-relationship with Finn Brogan, a private investigator with bigger dreams for his future. Cassie isn’t in any hurry to move their relationship forward and Finn is surprised to find himself in a relationship at all – he isn’t interested in setting himself up to get burned a third time.
But when a woman with unfailing intuition and matchmaking tendencies wants to speed up the pace of their relationship and offers them the opportunity of a lifetime - and all they have to do to accept it is to move in together for one year - they know they’d be foolish to turn it down.
One year and out. Easy.
December, Again is a full-length, standalone novel. Due to language and sexual content, it is intended for readers over the age of 18.
I'm a little grumpy at Susan J. Graham right now. I downloaded her new book yesterday afternoon and started it right away. I immediately got sucked into the characters and story and stayed up way too late reading! I could not put it down. So I blame her for the fact that I'm running on coffee and yawning through today. :)
The characters in this story seem so "real" to me - I'd love to have dinner with them! I enjoy the way they communicate with each other and love how their relationship develops over the course of the book. The situation that they find themselves in would seem far fetched if you heard about it, but in the book it works perfectly.
I cannot wait to see what else Susan comes out with! In the meantime I'll make sure to get some sleep so I can stay up late with her next book!
Sometimes you just wanna read a book without a lot of drama. You want to like the characters and everything to work out in the end. Cuz let's face it, most of us read to escape reality for a bit and we want to read a fantasy like story that is pleasing & makes us feel good.
Well December, Again fits that bill. The main characters are likable & real & fully fleshed out. The story is interesting, engaging and happy. Everything I look for when I just want an escape from real life for awhile & just relax. It's definitely a book I can see myself reading again.
There is mature content sprinkled throughout the book. If that offends your sensibilities, it's easy to skip over those parts & pick the story right back up.
I fully recommend this book. And if you enjoy giving unknown authors a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed with Susan Graham.
I very much related to the heroine on the story. Quick wit, sharp tongue, and rarely over-serious, Cassie is my kinda girl! Her love interest, Finn, is a good boy gone bad.
The dynamic between not only Cassie and Finn, but the friends and family of the two are written with great insight and not a few quirks.
What the hell? I absolutely loved Susan Graham's novel, "Isn't it Time." But "December, Again"? 40% in and I knew that I'd had enough. The issue? As much as I liked both protagonists, Finn and Cassie, I honestly thought I was reading about two teenagers instead of the adults they really were.
A beautiful, touching, engaging, romance. Months later I find myself thinking back to this story and we all know, that is a sure sign of a fabulous book.
