this book pulled me out of my reading slump
I loved this book from the first page I couldn’t put it down. I love when characters like Monroe and Jin have their own personalities that mesh well together and it’s not a whole bunch of clashing. I loved Jin omg uhhh a dream man and Monroe was very sweet I loved them.

It was okay
I enjoyed the setup of the story and tropes for the plot. However, I just found Monroe lackluster in depth. I know she's a normal, grieving person, I just wish there felt like more to her. I can't quite say what I would have wanted instead. Not more trauma, but more personality outside of reacting to situations. She didn't even seem to care about the only friend she'd made. It also would've been nice to know if she reclaimed her life or had a new identity. It just seemed like her personal revolved around what she was and felt, to Eli, Jin, and her mom.
I guess you could say it's a character arc by the end.
Jin felt solid enough to me and the Korean setting along with the mob was engaging. Their start was crazy, but it mellowed out with... Less sharp edges in the end. Enjoyed enough to finish in one day.

Marked by Him by Sienne Vega is an elegantly crafted story and denotes some firsts for this author. While maintaining her love of mafia-themed books, Marked by Him is Ms. Vega’s first book set entirely in a different country and Monroe (imo) is her most “normal” female lead character to date; she was so relatable, and she made me want to know her. Still mourning the loss of her fiancé. Monroe is teaching English to children in South Korea and selflessly volunteering at an orphanage; she is a genuinely kind and compassionate person. Unfortunately, her many virtues are unable to shield her when she witnesses an act of violence. When the beautiful American stumbles into the wrong place at the wrong time instead of eliminating her as a witness, Jin marks her and sends her away with a stern warning 😊. However, his leader demands a more final solution. Loyal if reluctant, Jin sets off on a course of close surveillance of Monroe’s life. As he slinks behind her like a foreboding shadow, he comes to know and appreciate the incredibly good person that she is. As time winds down, will Jin carry out his orders or has Monroe’s sheer decency affected his ability to act with uncaring ruthlessness?? And is he the only hunter on her track? I loved the proximity aspect of this story as Jin kept Monroe close for her safety and his obsession. I could not begin to pick a favorite book from Ms. Vega’s catalog, but I would put Marked by Him firmly somewhere in my top seven. The evolution and development of Jin and Monroe’s relationship was certainly one of my favorites.

😍😍😍The Fierce Tiger & his "Rabbit"
Wow!!! Marked by Him had me in a chokehold from the moment JinTae & Monroe (AKA his little rabbit) met in that dark alley, because she made a wrong turn & got lost😨The story is filled with edge of your seat suspense! This is an uber dark romance & the author does not hold back on the vicious gangster- syndicate violence ; or the scorching, sizzling hot chemistry between the MCs--- The ✍️style is so vividly descriptive, its like watching a high octane, action drama on Netflix😱I honestly didn't know how these two lovers would survive & make their romance work as they are polar opposites! He is a 💯 dominant alpha gangster & she is a super sweet, kind, empathetic teacher of young children. I cheered so hard for the HEA they achieved against the greatest of odds🍷

Great Read
I just love to read dark mafia romances. Monroe met up with a dark dominant tiger Jin. Although she was scared out her wits, circumstances forced her to become tougher in order to survive. Jin on the other hand who was dark and dangerous showed a little more softness if that’s what you want to call it once he was exposed to someone different from his world. Overall I enjoyed the deep and dark steamy interactions between Jin and Monroe. Also I found the dry humor funny as well. This AMBW read was 🔥🔥🔥 I would like to read more like this. Thank you Sienna for the dark and steamy read that went along well with my dark and steamy coffee.

Monroe moved to another country after the loss of her fiance. While eaving s blind date she takes a wrong turn and sees somthing she shouldn't.
Jin is the captain in the orgnization that he works for. He is teaching a lesson when Monroe stumbles on the scene. He threatens her to keep it to herself, but later his boss orders him to clean up loose ends.
While he is following her and learning her patterns, he finds himself feeling pity for her. He finds reasons to keep following her. When he is ready to act, they do other things instead.
He finds a way to hide her, but secrets never stay hidden for long

3.25… You’re getting exactly what you expect from this book and that’s not a bad thing. We’re all ready for the dark mafia man and the sweet woman he falls in love with. Though there’s a lot going on here, more than romance. Some parts feel like a real thriller and the pace is pretty good. The worst thing about this was the epilogue because somehow the female lead goes back to her life as normal when she was supposed to be dead to everyone. And it’s never discussed how! Really frustrating, but otherwise a decent and easy read.

Breathtaking Read
I definitely love a spicy read, but in order for me to finish it the writing needs to be strong. Spice without character development and strong plot are pointless to me. With that being said, this book checked all of the boxes. I don’t typically read dark romances and this is the first Sienne Vega novel I’ve read. The way Monroe and Jin developed as humans through the book was beautiful and once I started I couldn’t put it down. What a beautifully written book. I highly recommend and will be reading more of Ms. Vega’s work.

Pretty Good
I haven’t always liked this authors darker romances, but this one made more sense. You get a chance to see the characters develop and grow with one another after such a rough start…instead of unrealistic insta love after crazy circumstances. Monroe was not as interesting as Jin was, but I did like them together and the story. I could stand to see how they evolve from very different backgrounds and make this work because it doesn’t seem very realistic the way it’s left. A follow up would be fun

A Permanent "Mark"?
Monroe & Jin had an intense first interaction and that's putting it mildly. Without spoiling there isn't a dull moment in the story especially with all the action & scorching hot steamy romance. I will admit there were moments I had to trust the author & story because our main couple went through it. I definitely had a few nail bitit moments.
However, they get back on track to HEA . I did enjoy this story.

Love worth fighting for
I really loved this story, based in South Korea, about a teacher who was in the wrong place at the wrong time on a night that would change her life.
I don't go into a lot of details bc I hate spoilers. I will say that I do wish there was a little blurb about how things were resolved in the time leading up to the HEA, but it doesn't take away from the story in my opinion.
If you like AMBW you will enjoy this read.

Really good story
I was surprised how good this was so detailed I felt like I was Monroe, Jin was the perfect hero. That traitor the nephew wow he was definitely a dirty fighter to kill his uncle what a low life. Really great story loved it need more AMBW thank you very much i am kdrama obsessed fan

Great storyline. This was a dark Asian mob romance novel. It had action and hot, steamy romance, and the main female could also keep up and fight. I love how the characters grow, and there was a plot twist on who the evil villain was. You won't regret reading this book.

Gritty good story!
Monroe's unwitting drawn into Jin's world when she stumbles onto something she shouldn't see. Jin looks at Monroe and decides to mark her with his symbol,and dares her to try and escape him. Monroe and Jin's lives become intertwined in a way neither of them expected, and it may cost them both their lives.

Gripping Read
I could not put this book down, it was exciting- most importantly not overly obvious to what would happen next. I loved the build up to their love for each other. No wasted scenarios, the story just flowed. Needless to say I will read their story again! Thanks Sienne 🥰

First time reading one of your books I love it. You just don’t know you got a new person. This book was so good baby. I started at 8 AM and finished it at 1 PM open this book read this is a good no scratch that. It was a great book. It had everything you needed.

Great storyline!
I enjoyed this, I Ioved the main characters and their chemistry together was explosive. I’m happy to see S.V is making a sequel for them, I can’t wait to read it. This is a sizzling hot read that will keep you engaged from the beginning to the end and that’s full of action. Great job 👏🏽

Jin came around eventually and at least he had a code to not kill innocent people. Moni was at the wrong place but she did not deserve death for punishment! Loved Moni’s Mom was the absolute sweetest. HEA was cute!
