A county fair, an ex-boyfriend, and a killer on the loose—life is never boring for Ivy.
When Ivy signs up to sell her famous cheesecake at the county fair, she expects a fun, if hectic, week. Things quickly take a turn when her ex-boyfriend—whom she dated for a grand total of three weeks—shows up, begging for another chance.
When a deputy is murdered at Ivy’s booth, it sends shockwaves through the fairgrounds. Worse, Ivy suspects the real target might have been Jett, her current beau, and the killer got the wrong person.
Now, with time running out and danger lurking in every corner, Ivy must unmask the killer before they strike again—and make sure Jett isn’t next on their list.
So far, I’ve read 7 of the 12 books in the Ivy Clark Mystery series, and although I didn’t finish the 8th, I’ve really enjoyed the series thus far. I think the reason I enjoy this series so much is that Ivy reminds me of a young Jessica Fletcher.
In this latest adventure, the town comes alive with a fair, and as always, things take a turn for the worse when someone ends up dead. Now Ivy is curious whether her ex-boyfriend, Hanon, or a seemingly solitary townsman named Bill, might be involved.
With her trusty older BFF Boyd, her cafe manager Jose, and her town sheriff boyfriend Jett by her side, she works to solve the case.
These stories are an easy escape when I need a break from heavier reads. I love going on these adventures with the characters. If you’re a fan of cozy mysteries, these books will be a great addition to your TBR.
I am enjoying the characters in this series. Kristy keeps me guessing about the plot. I hope there are more books to come so we can explore the different characters’ stories.
Another great addition to this series! I'm glad there was a little more of Ivy, Jose, and Boyd together. The reason for the murder was pretty weak but it was still a very enjoyable read
Ivy is content with her diner but takes on the task at a fair where one of the deputies is murdered. She helps her boyfriend Sheriff Jett apprehend the killer after some misdirection
This was such a fun cozy mystery. Kristy Dixon writes pretty good banter and her protagonist, Ivy Clark is very likable. If you enjoy a good palate cleansing cozy, give this one a try.
