Book Two, Tears of Italy
2020 begins as the first year of the deadly pandemic abruptly stops everyone's hopes for the summer season. The world is locked down, and tourists have stopped coming to Sorrento.
Martha has time on her hands to think about her life. She reflects on her childhood and a moment when Italy was invaded by a different evil... the Nazis. The year is 1943, and a secret she has been hiding from the world since she was ten is now discovered. It has the potential to ruin her family's reputation.
Challenges continue to affect everyone in The Villa in different ways, but even in the most difficult times, romance blossoms, and love brings happiness and hope back into all their lives.
