Presents a biography of Ethan Allen, the Revolutionary War hero who led the Green Mountain Boys in the capture of Fort Ticonderoga from the British in 1775.
We listened to this on audio during our road trip to Fort Ticonderoga. The narrator was great and the historical notes interspersed throughout made it even more interesting.
A well written children’s book that carefully and age appropriately discussed some very controversial subjects. A simple history of Vermont that also “fleshes” out some aspects of the American Revolution that aren’t often covered.
"Ever since I arrived to the state of manhood ,and acquainted myself with the history of mankind, I have felt a sincere passion for Liberty."
“It is bad policy to fear the resentment of an enemy.”
"Come Out Of There, You Damned British Rat!"
"Those who invalidate reason ought seriously to consider whether they argue against reason with or without reason."
