/ what i liked:
- i'm a huge fan of superhero books. i absolutely love comics, so it was cool to read about teenage superheroes.
- Kyle. <3 <3
- also how realistic the book way. like, how Charisa's dad insisted on accompanying her and Hunter on their missions, bc they're only 15.

/ what i disliked:
-erm. the writing style. it's very tell-y, rather than showing, and this particular type of writing isn't my favorite. also it's very conversational & casual.
- i felt like the characters acted way older than they actually were. Charisa & Kyle are supposed to be 15, but the covers portray them as at least 17...also
- the romance. ^^ again, just felt like they were really young.
- the book itself felt choppy. like, it was a lot of separate events and the ending was just kinda meh.

all in all, i did enjoy the Ninja & Hunter series, and i hope to see them in future Jes Drew books. :)

4.5 Stars!!! =D

Special thanks to the author who gave me a free copy in exchange for an honest review. The author did not pay me for a review and all the thoughts here are my own honest opinion.

There is a reason why I gave this book 4.5 stars. There is a very special, most romantic, most sweet scene at the Orange Blossom that made me so happy. It was very well done, and the fact that the author didn't rush into it made it come so natural. I always shipped Olivia and Andrew, but I also secretly shipped these two characters.

And then that ending! I was in tears, guys. That was how attached I have become. And it takes a while for me to get all teary-eyed while reading a book. And what Courtney gave up! She was always so selfless, I loved her even more because of the scene.

I also love how the parents (or at least the dad) had more of a role. Letting him know about the scheme of things was the best and greatest thing that had happened in the series. It did put some restrictions on our main character, but seriously? In all the teenage superhero movies, why don't we see this happen more?

And you know what?

I also loved the Christian theme in this one. It seemed to be stronger in this one than it has been in the other two books. Growing up is difficult, but sometimes it is not what we always think. We should never stop growing. I haven't read too many books with this theme presented in the way it was, and it was so well put, and I was like, WOW!

What I Didn't Like:

I did think the villain was a little corny at times. I couldn't see him being written any other way. But that plot twist with him was written so well!

It takes a little bit to get used to the writing style, but once you get in, it is wonderful!

Content in Book:

1.

2. Superpowers.

3. Violence (hitting people over the head, punching, kicking, martial arts, fighting crime, shooting at people with a gun, using gas to knock someone out, , etc.)

4. A teenager driving a car without a license.

5. Teenagers fighting crime.

6. Faults identifications.

8. Crime (stealing, mugging people, stalking people, threatening to hurt family members to get what they want, holding someone against their will, supervillans, trying to take over the world, etc.)

9. Near death experiences.

Who Would I Recommend it Too:

Those who have read The Time I Saved the Day and The Time I Saved a Damsel in Distress.

Those who like superheroes. Those who like Spiderman. Those who like books that have martial arts in them. Those who want to read more books about women superheroes. Just try it, you might enjoy it, =)

Really enjoyed this conclusion to the series! I'm still scratching my head over the way these books manage to give off a comic-book superhero vibe on one hand while also at different times making me--actually laugh out loud, hold my breath in suspense, and seriously tear up. Good gracious, they're something else!

Overall, this story definitely had some elements that felt cheesy, but most of them involved the main villain, who was pretty much cheesy on purpose, so is it still actually cheesy when you're doing it on purpose? (These are the kinds of questions that make me question why I'm questioning a superhero story so deeply, people.) And by the time the climax hit--my word! I was so emotionally invested in so many ways!

Okay, can I just say, I loved the way Charisa's Christian beliefs came front and center in one crucial moment near the end. And I loved the way that the parents were more involved in this mission and that the kids listened and obeyed them, even when they didn't like it (for the most part). Although there was that one bit where I didn't know whether to be happy that Dad was so protective of one of the characters I love or mad that he was willing to endanger one of the other characters I love...aaargh!!! ;)

So, speaking of characters I love, I have to say that Kyle really grew on me in this one. I mean, I already liked him a lot, but there were several bits where I felt like his character had really matured, and I was very impressed with how he handled certain situations. Charisa still felt a bit immature in some places, but she also had some significant growth, especially by the end.

The only real complaint I have with this book is that our heroes are still really, really young for kissing/declarations of love/etc. I mean, in real life, I would say they are definitely too young. But maybe it's because they've gone through so much that they feel more grown-up than their actual ages...or maybe I've just watched too many teen Disney movies. *eye roll* But either way, it was the sort of thing that just sort of niggled in the back of my mind rather than making me slam on the brakes. So do with that what you will. :)

Overall, I've definitely enjoyed this series and had a lot of fun getting to know Ninja and Hunter and their friends. ;)

Content--superhero-type violence (fighting, knockouts, weapons pointed); mentions of various illegal activities; people are drugged and tranquilized; one kiss (not descriptive); mentions of cursing

This book is probably the best of the series and the whole trilogy is outstanding :)

Loved that Ninja's dad now goes with her on missions and more importantly, ALLOWS her to get the dangerous job done.
Love the revelation Ninja has about her feelings with Hunter, even though it came late in the story.
LOVE Olivia's part in this book, she goes from being a mostly silent best friend in the series to being much more involved here and she is brilliant.
Love that Courtney had the chance to take the tea leaf but shows what's really important to her.
Love that Vanessa and Charisa ended up stuck on a school assignment together and reach an unexpected understanding. The scene where Charisa defends her was awesome!
Hated the neighbor's son but did NOT see the twist with him at the end.
Wishing there had been more Riley in the book, such a great pup!
Really love how Charisa has evolved in this series in such a short/three book time. She's only 15 when the book ends and I keep thinking she's older.

Marcus and his villains don't commit a lot of crime in this one but he keeps getting on the news with his threats, it was more described than experienced. However, it still makes a great read despite the lack of action in this book. Marcus is actually a decent kid who is trying to impress his senator dad, he breaks into Charisa's house and makes threats to her friends/loved ones, but he never actually does any harm and he always responds to her emails and is honest.

Charisa's mother and Courtney have to leave the plot at one point and it wasn't the same without them. There is a potential threat to Ninja and Villain Hunter's powers in this book and it was so well written how they respond to this threat. I just loved everything about Charisa in this story and it's RARE when I rate the ENTIRE trilogy FIVE STARS, however, this series TRULY deserves it. The ending implies there's more of Charisa in a different series, but I'm satisfied the way this one ended so I'll move on. Highly Recommend and loved these books!

The Time I Saved the World pretty much picks up 6 months where the second book leaves off. Now that Charisa’s powers are known to her parents, she has begun working with her father and Villain Hunter to become stronger and smarter when using her powers. However, someone has noticed Charisa from the beginning, and has been actively keeping watch on her. After some suspicious robberies, secrets best hidden come out and a criminal unlike any Charisa has gone up against before, puts the whole world in danger.
With writing that makes you feel for the characters, wondering who can be trusted and who can’t, a touch of romance, and a teen girl just trying to do her best and see where she fits in this world, I could not put this book down till the very exciting conclusion.

It's bound to happen sooner or later- if you have great powers, someone else is going to get great powers to make a proper foe for you. And the world is going to be endangered just because.

Charissa's latest foe has been watching her from the bsckground for a long time. Now he's finally learned the secret of her superpowers so he can become that foe. And, if that doesn't work out, her boyfriend (somebody tell Hunter!).

Warning to all you hardcoreally shippers out there, this book contains two professions of love, a kiss, and a betrayal.

The conclusion of The Ninja and Hunter Series proved to be the final installment I craved as a reader.

Highlights:

Charisa and Kyle's Chemistry: I love how these two banter with one another. You can't help but ship them! <3

Charisa's Dad's Involvement: It was fun to watch Chrissie's dad, a cop, get involved with the mission in this installment. It was also hilarious to see his reaction to Kyle. XD

Courtney: I'm pretty sure Courtney, Charisa's little step-sister, is my favorite character in this series. She is kind, selfless, and always willing to put others' needs above her own. I loved the way she made a huge difference in this final installment.

The Tie-In from Book Two: A character that made a short appearance in book two infers something that happens in book three that I totally wasn't expecting. Great use of foreshadowing!

Overall, The Ninja and Hunter Series is a series that I highly recommend to fans of the Marvel universe, and fans of clean young adult fiction alike.
