This was an odd book, but I was intrigued and kept reading to see how it ended. Filled with murder, family dynamics, twins, political ambition, deceit, desire and multiple personalities.
It’s an older book from 1986 so much of the language would now be considered degrading to women. Set in Texas an artist meets a very attractive woman on the beach. After a fun evening, he wakes up to the horror of two dead bodies. Andy, the artist, is helped by his brother Zach to clear his name. Zach has previous experience in law enforcement. Then you add in a preacher’s daughter who might be Hilary/Jolene or Abigail/Abby depending on the situation along with a politician who has a Sandman List (cases where he feels the death penalty is warranted). I figured that is where the title came from.
